Chapter 434: Chapter 414: Jiang Chen’s Disdain (5000)_2

Although Jiang Chen’s face was expressionless, the murderous intent in his voice was plainly obvious. Xia Ji recognized this and dared not provoke Jiang Chen further. As such, he said:

"I am aware of the incidents that have occurred. Indeed, the Divine Race’s young master was at fault. His death by the Emperor Lord’s hand, was his own doing and no one else’s fault."

"The ancestral land will inevitably give the Emperor Lord an explanation-the Divine Race’s clan chief himself will come in a few days to apologize to the Emperor Lord, he will do his utmost to pacify the Emperor Lord."

Xia Ji’s words showed sincerity, asking the Divine Race’s Chieftain to personally apologize to the murderer of his own son. This lesson was a stern one that the Divine Race would remember for a lifetime.

However, Jiang Chen was still not satisfied!

Jiang Chen looked at Xia Ji and with a smile said, "Your gesture of apology pleases me. But what about the common people outside? Those who have been oppressed by the Divine Race for years, are they satisfied?"

"No, they are not!"

"They resent the Divine Race, yet hate the inactive higher-ups of the Human Race, even more."

"This hatred, much like a seed, is firmly planted in their hearts. As time passed, it grew roots and sprouted, eventually turning into a colossal tree, burning like a flame, turning both Xia Du and the Human Race’s higher levels into ashes."

"You may not care about them, but I do, and if you will not seek justice for them, I will."

"What nonsense is the master plan of the Human Race’s higher-ups! I am also among the higher-ups of the Human Race. If it were really the master plan of the Human Race’s higher-ups, then why wasn’t I informed about it?"

"Could it be that those who are blinded by self-interest are using the banner of the high human race to fulfill some personal desires?" After a pause, Jiang Chen thundered: "Elder Cheng, what are you waiting for?"

Taken aback, Elder Cheng became alert. He picked up the Divine Race young master’s corpse from the ground and quickly made his escape. Xia Ji wanted to stop him but was silenced by Jiang Chen’s murderous gaze.

Once Elder Cheng had left, Jiang Chen’s tone softened and he said to Xia Ji, "Xia Ji, what I’m doing is for your sake too. Didn’t you worry about people causing trouble in Xia Du?"

"Well, that’s settled now. Once the corpse of the young master of the Divine Race is hung out for everyone to see, they will naturally calm down out of fear."

"This is what is meant by ’killing a chicken to scare the monkey!’"

With a sigh, Xia Ji replied in an exasperated tone, "Jiang Chen, this is a grave mistake. You’ve disrupted the plan of the Human Race, the people at the ancestral land will certainly not let you off."

At this point, Jiang Chen also pondered on the spanner he threw in the works—what exactly was it?

The term ’alien’ refers to those who diverge from the normal.

The Human Race was birthed in the Great Ancient period, an era of saints. The human race has grown for countless years since then. During this time, intermarriage with foreign races was inevitable, which led to different branches within the Human Race.

They hold the identity of the Human Race, yet possess unusual appearances or abilities when compared to ordinary people. For instance, those covered in scales, winged humanoid creatures, or those capable of spewing fire, etc.

Among these, the most potent is the Witch Clan, with Chiyou as their leader. Apart from them, there are powerful sub-races such as the Dragon People and Heavenly people.

The birth of the ’Alien People’ is related to this.

As time went by, the attitudes of certain Alien People began to change. They began to see themselves as naturally-born deities, inherently wielding powerful abilities.

After a series of upheavals, certain branches of the Human Race announced their departure and founded their own factions.

These departures were collectively termed ’Alien People’ by the Human Race of that time.

The Divine Race is just a faction amongst many Alien forces. Apart from them, there are also the Jiao People, Feather Clan, Fire Spirit Race, Three-eyed Divine Race, and so on.

Xia Ji’s words brought some clarity to the plot designs hatched by those at the ancestral land for Jiang Chen.

The Divine Race was indeed disregarded by them; their actual target was the entire Alien People force.

If they could bring these powers under the command of the Human Race, the fate of humanity would surge. Consequently, they would also advance as the tide rises, under the counterforce of the Human Race’s fate.

This was a win-win plan. If successful, the Human Race would benefit and so would they.

And the ones sacrificed were merely the ordinary clansmen outside the ancestral land. What did it matter to them?

As for why they treated the Divine Clan favorably?

The objective was simple: to entice with benefits. Through continuously bestowing favors to the Divine Clan, the other Alien factions would be enticed, encouraging a return to the Human Race and subsequent rewards.

The Alien People were no fools—they were well aware of the plot hatched by these individuals. However, why refuse the offered benefits? Therefore, they kept the people at the ancestral land on a leash, maintaining an ambiguous attitude in order to profit themselves.

Of course, while the Alien forces weren’t fools, those at the ancestral land of the Human Race were even less so. They could tolerate the Alien Force exerting some cunning but would not stand it if they reaped benefits and refused to fulfill their obligations.

If that really occurred, they had methods to deal with Alien forces, secretly forcing them to spit out the undeserved benefits.

In a nutshell, both sides were calculating each other, and it was a question of who had the upper hand.

Having comprehended this, Jiang Chen did not sympathize with those at the ancestral land; in fact, he was even more disdainful.

Trash remains trash—possessing no courage or spirit. They could only resort to dishonest means.

Could a Human Race strengthened through such methods truly be considered powerful? It was most likely precarious; so brittle that a mere touch would cause it to shatter.
