Chapter 668: Chapter 522 The Glory and Mission of the Pangu Clan
"Since you’re from the Ancestral Star, then follow me!"
Without explaining anything to Wang Yang, the Eighth Elder had Wang Yang accompany him to the Pangu Clan.
A Two-Step Saint leading three One-Step Saints, with another eight or nine Quasi-Saints following behind.
Such a lineup would certainly cause anyone who saw it to feel a tingling scalp.
Wang Yang hesitated for a moment but ultimately decided to follow their steps, traveling through the Void to the ancestral lands of the Pangu Clan.
However, Wang Yang also felt a drumming in his heart; if the Eighth Elder was already a Two-Step Saint, how profound must the strength of the Pangu Clan be?
Eight Two-Step Saints? That should be impossible; there had to be at least a Three-Step Sage in charge.
Regardless, the might of the Pangu Clan definitely surpassed that of the Three Realms by a significant margin.
It wasn’t long before Wang Yang and the others arrived above a continent while traversing the Void.
The group directly passed through the Void and descended upon the continent.
The moment his feet touched the ground, Wang Yang began to survey the environment, and only on taking a good look did he realize that the ancestral grounds of the Pangu Clan weren’t as magnificent as he had imagined.
What met his eyes were mostly barren peaks, either rocky or covered with yellow soil, with a few lone grasses and trees rooted between the rocks and boulders, giving off an extremely desolate impression.
And the size of the continent, by Wang Yang’s initial estimation as he descended, was likely much larger than the Three Realms.
The vastness of such a continent yet so desolate intrigued Wang Yang.
"Fellow Daoist, please follow me. Elder Huang, please continue the training with them," the Eighth Elder said to Wang Yang, while also making arrangements for those who came back with Elder Huang.
Wang Yang nodded, and the four flew together towards the highest mountain peak on the continent.
Along the way, Wang Yang occasionally lowered his head to look at the ground, but aside from mountains it was still just mountains, and even fewer human tracks between the wilderness.
As for the Spiritual Energy contained within the great yards of battle, it was not scarce, and in the rich lands, it far surpassed the Three Realms; even after the revival of the Spiritual Energy in Qin’s Three Realms following Wang Yang’s completion of the Heavenly Dao, it was no match for this place.
And this was precisely why Wang Yang found it all the more peculiar.
Because of the sparse population. Just think of the Southern Continent Jambudvipa of the Three Realms, teeming with countless beings, with mortals passing shoulder to shoulder in the bustling cities of Chang’an and Luoyang.
Even the traditionally less populated lands of the other three continents weren’t as desolate as this, where not a single person could be seen.
"Eighth Elder, is this really the territory of the Pangu Clan?" Wang Yang asked uncertainly.
"Fellow Daoist, I know you are full of doubts, but now is not the time to explain them to you. When we arrive, you will understand," the Eighth Elder glanced back at Wang Yang but his cryptic words only heightened Wang Yang’s curiosity.
During their journey, Wang Yang also noticed that the mountain peak that seemed not too far away took quite a while to reach.
One must know that Wang Yang, having Achieved Saintliness, moved much faster than a Quasi-Saint. In the Three Realms, he could return to Golden Turtle Island from Beyond the Heavens in the time it took an incense stick to burn, but here on this continent, their speed seemed restrained.
This peculiar discovery fueled Wang Yang’s curiosity about the mysterious land of the Pangu Clan and made him yearn to uncover the many secrets hidden within this continent.
The party flew for two hours before Wang Yang and the others finally touched down.
What lay before Wang Yang was the highest mountain peak of the continent.
The sights along the way had already left Wang Yang in awe, and now, standing at the base of this mountain peak, he felt even more insignificant.
"Fellow Daoist, this is the ancestral land of the Pangu Clan. The Great Elder is waiting inside for you," said the Eighth Elder to Wang Yang, gesturing for him to enter.
Wang Yang looked at the row upon row of houses at the foot of the mountain, mere accumulations of stone and earth, extremely crude. Recalling the young men he had seen earlier, all bare-chested, he came to terms with it.
Here, Wang Yang sensed dozens of powerful presences, each no weaker than a Saint, which further convinced him of the depth of the Pangu Clan’s strength.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do; having come all this way, to consider leaving now would be childishly absurd.
Guided by the Eighth Elder, Wang Yang approached a place that could be considered a hall.
Compared to other stony dwellings, this was the only building made of wood.
Of course, the building wasn’t large; forget the Biyou Palace, even Wang Yang’s Traveling Palace on Golden Turtle Island was several times larger.
"Fellow Daoist, please enter. The Great Elder is inside and will resolve all the doubts in your heart," the Eighth Elder said to Wang Yang.
"Thank you, senior!" Wang Yang bowed with clasped fists to the Eighth Elder before stepping inside the building.
Only on truly entering did Wang Yang realize that it was a cave heaven within.
What from the outside looked like a mere few acres square of a wooden hut, upon entering, revealed itself to be an immensely vast space. The room even contained several mountain peaks displayed at the back, and nearly a thousand tables and chairs were arranged at the front for use.
And at the main seat, sat an old man.
To call him an old man might be somewhat inaccurate; his appearance was unlike the common elderly outside, with white hair and a face full of wrinkles.
Instead, he was built broad and sturdy, with a commanding presence.
Even his short hair was exploding out in all directions, filled with a sense of volatility.
But this old man, whose aura was as deep as the ocean, was immeasurable to Wang Yang.
"You’re from the Ancestral Star?"
The man who was originally seated at the main spot flashed before Wang Yang and, locking eyes with him, questioned Wang Yang.
