Chapter 490: The Way of the Earth Emperor in the 444_3
The Emperor of Mankind did not kill, yet he had the power to subdue humans.
The Earth Emperor’s life perfectly illustrated this saying. Without mobilizing a single soldier, he won the hearts of a myriad of races, discouraging them from drawing swords, from waging wars.
The period of the Earth Emperor’s reign might well be the most peaceful era in the history of the Prehistoric World.
Various races coexisted peacefully, and even when there were discordances or conflicts, they did not resort to warfare. Instead, they would journey to the Ancestral Land of the Human Race and ask the Earth Emperor for judgement.
Back then, the Earth Emperor was seen as the sky of the Prehistoric World, his prestige was unmatched and revered by all races.
When the Earth Emperor’s daughter drowned in the Eastern Sea, the Dragon Clan, which had been dominating the Prehistoric World for years, demonstrated fear and submission. For being at odds with the Earth Emperor meant being at odds with all races.
The ones who marched towards the Eastern Sea were not only humans.
The Earth Emperor ruled the Human Race for millions of years without raising arms, waging wars, or launching external invasions; he was merely recuperating and nurturing life. This approach allowed the Human Race to accumulate an immense foundation while simultaneously establishing its status as the protagonist of Heaven and Earth.
By the end of the Earth Emperor’s reign, the strength of the Human Race had far exceeded that of all other races.
The reason why internal strife erupted within the Human Race during the Enlightenment of the human emperor was that under the Earth Emperor’s rule, the strength of all factions within the Human Race was greatly enhanced.
No other race could stand a chance against the Human Race. With external pressure absent, internal chaos ensued.
The Earth Emperor’s achievements lay in his role bridging the old and the new; without his groundwork, there would be no prosperity in the later era of the human emperor.
In that era, the Earth Emperor was the light in the hearts of all beings. The Tao he pursued was light too; born in the dark, he vowed to become light, to become the sun, to illuminate the darkness and bring light to the world.
Shining through the darkness, bringing forth light, that was the Earth Emperor’s Tao of the Sun.
...
Di Jun, too, pursued the Tao of the Sun, but in a different manner. His Tao of the Sun was to regard himself as the sun, grand and luminous, high above all, limitless and boundless, possessing the power to destroy Heaven and Earth.
As for Taiyi’s Tao of the Sun, it was the Tao of the Golden Crow. The Golden Crow had one body, two wings, and three feet, symbolizing the Tao giving birth to one, one giving birth to two, two giving birth to three, and three giving birth to all things.
Therefore, Taiyi’s Tao of the Sun was one of creation and destruction, capable of engendering or annihilating all things.
...
......
Jiang Chen had received the legacies of these three beings and had dipped into all of them. As he moved, beams of golden light, lines of Golden Crows, and rounds of the sun constantly flew out of his hands, charging towards the flock of Fire Ravens.
Boom, boom, boom!
With the explosive power of the sun, the flock of Fire Ravens fell like raindrops, only to explode into clusters of Innate Fire Essence, which were then absorbed by the sunlight, the sun, and the Golden Crows.
Jiang Chen was fierce, and the Fire Ravens were not to be outdone. The death of their comrades did not incite fear, but rather, it provoked their savagery and produced a stronger form of Innate Fire.
Eventually, quantitative change led to qualitative change, and the Innate Fire abruptly transformed into Netherworld Fire, engaging in a ferocious conflict with the Sun Divine Fire, forming wave after wave of heat waves, scorching the void and rushing towards Jiang Chen and his companions.
Under the pressure of the Netherworld Fire, Jiang Chen suddenly had a realization. He fused the golden light, the sun, and the Golden Crow into a considerably larger Great Sun, which gradually rose and radiated the essence of the Limitless.
"Great Sun Limitless, encompass all, go!"
Having this insight, Jiang Chen integrated these three sun Taos with his Yin-Yang Taiji Tao, elevating them all and transforming them into the Great Sun, expressing the Tao of the Limitless.
This is known as the Great Sun Limitless!
The one who contains all is like the one who contains Heaven and Earth. As one contains all things, one is never exhausted. As one contains Heaven and Earth, one is limitless.
Limitless, without a single limit, without a single omission... no omission, which means Taiji.
Limitless is Chaos, is Taiyi.
Jiang Chen exhausted the principles of Taiji, had sudden enlightenment one day, and grasped the Tao of the Limitless, transforming it into a Supreme Divine Power.
One could see wherever the Great Sun passed, it twisted everything, returning all things to the Limitless.
The Netherworld Fire that encountered the Great Sun was absorbed by the Great Sun, while the Fire Ravens around were destroyed by the power of the Limitless before they could get close to the Great Sun.
It was then that Jiang Chen understood his own Tao. His Tao was not only Yin and Yang Taiji, but also the Three Forces and Four Symbols, the Five Elements and Eight Diagrams, the Innate Qi...
He sought to implement the principles of the Five Taos of the Innate, to understand the process of Chaos transforming into Heaven and Earth. He wanted to comprehend the roots of Yin, Yang, and the Five Elements, to understand the foundation of the creation of Heaven and Earth. To understand the essence of the Three Forces and Four Symbols, so as to understand the various orders of Heaven and Earth.
Once these are achieved, Jiang Chen’s Tao would be complete. In a blink of an eye, he could produce and annihilate Chaos, transform Yin and Yang and the Five Elements, operate the Three Forces and Four Symbols...and myriad Innate Taos.
This Tao could be perceived as both difficult and non-difficult. It is difficult as this Tao encompasses a vast range: Five Taos of the Innate, Yin and Yang and the Five Elements, Three Forces and Four Symbols...all are included.
It is non-difficult as all these Innate Taos are of the same essence, they can transform into one another. As long as the principle of operation is understood, they can be transformed at will.
Just like the Tao of the Limitless. Once refined, all sorts of Innate Taos can be evolved from it.
As for the Tao of Yin and Yang, it can evolve into the Tao of the Five Elements when advanced. It can transform into the Tao of the Limitless when withdrawn.
...
Engrossed in enlightenment, Jiang Chen moved and plunged directly into the flock of Fire Ravens. The Great Sun Limitless kept being released, becoming gradually refined in his confrontation with the Netherworld Fire.
At a certain moment, Jiang Chen suddenly became aware that tens of thousands of Fire Ravens surrounding him had been slain by him.
Before him, a Great Sun hung quietly, containing a mass of fiery red gas, burning like flames and emitting a scorching aura.
That was the essence of the Innate Fire, a type of the Original Source of Fire. It was transformed from tens of thousands of Fire Ravens that Jiang Chen killed.
"What a pleasant surprise!"
Gazing at the Great Sun beside him, Jiang Chen’s face flashed with joy. After a fierce battle, he finally shook off the restraints of his predecessors and started to set foot on his own path.
Golden light, the sun, and the Golden Crow, although they were powerful, they were others’ Divine Abilities, others’ understandings of the Tao, not Jiang Chen’s. Yet this Great Sun beside him was his own, encapsulating his understanding of the Tao.
