Chapter 862: Six Six Seven - Vastness of Three Fists
"His mentor, his companions, killed your ancestors like this, and still, you choose to side with them?"
Fighting back the rage about to erupt within him, Jiang Chen forced himself to remain patient as he continued to address the crowd.
"Emperor Lord, no more words. Today, we swear to advance and retreat together with our forebear master."
"Though we were born into the Human Race, we were alone and unsupported from a young age, merely holding the identity of the Human Race without ever receiving any benefits from it."
"On the contrary, it was our forebear master who saved us from peril, who taught us Cultivation and Divine Powers, allowing us to step onto the path of Immortal Dao, possess extraordinary power, attain eternal life, and change our own fate."
"The Human Race gave us not a single benefit, whereas our forebear master, though not of the Human Race, changed our fate and enabled us to become immortals and gods."
"Such great kindness, even death would not suffice to repay. Today, as our forebear master faces danger, how can we abandon him?"
"If the Human Race forces us, then this Human Race may as well not exist!"
The disciples of the Human Race within the Four Symbols Sect were incredibly determined, willing to die for the Four Symbols Daoist, even if it meant renouncing their identity as part of the Human Race.
"Absurd!"
"Do you really think that the identity of the Human Race has brought you no benefits?"
"This is truly a colossal joke. Think about it, if you were not born into the Human Race, how would the Four Symbols Daoist, with his status, deem you worthy to be specially chosen as his disciples?"
"Being used without realizing it, yet taking pride in it—such ignorance is beyond cure."
After hearing their responses, Jiang Chen was almost laughed by his anger. These people didn’t seem to consider that as a disciple of Donghuang Taiyi, the Four Symbols Daoist held such an esteemed status—why would he accept Human Race disciples and teach them Cultivation and Divine Powers if he had no ulterior motives?
If he truly wanted disciples, within Dongsheng Divine Continent there were countless Innate Living Beings to choose from. What a joke it was that he instead took disciples from the Human Race.
"All you think about is your lonely and helpless youth, but have you ever thought about why you were so forlorn? Isn’t it because of the Demon Immortals?"
"If not for the Demon Clan’s secret oppression of the Human Race in Dongsheng Divine Continent, repeatedly becoming enemies with our Human Race, how could you have ended up homeless?"
"Your homes were destroyed by the Demon Clan. Yet now, instead of seeking vengeance, you have become the minions of your enemies, faithfully devoted to him and ready to die for his cause."
"Such a disposition is truly despicable. Do you think you’ve done justice to the spirits of your deceased parents and family members?"
Jiang Chen was truly disappointed in these Human Race disciples; he felt that they had been brainwashed too severely by the Four Symbols Daoist and had completely lost themselves.
"Hmph, no matter how eloquently you argue, do you think we will believe you? We see clearly that those who killed our parents and relatives were our own kin!"
"Our own kin harmed us, the outsiders saved us, Emperor Lord, what do you think we should choose?"
Inside the Four Symbols Sect, some disciples sneered, boldly refuting Jiang Chen.
"Hmph, the one who killed your parents takes you as a disciple, and you would forsake the vengeance for your parents?"
Jiang Chen sneered. The severe infighting within the Human Race was indeed true, but it was not a reason for them to betray their race. It was one thing to seek revenge, but to resent the entire race for it was too much.
"The gratitude of imparted teaching has never been a reason for betraying one’s race. The sect may have the grace of imparting Tao, but the Human Race also has the grace of nurturing. Is the grace of imparting Tao greater than the grace of nurturing?"
"Don’t say that the Human Race has never nurtured you. What depended on you being accepted into the Four Symbols Sect? It was your identity as members of the Human Race! And you couldn’t have cultivated to your current realm without the Human Race bloodline in your veins."
"If you truly do not care about your Human Race identity, then why did you not cut off your bloodline and erase the Human Race’s mark from within you when you joined the Four Symbols Sect, completely severing ties with the Human Race and no longer enjoying the benefits brought by the Human Race’s fate?"
"If you had done this, I’d have respected you as worthy individuals, but now, while enjoying the benefits brought by your Human Race identity, you claim the Human Race has given you nothing. Doesn’t such a facade disgust you?"
"You say you’re willing to betray your race for the Four Symbols Daoist, so why don’t you destroy the Human Race’s mark within you and cut off your Human Race bloodline?"
The sword in his hand was humming, flashing with a bone-chilling cold light, for Jiang Chen truly harbored an intent to kill.
The disciples of the Four Symbols Sect, claiming to be willing to betray the Human Race, yet none of them had actually taken the initiative to forsake their Human Race identity.
"Hmph!"
"Just because you say we’re traitors, does that make it so? Do you think you’re the Great Ancient Human King, the ancient Human Emperor, or perhaps an Ancient Times Emperor, able to dictate the rise and fall of the Human Race, and lord over the life and death of all living beings?"
"Our forebear master harbors no enmity with the Human Race; you come to kill without cause, raising arms without right, and act in tyranny, greatly tarnishing our Human Race’s image in Dongsheng Divine Continent. Our resistance is for the good of the Human Race, to prevent you from making grave mistakes and creating enemies for our people!"
In the Four Symbols Sect, some disciples changed their tone, attempting to admonish Jiang Chen in the name of justice.
"Since you are so obstinate, do not blame me for being impolite. I ask you once again, will you retreat, or not?"
Jiang Chen had run out of patience. He had given them chance after chance, but they showed no appreciation, instead persistently defying him, exhausting his patience.
If they were so intent on seeking death, then there was nothing left to say—Jiang Chen was willing to oblige them.
