Chapter 217: Chapter 217: Ali’s Opening Ceremony (1)

Two minutes in, Lu Xiao’s brows were already furrowed.

Ali’s parents, he couldn’t fill that out.

He had no idea what her parents’ names were, and Ali herself couldn’t clarify.

"Big Brother Xiao, just write your name down," Ali whispered softly, seeing Lu Xiao in a quandary.

Lu Xiao hesitated for a moment, then nodded his head.

Under the section for family members, he wrote down his own name and in the relationship column, he put: siblings.

About the guardianship issue with Ali, he had already sent someone to handle it upon returning, and it would be sorted out in a couple of days.

"Do I even need to fill out the occupation part?" Lu Xiao couldn’t help but grumble upon reaching the last section.

"Yes, Teacher Miaomiao said this helps to understand the family situation more comprehensively."

"When there’s a parent classroom activity, it can be better organized."

Lu Xiao shook his head, alright... with that said, I can’t argue.

In the end, he wrote down "freelancer" in the occupation column.

He certainly couldn’t write that he was employed at the Seventeenth Bureau, something ordinary people couldn’t even come into contact with.

Freelancer sounds good; it has the feel that anything is possible.

Of course, it also has a bit of a "jobless vagabond" implication.

"By the way, big brother, remember to come to the school the day after tomorrow for the opening ceremony," Ali reminded Lu Xiao after putting the form in her backpack.

"Alright, I got it," Lu Xiao gently ruffled Ali’s head.

What? Didn’t I just agree with Liuli Hong that I wouldn’t leave the Seventeenth Bureau before reaching Heavenly Man Third Rank?

Well, no helping it, matters concerning children are no small deal, as a guardian I must be present.

...

Two days later, at the entrance of Golden Crown International Kindergarten, it was packed with parents bringing their children for the opening ceremony.

Seeing the bustling scene, Lu Xiao also involuntarily swallowed.

"Alright, let’s get out of the car." Inside the car, Liuli Hong said to Lu Xiao.

This was the result of Lu Xiao’s rational argument, Liuli Hong agreed to let him attend Ali’s opening ceremony, but he would also accompany him throughout.

As for Liuli Hong’s identity, he was Ali’s grandfather.

Anyway, Heavenly Men always appear young; without Liuli Hong saying anything, no one knew he was over a hundred years old...

After registering at the school entrance, the three of them finally entered the school.

"Brother Xiao, Teacher Miaomiao said we should go to the classroom first."

"Ok, Ali, lead the way."

Soon enough, Ali led Lu Xiao and Liuli Hong to the classroom.

Due to her age, Lu Xiao decided not to enroll Ali in a toddler class but arranged her to be in the middle class instead.

Looking at the sign ’Intermediate 2’ above the classroom, Lu Xiao couldn’t help but smirk.

"I’ll be outside," Liuli Hong said, not planning to go in. His duty was to ensure Lu Xiao’s safety, so standing guard outside was just as good.

Without saying much, Lu Xiao walked into the classroom, holding Ali’s hand.

By then, the classroom already had quite a few parents who sat at the back, while the children played in the center activity area.

"Hello, are you... Ali’s big brother?" As soon as he entered, the teacher came over.

She was a woman in her mid-twenties, dressed simply, with fair skin, giving out a very approachable vibe.

"Yes, Teacher Miaomiao," Ali introduced, "this is my big brother."

"Hello, Teacher Miaomiao, sorry for arriving a bit late, parents sit at the back, right?" Lu Xiao asked with a smile.

"Not late at all, yes, just find a seat anywhere at the back."

"We’ll start the activity when everyone arrives," He Xinmiao spoke with a slightly fast pace.

Lu Xiao nodded, "Okay, thank you, Teacher Miaomiao."

After speaking, Lu Xiao walked toward the back of the classroom.

He Xinmiao watched Lu Xiao’s back, her face slightly flushed.

She had initially thought Ali’s brother being a freelancer might mean he did food delivery or something.

Now it seemed she had preconceived notions.

The confidence on Lu Xiao, that subtle aura of a superior, was definitely not typical.

Once in the parents’ area, Lu Xiao found a chair to sit down, then began watching Ali play with other kids with a beaming smile.

Ali’s adaptability was top-notch; she had basically integrated within just a few days.

"Jiang Li, let’s dance the hand-holding dance," a little girl approached Ali.

Ali didn’t refuse and started hopping around holding the girl’s hand.

Lu Xiao’s smile grew even more radiant seeing Ali’s happiness, as it reflected his own.

Ali and the girl were quite joyous in their dance, accidentally bumping into a little boy stacking blocks nearby,

causing a few of his half-stacked blocks to fall.

"Ah, I’m sorry."

"Sorry, Dong Ming, let’s help you stack them back," both girls apologized politely.

With so many kids around, it was normal to have a little accident.

But to Lu Xiao’s surprise, the boy called Dong Ming, now with an angry face, stood up and pushed Ali and the other little girl hard.
