Chapter 9: The Immeasurable Tribulation Spear

This dragon girl had peerless beauty, her face as radiant as a blooming flower, alluring and exquisite. Her dragon horns arched elegantly, translucent and jade-like, as if sculpted from crystal. Their graceful curves resembled crescent moons, faintly glowing with an icy brilliance.

She wore a long ice-blue dress adorned with countless shimmering ice crystals. Her long hair flowed like a silver river descending from the heavens, ethereal and soft.

A true-immortal level ice dragon?

Qin Chuan looked at the dragon girl in surprise. Most of the dragons in the East Sea were green dragons, the South Sea had red dragons, the North Sea revered black dragons, and only the West Sea was home to white and blue dragons.

So how did this ice dragon girl appear here?

“Indeed. I have a good relationship with the East Sea Dragon King Ao Guang. He has granted me this Ice-Snow Dragon Roar Spear as a gift. Does the dragon girl have any objections?”

The dragon girl gave a light curtsy.

“Dragon girl Ao Xue greets the honored immortal.”

“Honored immortal, this Ice-Snow Dragon Roar Spear belonged to my ancestor. Ao Guang does not have the right to decide its ownership.”

Could this dragon girl be a descendant of the ancient dragon clan?

Qin Chuan wondered, though he calmly replied, “You jest, dragon girl. The East Sea Dragon King is a legitimate deity of the Celestial Court and rules over the East Sea. Since this immortal spear resides within his domain, naturally he has the right to dispose of it.”

Ao Xue parted her red lips, revealing pearl-white teeth, but there was a trace of humiliation in her eyes. She spoke in a low voice.

“The Celestial Court? In ancient times, even immortals would not dare utter such words before my dragon clan.”

Qin Chuan smiled faintly. So this was a dragon girl still clinging to the former glory of the ancient dragon race.

“Those days are no more.”

Just a few simple words, yet they struck Ao Xue like a thunderclap. Her expression was shaken and unsettled.

After a moment, Ao Xue gathered herself and looked at Qin Chuan with a complex expression.

“If the honored immortal can gain the recognition of the Ice-Snow Dragon Roar Spear, Ao Xue is willing to serve you loyally for life.”

Qin Chuan stepped past Ao Xue to stand before the Ice-Snow Dragon Roar Spear. He reached out and grasped it.

Immediately, divine light burst forth, and a biting cold emanated from the spear. The sea trembled as if heaven and earth were collapsing, waves surged wildly.

A powerful shockwave erupted from Qin Chuan, centered on him, flinging the distant Turtle Prime Minister to the ground. The old turtle was left dizzy and disoriented.

The world before Qin Chuan shifted and transformed, and he suddenly found himself in a different time and space. All around stretched the boundless prehistoric wilderness. A young man in silver armor with dragon horns was locked in a fierce battle.

He faced a man and a woman, both exuding vast auras, with a qilin riding clouds behind the man and a phoenix soaring behind the woman.

The young man wielded a spear like a dragon leaping from the sea, his momentum overwhelming. Each thrust cut through the air with terrifying power.

The pair countered with divine techniques: the qilin summoned thunder and lightning, and the phoenix cast flames that could incinerate the heavens.

“This is… the beginning of the Dragon-Han Tribulation?”

Qin Chuan watched in astonishment. These were the memories of the Ice-Snow Dragon Roar Spear.

The silver-armored youth was likely Ao Xue’s ancestor—the former wielder of the spear.

A peak Taiyi Golden Immortal, he fought two powerful opponents to a standstill. Ultimately, all three perished, their spirits extinguished together. His strength was likely not inferior to the Monkey King during his havoc in Heaven.

Eras passed, and Qin Chuan returned to the Icy Sea. He now felt a deep mental connection with the Ice-Snow Dragon Roar Spear.

Spear in hand, it seemed to possess the wisdom of ice and the might of a dragon’s roar. The shaft gleamed with cold light, the tip sharp enough to pierce the wind, and faint dragon roars echoed from it.

Qin Chuan thrust the spear forward, and an invisible force erupted from its tip, piercing through thousands of miles of sea. The ocean froze instantly. The waves split apart, revealing a bottomless abyss.

“What a weapon! What a weapon!”

Qin Chuan couldn’t hide his joy. He lavished praise on the spear—full of spirit, imbued with ice and dragon might. As a postnatal treasure, it might even surpass the Monkey King’s Ruyi Jingu Bang.

“Ao Xue pays respects to Master. Congratulations on obtaining this immortal spear!”

The dragon girl Ao Xue, shocked by how easily Qin Chuan had subdued the spear, immediately stepped forward and bowed.

For countless years, many had come to the East Sea trying to claim this spear, but without exception, all had been rejected by the Ice-Snow Dragon Roar Spear.

“Rise.”

Qin Chuan stored the spear and gently raised his hand, lifting Ao Xue with an invisible force. The ease with which he subdued the spear was likely due to his recent insight into the Immeasurable Tribulation Spear technique.

“One breakthrough leads to many.”

Now, across the Three Realms, Qin Chuan could be called a master of the spear. The previous wielder of the spear had clearly also been a spear expert—this was fate.

Looking once more at Ao Xue, Qin Chuan said, “If you wish to serve me, I will protect you—but let us be clear from the start…”

Ao Xue bowed her head and said, “Please instruct me, Master.”

Qin Chuan nodded.

“The ancient dragon clan once commanded awe throughout the heavens and earth. I, too, have great respect for them. However, those times are long gone. In the days to come, you must cultivate diligently and not cling to the past, lest misfortune befall you.”

“If, in the future, your cultivation bears fruit…”

—Then naturally, you can do whatever you please!

Qin Chuan didn’t say the last part out loud, but he believed that Ao Xue was smart enough to understand his meaning.

“Thank you for the teaching, Master. Ao Xue understands.”

“Come, let’s return to the Dragon Palace.”

By now, Qin Chuan had figured out that there wasn’t much of a connection between Ao Xue and Ao Guang—they were simply of the same dragon race.

Given Ao Xue’s disposition, she clearly looked down on the current Four Sea Dragon Kings. Splitting the sea, they returned to the Crystal Palace. The moment Qin Chuan stepped inside, his eyes lit up at the sight of a monkey causing a ruckus.

The monkey wore a phoenix-feathered golden crown, golden chain mail, and cloud-walking lotus silk boots. In his hand was the Ruyi Staff, with which he stirred the entire Crystal Palace into chaos.

Aside from Ao Guang, three other dragon clan deities at the Golden Immortal level stood nearby, their faces filled with fear and astonishment as they watched the monkey.

Qin Chuan thought to himself.

“South Sea Dragon King Ao Qin, West Sea Dragon King Ao Shun, and North Sea Dragon King Ao Ji.

As expected, this greedy monkey forced Ao Guang to call in his brothers.”

The monkey’s sharp eyes immediately spotted Qin Chuan. Overjoyed, he shouted, “Qin Chuan! Come here, come here! I even got you a suit of armor!”

Qin Chuan raised his hand and caught the clothes the monkey tossed over. In a flash of light, he was already wearing them.

Dragon Silkworm Immortal Robe — elegant and mysterious in appearance, smooth as water, glowing faintly with golden light like flowing liquid. The material was incredibly tough—impervious to water, fire, blades, or spears.

The robe’s most remarkable feature was that it could transform its appearance according to the wearer’s will. Whether it be a feathered robe of celestial birds, scaly armor of serpents, or a golden dragon war coat—whatever the wearer imagined, the immortal robe would transform accordingly.

Suddenly, Qin Chuan felt that it made a lot more sense why Ao Guang would eventually ascend to Heaven and file a complaint…
