Chapter 275: Chapter 276 This Oil Pot is Not Hot

The King of the Cart Slow Kingdom watched as Sun Wukong split open his belly and ripped out his heart, shocked to the core, and hurriedly cradled the pass permit in his palm, looking towards Sun Wukong and his companions.

"Gentlemen, this is the pass permit. You should set off on your journey as soon as possible, so as not to delay your Journey to the West!"

Clearly, the King of the Cart Slow Kingdom was already somewhat afraid at this point.

He had just seen one Great National Advisor die, and he certainly did not want to see another one perish.

After all, he would still need their services to Pray for Rain in the future.

But now, Sun Wukong wasn’t inclined to let these last two off the hook.

Smiling, he said, "The pass permit is a trifling matter, but please, Second National Advisor, do split open your belly and remove your heart as well, so that we too can witness your skill!"

At this moment, the King of the Cart Slow Kingdom looked utterly dejected. Seeing that Sun Wukong and his companions were relentless, he really had no choice but to turn his head towards the Luli Immortal and say, "Second National Advisor, there is nothing I can do about this. You insisted on opposing these monks, and now they won’t let you go. If you must compete, then go quickly!"

The Luli Immortal, noticing the King’s worried expression, then gave the King a reassuring look and said, "Fear not, Your Majesty. I definitely will not lose to him in splitting open my belly and carving out my heart!"

Having said this, just like Sun Wukong before him, the Luli Immortal swaggered onto the execution ground!

He showed no fear and then took up a short dagger and went to cut open his own belly.

With a slicing sound, the Luli Immortal’s abdomen was split open.

He too started to handle the contents skillfully.

As he manipulated the organs, he looked triumphantly towards Sun Wukong, as if to say that he could easily perform this little trick as well.

Upon witnessing this, Sun Wukong promptly plucked one of his Monkey Furs, breathed a breath of Immortal Qi onto it, and cried, "Change!"

Instantly, the Monkey Fur turned into a mighty eagle.

No sooner had the eagle appeared than it spread its wings and swooped down on the Luli Immortal.

It snatched away all the organs that Luli had exposed and then, with a flap of its wings, it flew off to parts unknown to feast.

As the eagle took flight, the Luli Immortal was stunned; without anything inside his belly, how could he live?

Not long after, the Luli Immortal fell to the ground, devoid of life.

The executioner dragged the body of the Luli Immortal out for inspection.

All who saw it were astounded beyond measure.

The Luli Immortal had turned into a White Fur Deer.

Seeing this, the execution supervising officer hurriedly ran to report to the King, "Your Majesty, the Second National Advisor is dead, his guts taken by an eagle to who knows where, and even in death, he’s turned into a White Fur Deer!"

Upon hearing this, the King of the Cart Slow Kingdom felt a twinge of fear. The Great National Advisor had become a Yellow Fur Tiger, and now the Second National Advisor had turned into a White Fur Deer.

Could it be that all the State Preceptors of the Cart Slow Kingdom were monsters?

The King of the Cart Slow Kingdom couldn’t help but speak with a trembling voice, "Yangli Immortal, how come one of your elder brothers is a Yellow Fur Tiger and the other a White Fur Deer? Could it be that all of you are monsters?"

The remaining Yangli Immortal replied gravely, "Your Majesty, both of my elder brothers are dead. How could they have turned into beasts? It must be the Blinding Technique used by these monks, all to deceive Your Majesty!"

"This can’t go on. I must avenge my two elder brothers. I still want to gamble with them!"

Hearing Yangli Immortal’s words, the King of the Cart Slow Kingdom hesitated before saying, "Do you still have a way to win against them?"

With a tragic tone, Yangli Immortal said, "I want to gamble with them on the skill of bathing in a boiling oil pot!"

The King of the Cart Slow Kingdom hesitated before saying, "Yangli Immortal, you are the last of my State Preceptors. Do you truly still wish to gamble?"

By now the King realized that those monks were by no means ordinary people. If the gambling were to continue, he feared that his last State Preceptor would also die here.

"Your Majesty need only rest assured. This time, I will surely win against them and avenge my elder brothers!"

Seeing how adamant the Yangli Immortal was, the King of the Cart Slow Kingdom sighed and then ordered a large pot to be brought out, filled with boiling hot oil, for the two of them to gamble with!

Seeing this, Sun Wukong couldn’t help but chuckle and said, "Very well, very well. Old Sun here hasn’t bathed in many days, and I’ve been itching all over these past few days. It’s a wonderful opportunity to have a good bath!"

Once everything was prepared and the wood was placed beneath the large pot, they lit a blazing fire, heating the pot full of oil until it was sizzling hot!

"Monk, you go first!"

After everything was ready, someone said to Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong was about to jump right in, but after taking a few steps, he stopped and turned back to the King of the Cart Slow Kingdom and asked, "I wonder whether we should bathe with literary style or with martial flair?"

Yangli Immortal had no idea what trick Sun Wukong was playing, but confident in his own ability to bathe in boiling oil, he was not afraid of Sun Wukong.

He immediately asked, "What’s the difference between a literary bath and a martial one?"

Seeing that Yangli Immortal was undaunted, Sun Wukong explained, "A literary bath means directly jumping into the oil pot without taking off your clothes, and you can wash any way you please; you can even do somersaults in it if you like!"

"But one thing to remember, during a literary bath, you must not get your clothes dirty. If even a speck of oil stains your clothes, you lose."

No sooner had Sun Wukong finished speaking than Yangli Immortal frowned.

"And what about a martial bath?"

"The martial wash is quite simple," Wukong explained. "Just strip off your clothes, jump in, and you can scrub however you like!"

Hearing Sun Wukong’s words, the King of the Cart Slow Kingdom couldn’t help but look to the Yangli Immortal and asked, "Second National Advisor, do you prefer a literary wash or a martial wash?"

"If this monkey is proposing this method, I’m afraid his clothes have been specially treated to resist boiling oil!"

"I won’t go for a literary wash. I’ll take the martial wash!"

When Sun Wukong heard the Yangli Immortal’s words, he chuckled, "Since you’ve chosen the method, you can’t change your mind!"

"No changing, no changing!"

The Yangli Immortal nodded his head in agreement.

After the Yangli Immortal had decided, Sun Wukong couldn’t help but smile slightly and said, "Then please forgive Old Sun for taking the lead once again!"

With that, the Monkey stripped off his garments and, with a leap, jumped directly into the cauldron of oil. He tumbled around inside as comfortably as if he were frolicking in water, thoroughly enjoying himself!

Yet this scene terrified the onlookers of the Cart Slow Kingdom, causing them to cry out in alarm.

They truly had not expected the Monkey’s abilities to be so great—to endure decapitation, withstand disembowelment, and even bathe in boiling oil.

They feared there was nothing that could possibly give the Monkey any trouble!

Sun Wukong, seeing the shock on everyone’s faces, suddenly had a mischievous idea and decided to tease them.

So, he began to thrash about in the oil cauldron.

After a few flails, he lay still, as if he’d truly been scalded to death by the oil.

Upon witnessing this, the Yangli Immortal’s formerly furrowed brow relaxed, and he was visibly elated.

"Your Majesty, the monkey has been scalded to death by the oil!"

The King of the Cart Slow Kingdom was overjoyed at the sight, thinking that he had finally gotten rid of the nuisance.

The Yangli Immortal, seizing the moment, said, "Your Majesty, now that one demon monk has died, we should throw the rest into the oil to fry them a bit. It would give them some company!"

Hearing the Yangli Immortal’s suggestion, the King did not immediately respond but instead ordered someone to fish around in the oil cauldron.

The executioner tried to fish in the cauldron with his tools but could not find the monkey.

He then reported, "Your Majesty, it appears the monk’s body has been disintegrated by the frying!"

"It seems that the monk is truly dead!"

The King, upon seeing the situation, nodded and declared, "Throw those three monks in as well!"

At the King’s command, the attendants by his side hurriedly prepared to throw Xuanzang and the others into the oil cauldron.

At this moment, the oil in the cauldron suddenly began to churn again, attracting everyone’s attention.

The soldiers of the Cart Slow Kingdom, who had been ready to capture Xuanzang, couldn’t help but turn their gaze to the cauldron.

Indeed, the oil cauldron was bubbling as if something was about to emerge.

Suddenly, a monkey popped its head out.

The executioner, seeing this unfold, simply sat down hard on the ground.

He then hurried to report to the King.

"Your Majesty, the monk hasn’t died and has crawled out of the oil cauldron!"

Sun Wukong also leapt out of the cauldron and landed in front of everyone.

Seeing this, everyone knelt down, begging for mercy. Who could swim back and forth in a pot of boiling oil and still live? Could this be an ordinary person?

The King of the Cart Slow Kingdom, witnessing this scene, was so frightened that he stepped down from the throne, intending to flee.

Such a terrifying monkey—immortal to decapitation, disembowelment, and now, boiling oil. How could he bear to stay?

But as the King descended to leave, Sun Wukong would not allow him to just walk away.

Sun Wukong stepped forward, grabbed the King of the Cart Slow Kingdom, and said with a smile, "Your Majesty, there’s no need to leave in such a hurry. You haven’t yet seen your Cart Slow Kingdom’s Second National Advisor, the Yangli Immortal, take a dip in the oil. If you leave now, you’ll miss the good show!"

Looking at the Yangli Immortal, Sun Wukong’s gaze caused a chill to run down the Immortal’s spine.

Sun Wukong smirked, "What do you say, Second National Advisor? Aren’t you going to take a wash in the oil cauldron?"

Trembling, the King looked to the Yangli Immortal, "Second National Advisor, since the monk has already bathed in the oil, perhaps you should also..."

Seeing no way out, the Yangli Immortal complied.

Just like Sun Wukong before him, he stripped off his clothes, jumped into the cauldron, and began to wash.

Sun Wukong then approached the cauldron, signaling for more fuel to be added to the fire.

Strangely enough, the Yangli Immortal inside the cauldron seemed as relaxed as if he were taking a bath, seemingly unaffected by the searing oil.
