Journey to the West: Starting from Changing Sun Wukong’s fate
Chapter 312 - 313: You Dummy, All You Know is Eating

Chapter 312: Chapter 313: You Dummy, All You Know is Eating

The Bull Demon King, upon learning that his beloved concubine had died due to the jealousy of the Rakshasa Woman, could not help but complain, "My lady, how could you be so foolish as to believe that nonsense from the Bodhisattva and cause the death of my love."

With tears, the Rakshasa Woman said, "Great King, ever since you took that fox spirit as your concubine and abandoned me alone in our chamber, have you ever remembered how long it has been since you last set foot in Banana Leaf Cave?"

"This..." The Bull Demon King hesitantly said, "It’s not that I dared to abandon you, only because after the Jade-Faced Princess was introduced to the household, there were countless domestic affairs and friends to see, that’s why I stayed outside for so long without looking back, neglecting you, my lady. But my lady, you should not have had someone kill Jade-Faced! If it were not for this incident, how would it have led to today’s disaster?"

At this point, Sun Wukong said to the Rakshasa Woman, "It’s useless to say more now that things have come to this, the Bull Demon King’s life is now in your hands, whether he lives or dies is up to you."

Hearing this, the Rakshasa Woman quickly pleaded, "My husband and I have been blind and have offended the Immortal, we beg the Immortal to forgive us and pardon our crimes!"

"You shouldn’t be asking Old Sun, but rather your husband. As long as he willingly lends the Banana Leaf Fan to Old Sun, I will let bygones be bygones and spare his life," Sun Wukong said with a smile.

"My lady, this macaque is our enemy, how can you plead with him?" the Bull Demon King shouted loudly.

"Great King, the Jade-Faced Fox truly died at the hands of that Bodhisattva, not Sun Wukong. As the saying goes, a wise man submits to the circumstances. Please just agree to his request," urged the Rakshasa Woman quickly.

"Even if Jade-Faced’s death has nothing to do with him, it was indeed I who personally killed my brother Ruyi True Immortal," the Bull Demon King retorted angrily.

Sun Wukong then stopped quibbling and said, "Indeed, Ruyi True Immortal was killed by me, but he deliberately made things difficult for us by refusing to give us the Abortion Spring Water. After our repeated persuasion failed, we had no choice but to take action, and that led to his demise."

"Bull Demon King, your life is now in my hands, and I must remind you that perhaps Ruyi True Immortal was instigated by the Bodhisattva as well. If you continue to be obstinate, don’t blame Old Sun for not showing mercy."

"No!" The Rakshasa Woman quickly spoke up, "Immortal, please calm your anger, my lord is a bit stubborn, let me persuade him again."

"Humph!" Sun Wukong snorted, somewhat impatiently, "Old Sun’s patience is limited; I’ll give you one last chance."

He didn’t want to borrow it only to face other troubles later, so he wanted to solve all the problems once and for all.

"Don’t worry, Immortal, I will definitely persuade my lord," the Rakshasa Woman hurriedly promised before turning to the Bull Demon King with lowered head and saying, "Great King, why must you persist in your delusion! Even your brother Ruyi True Immortal often committed evil deeds. His death at Sun Wukong’s hands was karmic retribution."

"Moreover, he angered Sun Wukong, which led to his end; no one else is to blame."

"Besides, it’s very likely that it was also the doings of the Bodhisattva. If you really want revenge, the Bodhisattva should be your target, not Sun Wukong. Why insist on taking matters into your own hands to avenge him!"

"Would you really sacrifice your own life just to be satisfied?"

The Bull Demon King lowered his head and fell into thought; though this old bull had lived for over a thousand years and could not be said to fear death, he still cherished his own life.

Continuing her plea, the Rakshasa Woman said, "Great King, as the saying goes, ’As long as the green mountains are there, one need not worry about firewood.’

As Xuanzang and the others are on their Journey to the West seeking scriptures, the Immortals and Buddhas act as obstacles, but it is all just a play in reality. Our secret obstructions are going against the heavens; if we remain deluded, we will only end in death and obliteration!"

"Our thousand years of hard cultivation could vanish in an instant, to what end?"

"Please reconsider, Great King, and do not act rashly, committing a grave mistake only to regret it when it’s too late."

"Sun Wukong’s mana reaches to the heavens, and now he protects Xuanzang on his Journey to the West. If you continue to obstruct him, I fear we will truly not escape a fatal fate?"

Having heard the Rakshasa Woman’s words, the Bull Demon King’s eyes moved, and he seriously pondered her words.

Realizing that Rakshasa Woman spoke for his benefit, and after all, it was just a matter of lending a fan, which was nothing compared to losing one’s life.

"Alright, if you and the macaque are willing to spare us, then the Banana Leaf Fan is yours to borrow!"

The Bull Demon King sighed inwardly.

As for taking action against those of Buddhism, he would have to be tired of living to consider it.

Sun Wukong turned to Zhu Bajie, "Idiot, take the Banana Leaf Fan, let’s go!"

Zhu Bajie snatched the Banana Leaf Fan offered by the Rakshasa Woman and then returned to Flame Mountain with Sun Wukong.

Watching Zhu Bajie and Sun Wukong depart, the Rakshasa Woman embraced the Bull Demon King.

Sun Wukong, holding the Banana Leaf Fan, returned to Flame Mountain, which was still engulfed in flames for eight hundred li.

"Land Deity!"

Sun Wukong called out loudly.

A puff of smoke rose from the ground.

A small old man appeared before Sun Wukong.

"Land Deity, how is my master now?" Sun Wukong quickly asked.

"To report to the Great Saint, the Holy Monk is not gravely harmed; he is just in a coma. Extinguishing the fire of Flame Mountain should bring no issues," replied the Land Deity promptly.

Xuanzang had Buddha’s light to protect him, so no serious issues would arise so swiftly.

"Brother Monkey, it seems we’re still in time, let’s take action at once!"

On the side, Zhu Bajie also urged anxiously.

"Alright!"

Sun Wukong knew there was no time to waste, nodded, and stepped forward.

Sun Wukong hastily raised the Banana Leaf Fan and swung it with all his might, and saw the Flame Mountain extinguish its flames calmly and silently.

Seeing this, a look of joy couldn’t help but appear on Sun Wukong’s face. He fanned again, and a gentle breeze started to rustle softly.

With the third swing, the sky was filled with dense clouds, and a light rain began to drizzle.

Just three swings of the fan, and the eight hundred miles of the Flame Mountain’s flames were completely extinguished. Not a single flame could be seen anymore.

Sun Wukong marveled inwardly at the fan’s potency. Indeed, it was a wonderful treasure.

Suddenly, he recalled what the local Land Deity had once told him: the local peasants would usually prepare gifts and pray to Iron Fan Princess to extinguish the fires. After the fire ceased and the crops for the year were harvested, the flames would erupt anew.

Although the fire on Flame Mountain had nothing to do with him, as it was the Grand Elder of the Supreme Way who had accidentally started it, it could still be considered a challenge set by the Immortals and Buddhas.

And this matter had also arisen because of him.

Besides, by eliminating the fire hazard, he was accumulating virtue. Therefore, he lifted the Banana Leaf Fan again and fanned forty-six more times, bringing the total to forty-nine, before he finally stopped.

The eight hundred miles of Flame Mountain were now engulfed in fierce winds and a torrential downpour. Sun Wukong said joyfully, "It truly is a wonderful treasure!"

Inside the Flame Mountain, the heavy rain poured down, while outside the sky was clear for thousands of miles.

It seemed that rain would only fall where there was fire, and where there was no fire, the sky would be clear.

After the fires were extinguished, the Fire-Avoiding Cloak immediately became visible, and inside, Sand Monk was anxiously watching Xuanzang enveloped in Buddha’s light.

Although the Fire-Avoiding Cloak had shielded Xuanzang from the flames, the heat of the fire had still penetrated the cloak without any obstruction.

Xuanzang at this moment was drenched in sweat, and it seemed that had it not been for this development, he might have suffered.

The rain permeated through the Fire-Avoiding Cloak, drenching both Xuanzang and Sand Monk.

The cool water jolted Xuanzang awake, and he opened his eyes.

Feeling the rain, Sand Monk was overjoyed and loudly exclaimed, "Master, we are saved!"

Seemingly hearing Sand Monk’s voice, the Wide-Eyed celestial King above in the heavens, upon hearing the shout, retracted the Fire-Avoiding Cloak.

Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie also rushed over and asked, "Master, how are you feeling now?"

Xuanzang said weakly, "I’ll be fine, just a little exhausted. I just need some rest. Thank you all."

"No problem, as long as Master is alright," Sun Wukong said with a chuckle.

"Brother Monkey, what should we do with this fan?"

Zhu Bajie looked at the fan in Sun Wukong’s hand and asked with some hesitation.

"Naturally, we’ll keep it. It might come in handy if we encounter any dangers in the future!"

Sun Wukong had no intention of returning the fan to the Rakshasa Women.

If the treasures he had obtained at the Helmet Armor Palace had not been taken back, he wouldn’t have needed to borrow it in the first place.

And besides, he might encounter formidable foes in the future.

"Brother Monkey is just greedy!"

Zhu Bajie couldn’t help but click his tongue and say.

"What nonsense are you spouting, you fool? Who knows what trouble we’ll encounter along the way!" Sun Wukong glared at Zhu Bajie and said.

By this time, it was getting late, so the group tidied up their belongings and had to stay overnight on Flame Mountain.

Since the fire of Flame Mountain had been extinguished and would never reignite, they naturally did not need to rush on their journey.

The next morning, the travelers packed up and continued their Journey to the West, and after managing to pass the eight hundred miles of Flame Mountain and traveling for several days, they came upon a city.

Tang Monk, riding on his horse, looked at the distant city and asked, "Wukong, see how those pavilions and towers stand majestically against the sky. What place might that be?"

Sun Wukong looked up carefully and said with a smile, "Master, that city must be the residence of an emperor."

Zhu Bajie laughed and said, "The world has its towns and counties, each with its own city. How do you know this city belongs to an emperor?"

Sun Wukong explained with a smile, "You don’t know that an emperor’s dwelling is different from that of towns and counties."

"You see there are over a dozen gates around it, and it spans more than a hundred miles. Towering pavilions amidst swirling clouds and mist. If not the Imperial Capital, what else could exhibit such splendor?"

Sand Monk also couldn’t help but laugh and say, "Big brother indeed has sharp eyes. But although we know it’s an emperor’s residence, we still don’t know its name, do we?"

Sun Wukong observed carefully and shook his head, "Without a plaque or flags, how could we possibly know its name? We’ll find out once we ask someone in the city."

Zhu Bajie said cheerfully, "Who cares which country or state it is, as long as there’s something to eat once we’re inside the city."

"You fool, all you think about is eating!"

Upon hearing Zhu Bajie’s words, Sun Wukong laughed and scolded him.
