Chapter 460: Chapter 421 Release Those Holy Monks

Sun Wukong chuckled and said, "Who knows, we might just get a direct beheading."

Upon hearing this, Zhu Bajie’s face instantly paled, and he repeatedly said, "Brother Monkey, can it be so, we are going to die now? Master, how come you’re not afraid?"

As Zhu Bajie panicked, he noticed there was hardly any change in Xuanzang’s expression.

Sand Monk glanced at the master and smilingly said, "Clearly the master no longer fears life or death, having been through so many upheavals. Second Senior Brother, do you think everyone else is as scared as you?"

"Not afraid of death? Has Master stopped being human?"

Slap!

Sun Wukong smacked Zhu Bajie on the head and said, "What are you talking about, we’re not going to die this time!"

Zhu Bajie, still somewhat puzzled, said, "Didn’t Brother Monkey just say..."

"That was Big Senior Brother scaring you. Remember when we encountered all those demons and ghosts? Didn’t Big Senior Brother subdue them all? How could he be afraid of a few mere mortals now?" said Sand Monk, laughing.

Zhu Bajie thought about it and realized it made sense. He couldn’t help but roll his eyes at Sun Wukong, grumpily saying, "You, Pilgrim, just like to scare me. Also, why did you confess to the robbery earlier? It clearly was those bandits who robbed Kou Yan Outer Home, and yet you admitted guilt without being forced, putting us in a situation where we couldn’t clear our names even if we jumped in the Yellow River, right?"

Sun Wukong chuckled and said, "You fool, always so daft. Those two sons of Kou wrote a legal complaint accusing us of robbery and violence, spelling it out clear as day: Xuanzang lit the fire, Bajie wielded the knife, Sand Monk moved the gold and silver, and Sun Walker killed Kou. Now that the government soldiers have caught us with the looted wealth from Kou Yan Outer Home, it’s a case of catching the thief with the goods, no amount of clever arguments could save you."

"Then the prefect had someone hoop the master’s bald head; if Old Sun hadn’t taken the blame, I’m afraid the master’s bald head would have been squeezed into a rotten melon by now!"

Zhu Bajie couldn’t help but smile wryly, as it indeed seemed to be the case at the time.

Then, glancing at Xuanzang, who seemed to have already understood the situation, Zhu Bajie asked, "So how do we get out of here?"

"Should we wait for that Old Lion to come and save us?"

Laughing, Sun Wukong said, "Getting out isn’t hard at all. There are two methods, one faster, the other slower. I just don’t know which one Master would prefer to use?"

Zhu Bajie’s eyes lit up as he asked, "How does the fast one go, and what about the slow one?"

Laughing, Sun Wukong replied, "The fast one is simple. The three of us brothers grab our weapons and fight our way out, retrieve our pack horse, then Master can mount the horse, and we can gallop non-stop to Mount Meru, protecting Master along the way."

"After all, Mount Meru is just eight hundred miles away from here, and it won’t take more than a few days to reach it."

"However, this would surely result in the issuance of a government arrest warrant for us. But we needn’t worry; however many they send, we’ll slay as many. How could a mere band of mortals stand in our way? With the three brothers to protect him, I guarantee Master will arrive safely at Mount Meru."

Zhu Bajie nodded, thinking the plan sounded good. After all, he had been Marshal Tianpeng, and even though he had descended to the mortal world, he was still a demon capable of killing without hesitation.

"Amitabha Buddha, it’s a sin, a sin!" Xuanzang hurriedly interjected. "Buddhist law is merciful; how could we so easily take lives? This action must not be taken. If we really did this, I fear that by the time we reach Mount Meru, even if I wanted to establish a new Buddhist law, there would be no justification."

"Since this action is not feasible, there is another strategy, but it’s somewhat slower, and it will also mean some discomfort for Master."

Sun Wukong turned to look at Xuanzang.

"What discomfort?" Xuanzang quickly asked.

Smiling, Sun Wukong said, "It’s just the inconvenience of Master staying here for a night. Come tomorrow, Old Sun guarantees Master’s grievance will be cleared, and the prefect will respectfully invite you to leave and offer you an apology."

Zhu Bajie, laughing, said, "Master, oh Master! This monkey is full of hot air, now that he’s been caught as a thief, yet he still dares to talk big like this."

Xuanzang couldn’t help but give Zhu Bajie a stern look, scaring Zhu Bajie into promptly shutting his mouth.

Even at this point, Zhu Bajie was still undermining Sun Wukong, deliberately saying cold-hearted things; unable to help himself, he was envious of others’ success.

Xuanzang was no fool; trapped here, he was still hoping that Sun Wukong would rescue him.

Xuanzang smiled at Sun Wukong and said, "Wukong, your master knows you are highly capable, but he doesn’t know how you plan to clear our names this time."

Sun Wukong smirked and said, "Master, leave that to me, Old Sun has a wonderful plan."

Xuanzang nodded and said, "Then I won’t inquire any further, just please don’t easily harm lives. These people have been deceived, even those who falsely accused us, their crimes don’t warrant death! Besides, they are Kou’s family members; we ought to consider Kou’s position and not harm them!"

Laughing, Sun Wukong said, "Rest assured, Old Sun won’t kill; at most, I’ll just scare them a bit to ensure they don’t offend again."

At this, Xuanzang finally nodded in approval and said, "In that case, your master is relieved."

With a faint smile, Sun Wukong turned to Zhu Bajie and Sand Monk and said, "Fool, Junior Brother Sand, you two stay here and take good care of the master while Old Sun goes and takes action."

"Don’t worry, with us here!" Sand Monk said promptly.

Sun Wukong nodded, then left behind a decoy body while his Primordial Spirit quietly slipped out of the jail. Upon seeing Sun Wukong’s departure, Zhu Bajie, the fool, sourly remarked, "This monkey has run off to enjoy himself while leaving us behind to suffer the consequences."
