Chapter 300: Chapter 301 Good Demons, Still Recognize Your Grandpa Sun
Seeing that Xuanzang didn’t speak,
Grand Tutor had already walked over, respectfully addressing Xuanzang, "Royal Uncle Grandpa, please join our king in the dragon carriage and enter the palace together."
Under Sun Wukong’s gaze, Xuanzang also naturally couldn’t decline any further and begrudgingly made his way over.
The queen smiled, taking Xuanzang’s hand, and said, "Please, Imperial Older Brother, join me in the dragon carriage to ascend to the Golden Luang Treasure Hall and become my husband."
Xuanzang remained silent, simply wishing it would be over quickly.
He then boarded the dragon carriage with the queen, and a court lady shouted loudly, "The carriage shall now return to the palace."
The queen’s procession immediately turned back towards the palace.
Many court ladies, upon seeing this scene, were also extremely excited.
Under the Grand Tutor’s lead, Sun Wukong and his two companions followed the queen’s imperial procession into the city, continuing towards the Royal Palace along the main street.
Atop the dragon carriage, with a beautiful woman at his side, Xuanzang was full of worry, remaining on guard.
Fearing the painted skeleton in his arms might act inappropriately toward him, ruining his monastic duty.
The queen, seeing Xuanzang silent for a long time, smiled and asked, "I see Imperial Older Brother has a concerned expression, as if something’s on your mind. Feel free to share with me."
The queen leaned her whole body against Xuanzang, rubbing against him as the dragon carriage swayed.
Xuanzang, undistracted, brought his hands together and chanted, "Amitabha Buddha!"
Xuanzang said calmly and evenly, "Your Majesty is unaware that along with my disciples, I set out from Chang’an heading for the Western Heaven seeking scriptures. An odyssey tens of thousands of miles long, it took nearly ten years to arrive at the Xiliang Women’s Country."
"Having been through much together, our bonds are deep. Now that I am to wed Your Majesty, the thought of parting with Wukong and the others brings me some sorrow."
The queen smiled and replied, "Is that difficult? If Imperial Older Brother finds it hard to part with them, why not simply keep them here?"
Xuanzang sighed softly and said, "You are not aware, we are on a mission to seek scriptures, how can we abandon it halfway?"
"Then let them stay for a few more days," the queen suggested.
"No, no, their quest for scriptures cannot be delayed on my account. It would be best if Your Majesty could expedite the exchange of their travel documents and see them off on their journey!"
The queen harbored no suspicions, content as long as Imperial Older Brother could stay with her. The departure of his disciples was of little consequence.
Finally insisting, they returned to the Royal Palace, where the queen first escorted Xuanzang and the others to the Eastern Pavilion, where officials had already prepared a banquet.
Seeing the table laden with a variety of foods, Zhu Bajie’s mouth began to water; he picked up a dish, ready to dig in eagerly.
"Shall we begin the meal now!"
Seeing this scene, the queen also spoke with a smile.
"Then your humble disciple won’t stand on ceremony." As soon as the queen finished speaking, Zhu Bajie began to eat and drink heartily, cheeks flapping.
As queen, she naturally couldn’t avoid playing the good host.
Lifting her cup for a hearty drink.
With fine wine and dishes on the table, and singing and dancing below to add to the fun, happy times always seem brief, and before they knew it, an hour had passed.
By this time, it was getting late, and the queen couldn’t remember how much she had drunk, her face slightly flushed, revealing her tipsy state.
She then returned to her chambers with the assistance of the Grand Tutor.
"I didn’t expect the queen to get drunk and leave Master behind. She should have asked Master to attend to her!"
Zhu Bajie was still eating and drinking, muttering doubtfully.
"Bajie, don’t talk nonsense!"
Xuanzang rebuked him sternly.
"I think Bajie is right this time!"
Sun Wukong couldn’t help but laugh, "Perhaps they will seek you out soon, Master!"
During the conversation, footsteps were heard.
A court lady came in.
"Royal Uncle Grandpa, Her Majesty the Queen requests your presence."
Xuanzang, who was about to speak, furrowed his brow upon hearing this and quickly asked, "May I know what affair Her Majesty the Queen has with this humble monk?"
The court lady hastily replied, "Her Majesty commands Imperial Younger Brother Tang to exchange the travel documents. Tomorrow, Her Majesty the Queen will arrange a banquet to bid farewell to the elders."
"That would be best." Xuanzang breathed a sigh of relief, glad to be able to leave Woman Kingdom. He nodded without suspicion and said.
"Wait a moment, let me have a word with my master."
With that, Sun Wukong pulled Xuanzang aside.
"Wukong, what should I do?"
Being summoned in the middle of the night, Xuanzang was also somewhat anxious.
"No need to worry, Master. Old Sun will protect you from nearby!"
Sun Wukong spoke with a smile, "However, if Master loses self-control, Old Sun has no solution for that!"
"Nonsense, since when does this poor monk lack self-restraint!"
Xuanzang snorted coldly.
"If so, then please go ahead, Master!"
Sun Wukong made a gesture of invitation.
Seeing Xuanzang ready to leave, the court lady quickly went up to him, respectfully saying, "Royal Uncle Grandpa, please follow me to see the carriage."
Xuanzang nodded, brought his hands together, and said, "Amitabha Buddha, please lead the way, honored official."
"Royal Uncle Grandpa, right this way!" The court lady led Xuanzang off in one direction.
To those remaining and enjoying the feast, Sun Wukong said, "You stay here and eat. I’ll go have a look!"
"Big brother, watching them all lovey-dovey, what is there to see?"
Zhu Bajie said somewhat speechlessly.
"You nitwit, don’t talk nonsense. I just sensed some monster energy and wanted to investigate, that’s all!"
Sun Wukong said with a laugh.
"Oh? There’s monster energy in the palace?"
Sand Monk said with some surprise.
...
At this time, Xuanzang followed the winding path and finally arrived outside a bustling palace.
The court lady said respectfully, "Please wait a moment, Royal Uncle Grandpa, this honored official will go in and report first."
"Amitabha Buddha," Xuanzang intoned, closing his eyes slightly, remaining silent.
The court lady turned and went inside; after a short while, she came back and said with a smile, "Royal Uncle Grandpa, Her Majesty invites you in."
"Thanks for your efforts. Amitabha Buddha," Xuanzang said as he walked slowly inside.
Then the door behind him closed.
At this moment, Xuanzang was still puzzled and looked inside, only to see, from behind the heavy drapes, a graceful figure, both hidden and apparent.
"Greetings to Your Majesty. May I know why you wished to see this humble monk here?"
Xuanzang was somewhat flustered. Although he had already guessed that the Queen would surely take some action, he never imagined it would be so blatant.
This was the first time he had ever visited a woman’s boudoir, let alone a Queen’s.
"Imperial Older Brother, look at me; do I look beautiful?"
Behind the drapes, the shadow was faintly discernible; the Queen leaned lazily on the bed, looking very languid.
She was now watching Xuanzang.
Xuanzang, being gazed at in such a way, also felt somewhat disconcerted, unsure how to react.
"Your Majesty, although this humble monk has indeed agreed to become the Queen’s consort, the ceremony has not yet been conducted. Please, Your Majesty, be dignified!"
Hearing Xuanzang’s words, the Queen slowly lifted the drapes and then calmly walked towards Xuanzang.
"Imperial Older Brother!"
The Queen, looking at Xuanzang with affection, leaned in closer.
However, Xuanzang remained with his hands pressed together, showing a calm countenance.
"Imperial Older Brother, you must understand my feelings towards you now!"
The Queen gazed at Xuanzang, filled with admiration.
But Xuanzang did not pay any attention to the Queen, looking away instead.
"Amitabha Buddha, I request that Your Majesty quickly exchanges the passports for my disciples and allows them to depart!"
Xuanzang could not bear to have such a tender-hearted woman staring at him.
Even though the Queen’s beauty could overturn states, it still could not shake his resolve.
"Imperial Older Brother, as long as you stay with me, all this is easy. I’m even willing to offer the Xiliang Women’s Country as a betrothal gift, just to be with you!"
The Queen looked at Xuanzang, hoping he would agree and fulfill her wishes.
But by now, she could somewhat see that Xuanzang seemed to have other ideas and did not truly want to be with her.
"Imperial Older Brother, don’t you really have any feelings for me?"
The Queen felt a bit heartbroken and her fine eyebrows were slightly furrowed.
Xuanzang remained silent, still not looking at the Queen.
Seeing that Xuanzang was not responding, the Queen twisted her body to face him and said, "Imperial Older Brother, why won’t you answer me?"
Xuanzang was at a loss for words.
He was a monk, and monks do not speak falsehoods.
"Your Majesty, please let this poor monk go. This monk wishes only to seek scriptures. Please be magnanimous!"
Hearing Xuanzang’s words, the Queen’s eyes filled with tears, crying like rain on pear blossoms.
Seeing the Queen cry so for him, Xuanzang felt some compassion.
It is often said, "Buddha is merciful." Although he had his own Buddha in his heart, he definitely wasn’t a heartless Buddha.
"Imperial Older Brother, you must still care about me, right?"
The Queen looked at Xuanzang with reluctance and said, "Imperial Older Brother, please don’t go. Stay here with me, let us share in glory and wealth, over vast territories and mountains!"
The Queen said to Xuanzang with excitement.
Xuanzang shook his head and said, "Please comport yourself with dignity, Your Majesty. This humble monk must take his leave."
As he spoke, Xuanzang turned to leave.
But as he turned to go, the Queen grabbed his waist.
"Ah, Imperial Older Brother, please don’t go, will you?"
The Queen sighed as she spoke.
Xuanzang tried to break free, but the Queen held onto him tightly, refusing to let go.
Warm and fragrant like jade, she lingered by his side, and Xuanzang could even smell the faint scent coming from the Queen.
"Your Majesty, please remove your hands from this poor monk; such behavior is indeed unreasonable!"
Xuanzang frowned as he spoke.
The Queen clung tightly to Xuanzang, resting her head on his back, her voice tearful and pleading.
"Imperial Older Brother, please stay!"
And at that moment, a face appeared at the window, watching them.
It was the Pipa Spirit.
Seeing that Xuanzang had let his guard down, she knew all she needed was this chance to take Xuanzang away, and then his flesh would be hers.
But as she reached out and cast her spell to abduct Xuanzang, she was enveloped by an icy chill, as if someone’s gaze was on her.
The Pipa Spirit looked over and saw a monkey-faced figure watching her.
"You are Sun Wukong!"
The Pipa Spirit exclaimed in shock.
"Well, well, demon. You recognize your Grandpa Sun!"
