Chapter 776: Six One Four Three Great Demon Clans_2
Yet, the Gouchen Star is also an imperial star. Even though the Emperor Qi upon it isn’t as intense as that on the Ziwei Star, one shouldn’t underestimate it. These Demon Venerables have been on the Gouchen Star for a long time. If they were to be imbued with Emperor Qi into their Sea of Consciousness, becoming foolish would not be an impossibility.
Right as Jiang Chen was thinking this, on the Gouchen Star, another three strains of immense energies rose, along with which appeared three bright, enduring Innate Divine Lights.
These three enduring Innate Divine Lights intertwined above the starry sky, filling the air with countless Dao rhymes, projecting the phantom of three Dao fruits and emanating a horrifying aura.
Innate Dao Sovereigns!
There were three of them.
Demon Gods, demon gods of ancient times who, during the drastic changes of the Prehistoric World, seized the opportunity, rebelled against the heavens, and became remarkable demons who attained the Innate Dao Sovereign Fruit.
"Who would have thought, on the Gouchen Star there are actually three Demon Gods, no wonder these Demon Venerables are so arrogant, it turned out you are the ones giving them their backbone."
Jiang Chen’s voice echoed through the starry skies, containing subtle fluctuations, creating ripples that shattered the three constantly flickering enduring Innate Divine Lights.
Crash!
The Divine Light shattered, falling like raindrops, transforming into three giant human silhouettes. With ’Five Qis Toward Yuan’ in their chests and ’Three Flowers Gathered Atop’ over their heads, they were displaying extraordinary grace.
’Three Flowers Gathered Atop’ is the symbol of the fulfillment of Dao Venerable’s three realms. In other words, these three demons in front of him were all entities at the stage of complete fulfillment in the Innate Dao Sovereign realm.
"Brother Jiang, you too are an entity that has achieved the Dao Venerable status. There’s no need for you to quibble with these people."
The Dao Venerable at the foremost among the three approached Jiang Chen and said. The other two Dao Venerables behind him were taking away the group of Demon Venerables below them in order to prevent them from being killed by Jiang Chen.
"May I know how to address the three of you? Which Demon Gods are you?"
Although these three demons were all entities in the Dao Venerable Fulfillment Realm, Jiang Chen was not afraid of them. Not mentioning the Heavenly Emperor’s Edict he had on hand, his own strength, infinitely close to Quasi-Saint, there was no need to fear these three Demon Gods.
After Jiang Chen asked, the three Demon Gods shook their heads, not providing an answer to his question, but they pointed out the errors in his words.
"What Brother Jiang says is mistaken. We are not Demon Gods, but Demon Venerables, true Demon Venerables, with no relations at all with the Ancient Demon Clan. Hence, Brother Jiang, you have no need to be hostile towards us."
Not Demon Gods, but Demon Venerables? Unrelated to the Ancient Demon clan?
After a quick thought, Jiang Chen understood the meanings in their words. Firstly, the fact that they said they were unrelated to the Ancient Demon Clan meant their True Spirits were not in the Demon Summoning Banner.
As such, they naturally couldn’t be considered part of the Ancient Demon Clan. Not all transformed species can declare themselves part of the Demon Clan, only those demons whose True Spirits were branded on the Demon Summoning Banner, and their descendants, could be called demons.
Apart from those, the remaining demons were all wild spirits, which could be referred to as demons, but couldn’t bear the name of Demon Clan, and the Demon Clan wouldn’t accept their identity.
The most representative characters among these demons was the Bull Demon King. Despite making quite a noise in the lower realms, rising to the momentum of the first grand demon in the Three Realms,
However, his name was not on the Demon Summoning Banner. He wasn’t part of the Demon clan, and the Demon Clan also wouldn’t accept his identity.
Since these three Dao Venerables weren’t part of the Demon Clan, naturally, they couldn’t consider themselves to be Demon Gods. So, to differentiate themselves, they declared themselves to be Demon Venerables, signifying they were Venerables amongst demons.
At this moment, Jiang Chen finally realized. The term Demon Venerable was originally used to describe these three. Somehow, later on, this term just downgraded and was used by Ancient Demon creatures at the Daluo realm to refer to themselves.
That’s why, when these three Demon Venerables introduced themselves, they specifically stressed that they were the true Demon Venerables.
"So, they are demons, not from the Demon Clan."
"So, the three of you are the three Grand Ancestor Demons, illustrious in ancient tales. I am truly honored."
At this point, all three demons had provided enough clues for Jiang Chen to deduce their identities.
In that ancient time, during the vast changes that befell the Prehistoric World, the two races of the witches and demons, who had dominated the world for countless years, gradually fell into decline and withdrew from the stage of history. Following that, Heaven and Earth underwent a great transformation, transitioning from the Innate Era to the Post-Innate Era step by step.
At that time, the innate spiritual energy was dwindling and the environment for cultivation was becoming increasingly difficult. It was during this time that three peculiar beings rose to prominence.
One was a mountain demon, formed through the transformation of a piece of an ancient divine mountain. Another was a water demon, born from the transformation of a grand marsh. The last one was a sky demon, birthed from the transformation of a fragment of the Nine Heavens.
These three demons were of different types but were born from the same environment. Thus, they knew each other even before they had transformed. Thus, once they had undergone transformation, they recognized each other as brothers and traveled together through the Prehistoric World.
It must be said that these three peculiar beings were born with Great Fortune. In that epoch of great transformations, they managed to attain the Dao Venerable Realm only after tens of millions of years, gaining a formidable reputation in the Prehistoric World.
Later, feeling that it was difficult for beings like them to cultivate without being like the Demon Clan, having their own lineage, they used their divine ability to imprint their Dao between Heaven and Earth. Any being of their kind could resonate with it and thus could comprehend various methods of cultivation.
This granting of Dao by the three demon sovereigns earned them significant merit among their kind. The Heavenly Dao felt this and bestowed a great amount of merit on them to celebrate their deeds. The beings of their kind, grateful for the favors of the three demon sovereigns, revered them as ancestors and called them the Demon Ancestors.
The beings of their kind did this simply to thank the three Demon Ancestors. However, they did not anticipate that being called Demon Ancestors would bring the three of them a great deal of trouble, even catastrophes.
The Demon Clan had merely declined; they had not been extinguished. When three new Demon Ancestors suddenly appeared in this world, how could they tolerate this? Upon learning this news, the Demon Clan was upturned.
One of the ten demon gods, despite his injuries, forcefully emerged from his isolation to kill the three Demon Ancestors.
The ten demon gods of the Demon Clan were all renowned powerhouses in the Prehistoric World. Their combat potency was unquestionable. Even though they were heavily injured, they were still not something the newly-crowned Demon Ancestors could resist.
After that battle, the three Demon Ancestors disappeared without a trace. Jiang Chen thought they had perished but never expected that they had actually sought refuge with the Sky Emperor.
It makes sense though. Given those circumstances, only the Sky Emperor could have saved them. Considering the situation of the Human Race at that time, it was natural not to refuse the allegiance of three Innate Dao Venerables.
As for offending the Demon Clan by doing this? They were mortal enemies in the first place, so where does the question of offending come into it?
"Demon Ancestors!"
Upon hearing this title again, the three Demon Ancestors couldn’t help but grimace.
This was a scene they didn’t want to reminisce about. Because of this title, they almost lost their lives. If it wasn’t for their decision to take refuge with the Human Race, they would’ve become the trophies of the demon gods in the ancient times.
"Brother Jiang, you jest. There’s no such thing as a Demon Ancestor in this world. It’s only a rumor that’s been passed down by the people. We are merely Demon Sovereigns. We could never bear the title of Demon Ancestor."
Even today, the three Demon Sovereigns didn’t dare to claim the title of Demon Ancestor. The depth of the Demon Clan’s foundation was so profound; they could wipe them out, even if they were Innate Dao Sovereigns or even Quasi-Saints.
In fact, without even leaving the Beijulu Continent, the Demon Clan could silently wipe them out.
Actually, even if it was Jiang Chen, the Demon Clan had numerous methods to destroy him without stepping outside their door. If you’re wondering why they don’t, it’s not that they can’t, but they dare not.
The cost was too high, too high for the Demon Clan to afford presently. They feared that no sooner had Jiang Chen fallen that the Beijulu Continent would cease to exist. The rage of the Human Race was a price the Demon Clan couldn’t bear.
However, just because the Demon Clan dared not kill Jiang Chen didn’t mean they wouldn’t dare to kill the three Demon Sovereigns. Ultimately, the status of the two parties was different.
"Haha, why are the three Dao Friends afraid? In the ancient times, the three Dao Friends preached to the ten thousand demons, and so we have today’s prosperity of your kind. To them, you are their ancestors. To call you Demon Ancestors is not excessive."
ps: This book, which was obviously a West Journey fanfiction, somehow turned into an original work. I...
