Journey to the West: I have Nine Golden Crows Inside Me
Chapter 691: Five Five Four Eight Stupas

Chapter 691: Five Five Four Eight Stupas

The Great Divine Transcendents of the Mystic Sect had left, and the deities of the Jiejiao Sect of Heaven Court had also left. The only ones left on Spiritual Mountain were Jiang Chen and the pile of corpses strewn across the entire mountain.

These were the corpses of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of Spiritual Mountain. After the experts of the Mystic Sect had slaughtered them, they did not take their bodies away but left them behind.

Thus, all the corpses now belonged to Jiang Chen. If he were to consume all of these corpses, his Divine Ability of the Eight-Part Buddhahood could transform into a powerful Divine Artifact.

If he was fortunate, the Eight-Part Buddhahood might even become his first Quasi-Saint Divine Artifact.

Even if he was not lucky, after devouring these bodies, the power of the Eight-Part Buddhahood would at least reach a half-step Quasi-Saint level.

"Who?"

Suddenly, standing atop Spiritual Mountain, Jiang Chen felt a sense of alarm and looked into the distance.

As he looked over, he saw several strong figures emerging from the depths of the void, rapidly crossing the vast emptiness and rushing towards Spiritual Mountain.

"So, it’s them. They were lucky to have escaped this catastrophe."

With a thought, Jiang Chen realized the identities of these individuals. There are numerous Buddhas and infinite Bodhisattvas on Spiritual Mountain, making it impossible for all of them to be present on the mountain all the time.

Some had left Spiritual Mountain long ago, seeking breakthroughs, some even left the Three Realms and headed beyond, seeking opportunities in the vast universe.

And now, having received news of Spiritual Mountain’s emergence, they naturally couldn’t sit on the side unaffected. They had to return and take a look, no matter what.

As for why they returned directly to Spiritual Mountain without first hiding and assessing the situation, isn’t it rather simple? Who in their right mind would think that Spiritual Mountain could be annihilated? This was the Spiritual Mountain that held the inheritance of two saints. Despite the vastness of the Prehistoric World, who would dare to annihilate Spiritual Mountain? Weren’t they afraid of death?

Sigh, reality is often this absurd, who could have predicted it?

"What a nuisance!"

For Jiang Chen, the return of these figures was a significant problem. In his vision for the new Buddhist door, there should only be gods named Buddha, and there should be no place for these figures.

Now that they have returned, Jiang Chen would need to make room for them in an already filled Buddhist door. This was no small feat as the place was already taken up by the Buddhas, leaving no spare slots for these guys.

"Indeed, it would have been better to kill them all."

Gazing at the people rushing towards Spiritual Mountain, the idea of murder arose in Jiang Chen’s mind. It would be easiest for him if they were all dead.

Unfortunately, before Jiang Chen could make a move, two grand voices echoed down from the sky:

"The apocalypse has arrived, and the many Buddhas have fallen. The great virtuous king Buddha emerges defying all odds, quelling the apocalypse, rebuilding the Great Thunderclap Temple amid ruins, saving all beings from disaster, possessing boundless merit. He should henceforth be known as the Buddha of Boundless Merit."

"So-called enlightenment is self-awareness, resulting in immense freedom and ultimate happiness. The Buddha of Merit has such aspiration, and thus may also be deemed the Free King Buddha of the World."

These were the accolades bestowed upon Jiang Chen by Zhunti and the Jieyin Saint; one named him the Buddha of Boundless Merit and the other declared him the Free King Buddha of the World.

As such, with three Buddha titles, Jiang Chen had the right to claim Spiritual Mountain, becoming the new supreme of the Buddhist door.

The figures returning to Spiritual Mountain from outside were initially taken aback by the devastated state of the mountain. But before they could fully comprehend what had happened, the voices of the two Western Saints echoed in their ears.

"We owe obedience to our Buddha!"

These figures reacted swiftly. While they were not aware of what had happened to Spiritual Mountain, they knew that the two Western Saints had recognized Jiang Chen’s status. They had nothing to say, and went straight to pay obeisance to the new supreme of the Buddhist door.

"Great is the King Buddha of Grand Virtue!"

"Infinite is the Buddha of Boundless Merit!"

"Holy is the Free King Buddha of the World!"

The sounds of praise resonated in Jiang Chen’s ears. It would be inappropriate to take action against them in such a situation, but it would be just as unsuitable to let them leave as they were.

With a thought, Jiang Chen came up with a plan.

"Although the demons occupying Spiritual Mountain have been repelled, it cannot be guaranteed they will not make trouble again. All of you should quickly proceed to Buddha Hell and guard there. Do not let the demons release the sinners inside."

Since there was no place for them on Spiritual Mountain, Jiang Chen had no choice but to dispatch them to Buddha Hell.

If they obediently stayed in Buddha Hell, there would be no problem. However, if they caused trouble and allowed any of the sinful Buddhas to escape, Jiang Chen would show no mercy and turn them from guards of Buddha Hell into inmates.

What?

Demons occupying Spiritual Mountain?

Though they were confused by Jiang Chen’s words, the figures dared not to ask any questions. After a glance at each other, they headed for Buddha Hell.

After they left, Jiang Chen used his Divine Ability to seal off Spiritual Mountain, beginning the fulfillment of his recent vow - collecting the corpses of the Buddhas and building the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall for them.

Building the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall was rather simple. With a thought, Jiang Chen drew on the incense and willpower which then transformed into the structure of the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall on one corner of Spiritual Mountain.

After achieving enlightenment on the Tao of reality and illusion, the boundary between what was real and what was fake was blurred for Jiang Chen. For many insignificant things, a mere thought from him was enough to make the fake real or to make the real illusionary.

"That’s not right!"

After gazing at the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall in front of him for a while, Jiang Chen shook his head, unsatisfied. He decided to dismantle it.

The Ten Thousand Buddha Hall shouldn’t be built here, but within the Eight-Part Buddhahood, which would then attract the offerings of all beings.

"Eight-Part Buddhahood, rise!"

Jiang Chen performed a Divine Ability and a pagoda-like structure gradually rose behind him.

This structure, which resembled an eight-story pagoda, was the resting place of the Buddhas, a cemetery for ten thousand Buddhas – the Eight-Part Buddhahood.

"Collect!"

As soon as the Eight-Part Buddhahood appeared, it emitted a strong suction from its base, swallowing up all the nearby corpses of the Buddhas.

With each corpse it absorbed, the Eight-Part Buddhahood grew larger, became more solid, and its power increased.

Visibly, the size of the Eight-Part Buddhahood expanded rapidly to the size of a mountain range, looming enormously overhead of Spiritual Mountain, covering the entire peak.

At this point, the suction force emanating from the Eight-Part Buddhahood had already covered the entire Spiritual Mountain.

One could see that corpse after corpse of Buddha and Bodhisattvas were rising from the ground, being absorbed into the Eight-Part Buddhahood, and, based on their strengths, were placed in order from lowest to highest in each of the eight levels of the Buddhahood.

Hum, hum, hum ...

The Buddhist light emitted from the Eight-Part Buddhahood grew increasingly radiant, resembling a small Sun.

At the same time, from inside the Buddhahood, there sounded a loud chanting of scriptures, deep and melodious, touching the deepest recesses of one’s soul, producing an indescribable sense of calmness.

The images of countless Buddhas appeared around the Eight-Part Buddhahood, appearing to be praising its greatness.

Eventually, all the corpses on Spiritual Mountain were absorbed by the Eight-Part Buddhahood, and it thus solidified into a true form.

With a thunderous crash, the gigantic Eight-Part Buddhahood fell from the sky to become the second-largest structure on Spiritual Mountain, after the Great Thunderclap Temple.
