Chapter 588: Chapter 482: From now on, you’ll have to walk your own path
For the million-strong Demon Clan army, Ksitigarbha viewed them as inconsequential. To him, such a force might be even less significant than cannon fodder.
After all, in his eyes, they were nothing more than a horde with cultivation levels barely reaching the Heavenly Immortal, a group that would possibly perish in droves with just a puff of breath.
A million demons, what an enormous figure. Yet, beyond the words "a mixed bag of good and bad," those present at the quasi-saint level could not think of any other way to describe them.
Of course, they also knew of Jiang Ziya’s capabilities, so there was still some hope in their hearts.
In the original Divine Enthronement battle, the Shang Dynasty had the Grand Tutor Wen Zhong, whereas Wu Zhou had the Prime Minister Jiang Ziya.
Both used only mortal forces, yet they managed to trap and kill countless cultivators.
Now with these million Heavenly Immortals, who would dare say they could not overwhelm a quasi-saint?
"Later, I will issue an order for all demons at the pinnacle of Great Luo to come to the Suyu Realm," he said.
"The leadership of this million-strong demon army should remain with them."
"Besides, with these individuals, agitating the Three Realms once more should not be a difficult task."
Despite Jiang Ziya’s seeming uncertainty, his eyes were filled with confidence.
Obviously, he did not believe he would fail and was convinced that his methods would surely surprise the quasi-saints of the Three Realms.
Several hundred at the Pinnacle of Great Luo might be cannon fodder in front of a quasi-saint, but in Jiang Ziya’s eyes, they might possess the power to slaughter a saint.
"Yes!"
The Buddha of Bright Virtue and Ocean and Ghost Car exchanged glances. Without a doubt, they were assigned to convey this message.
They also had to escort them safely into the Suyu Realm.
It couldn’t be helped; although they had fully succumbed to their demonic nature, both still lacked a strong presence.
This feeling reminded them of their days at the Demon Master Palace and Mount Meru.
...
From the Chaos beyond the Heavens, two figures emerged from the Void.
One was clad in a white robe, but his pupils were pitch black.
The other, in stark contrast, wore a black robe and only his white sclera were visible.
These two were the Black-clothed and White-clothed Protectors of the Demon Clan, who had stepped out of the Void after receiving a summons from Daoist Yang Mei to enter the Three Realms.
"So this is the Three Realms? The environment truly is much better than the Void, but it won’t be long before this place too succumbs to the Void," the White-clothed Protector said, his brow furrowing. But with only black pupils visible in his eyes, one could not discern what his gaze held.
"To think such a Minor World would be capable of resisting the invasion of the demon race sages," he said scornfully.
"And they even require our presence. How ludicrous!" the Black-clothed Protector said coldly. After all, although they were quasi-saints, they had clashed with saints.
To them, killing an ordinary quasi-saint was a simple matter of raising a hand, and they did not think anyone at their peak could surpass them.
This confidence was not arrogance; it was born of their strength.
"How ludicrous, indeed!"
Just then, a voice emanated from the Chaos, and both the Black-clothed and White-clothed Protectors’ faces instantly changed because they had felt no one approaching. Clearly, the owner of the voice was of formidable strength.
They immediately went on the defensive, but the pervasive Chaos merely flowed lightly, like clouds, casting them out and causing them to spit blood.
"Hongjun, you’ve gone too far!" Daoist Yang Mei’s voice echoed from the other end of the Void, while both protectors stared intently at a direction in the Chaos, trying to apprehend the person there.
"What now? If the Demon Clan can’t defeat the Three Realms, will they turn to the Void to seek help?"
"What an ingenious tactic! But don’t forget, I am Hongjun, and though I have merged with the Dao, I can wield the authority of the Heavenly Dao!"
Hongjun’s presence slowly coalesced within the Chaos. He had no physical form, and what appeared here was merely an avatar of his being.
Seeing this, the Black-clothed and White-clothed Protectors’ expressions soured further. If just an avatar could cause them such embarrassment, in the eyes of this entity, were they not as easily killed as the beings they crushed with a mere gesture?
"Don’t forget our three-hundred-year agreement! If you interfere again, don’t blame me for striking the Three Realms!" Yang Mei said, barely containing his anger.
"Rest assured, I have no true intention of killing them," Hongjun said.
"However, you surely don’t think that outsiders can come to the Three Realms and the Heavenly Dao would stand idle, do you?" He laughed as he spoke to the Void beyond, and with a wave of his great hand, an invisible force acted upon the Black-clothed and White-clothed Protectors.
At first, they felt nothing, but in an instant, they sensed their cultivation levels declining.
Although they remained at the quasi-saint level, their strength was greatly diminished.
Even compared to the likes of the Prison-Suppressing King, whose strength was reduced to a fraction, the current condition of the protectors could be described as being reduced to one percent of their original power.
The stark disparity in the loss of their power drew expressions of frustration and anger across their faces.
After all, in the ghastly realm of the Void, without supreme power, they were no more than ants.
Now, it seemed they had become those very ants they once scoffed at, which was an uncomfortable feeling. No matter how they struggled, it was to no avail.
This was a Prohibition from the Heavenly Dao, a unique punishment for those from beyond the Three Realms.
"Stop struggling. If you could break free from the Power of the Celestial Way, you would have had no need to come here," Hongjun said, looking askance at them.
Indeed, the Heavenly Dao was the will of the Three Realms, and to break free from this will was something not even Yang Mei would dare claim he could achieve with certainty.
It was also the biggest reliance of the Three Realms so far.
"You may proceed," Yang Mei said, as though he hadn’t noticed the severity of the situation, still instructing them to go to the Three Realms.
He had only dispatched White Robed and Black Robed, regardless of what realms they belonged to or what strength they possessed.
