Journey to the West: I have Nine Golden Crows Inside Me
Chapter 370: Three Five Five Great Salvation Technique

Chapter 370: Three Five Five Great Salvation Technique

In his sight were demons wrapped in a bloody glow, their bodies entwined with karmic powers. Swirling upwards, it was a sight of extreme malevolence.

Good!

Observing this scene, Jiang Chen felt relieved. Their bodies covered in blood and bound by karma suggested that these demons had committed countless evils. Killing them would not burden his conscience.

Whatever was done to them, they deserved it for their sins.

With this in mind, Jiang Chen hesitated no longer. Activating his divine abilities, a radiant Buddha light rose from his body. Serene and harmonious, it shone towards the group of demons.

Simultaneously, words of Buddhist wisdom slipped from Jiang Chen’s lips. Grandiose and immense, they seemed as though persuading the demons to take refuge and also as if imparting universal salvation to all beings.

Mysterious Buddhist seals appeared, imprinted in the void, packed densely, emitting a serene Buddha light that illuminated the surroundings for tens of thousands of miles. It seemed as if the entire city had turned into a Buddist holy land.

This is the supreme divine power of Buddhism, the Great Salvation Technique!

Those who fell under this divine power, as long as their will wasn’t much firm, would submit to the performer of the technique and become their most devoted believers, willingly sacrificing everything.

This Universal Salvation divine power could seize people’s wisdom and twist their personalities, making it more demonic than the Demonic Way itself.

Yet, when this divine technique was performed, not only did Buddha light illuminate the surroundings, the atmosphere was also filled with holy serenity, unusually upright and just.

Their bodies were controlled by men, and their hearts by Buddha.

As time passed, these demons quietly transformed, gradually emanating Buddha light from their bodies.

"We were once guilty of arson, murder, and plunder. Today, thanks to your enlightenment, we come to repent and wish to take refuge under your guidance, ready to serve you at your disposal, to atone for our sins."

A group of sinners bathed in Buddha’s light, their faces were peaceful, their hearts calm, free of hostility and resentment. Their thoughts were as clear as crystal, completely devoted to Jiang Chen.

Although Jiang Chen seldom studied Buddhism and rarely specialized in Buddhist divine powers, he possessed the top level attainment of Buddhism, the Buddha King fruit status.

Therefore, with the blessing of the Buddha King fruit status, he could effortlessly wield many of the Buddhist divine powers. Even if he didn’t understand them, he could still use them freely.

Being a Buddha, he understood all of the Buddha’s teachings. Such is the case.

Any Buddhist divine power, Jiang Chen didn’t need to practice, he could use all. However, being able to use them and not understanding them meant that he couldn’t fully utilize the power of Buddhist divine powers. At most, he was on an amateur level.

But even amateur Jiang Chen, perhaps couldn’t handle practitioners of the same level or even stronger, but to convert a group of demons who were weaker than him, was far too easy.

In just five or six days, the over three hundred thousand demons had all been converted by Jiang Chen and become his most devout believers.

Observing these demons’ expressions, even if Jiang Chen asked them to die now, they would willingly do so.

"Universal Salvation Divine Light? This is the Buddhism’s Great Salvation Technique."

"Also, the Buddhist nature on your body is strong. Furthermore, it’s of high quality, giving me a feeling of great righteousness, nobility, virtue and awe-inspiring."

"If it were not for me being a treasured item of the Immortal Dao and having the protection of the Immortal Dao’s fate, I’m afraid I would have been converted by you under your Buddhist nature."

"Are you really from the Immortal Dao? This strong Buddhist nature, I fear that even within the Spiritual Mountain, not many possess it. Now, if you were to tell me that you are a reincarnation of Buddha, I would believe it."

Bathed in Jiang Chen’s Buddha light for a moment, even the Immortal Transformation Pool couldn’t help but waver, almost losing itself, worshipping Jiang Chen.

Those with such Buddhist nature were rare even among the Buddhas of the Spiritual Mountain. Therefore, the Immortal Transformation Pool was shocked, terrified and began to doubt Jiang Chen’s identity.

Could it have been tricked? Is this person an undercover sent from Buddhism to the Immortal Dao?

Seeing the suspicious gaze of the Immortal Transformation Pool, the corners of Jiang Chen’s mouth twitched. He quickly took out the Shangqing talisman and placed it in front of it, saying:

"Please rest assured, fellow daoist, I am a bona fide disciple of the Mystic Sect, a direct disciple of Shangqing, as evidenced by this talisman."

As the Shangqing talisman is named after Shangqing, it naturally belongs to Upper Qing Saints. It would not be bestowed upon anyone who is not a direct disciple, fully proving Jiang Chen’s identity.

Upon seeing the Upper Qing amulet, the suspicion in Immortal Transformation Pool’s eyes dissolved. He apologized to Jiang Chen, saying, "I was overly suspicious, I beg your understanding!"

Jiang Chen shook his head and responded, "It’s no big deal. My embodiment of the Buddhist light can indeed be quite striking, so your suspicion is only natural."

This Immortal Transformation Pool probably doesn’t know the current Buddhist leader is Duobao, the former chief disciple of the Jiejiao Sect. Otherwise, even with the Upper Qing amulet in hand, explaining his identity would still be quite a hassle.

Because he might suspect that the Upper Qing amulet was given to Jiang Chen by Duobao himself.

...

Perhaps feeling awkward, Immortal Transformation Pool changed the topic, saying, "The Method of Universal Salvation of Buddhism is indeed terrifying—it easily distorts others’ minds and leads them into unawareness."

What is ’unawareness’?

It’s not realising that you are affected by an outside influence and feeling that everything is completely normal. Moreover, those affected, aside from their unwavering faith in Jiang Chen, exhibit no changes from their usual behaviour.

This is truly frightening.

The Three Realms are vast and abundant; there are many different methods of influence, but it is Buddhism’s Great Salvation Technique that is the most potent. Ordinary methods, while they can make individuals submit, might invariably harm the individuals’ minds and hinder their path to the Great Dao.

However, Buddhism’s method doesn’t have these downsides. It genuinely persuades people to believe in Buddhism and accept its teachings, becoming a part of the faith, all without causing any physical harm.

This makes sense. The founders of the Western Church created the Great Salvation Technique with the original intent to strengthen their church. If the method affected the minds of the converted, how could it possibly bolster the strength of their faith?

The Great Salvation Technique involves the power of the Dao of Heart and Mind, which is extremely profound and, therefore, capable of manipulating the mind.

However, though the Method of Universal Salvation of Buddhism is indeed powerful, and even the Mystic Sect can’t match it, there are still ways to counteract this divine ability.

Jiang Chen glanced at Immortal Transformation Pool and said, "The Great Salvation Technique is indeed powerful, but it’s not as terrifying as you think. The Confucian Dao’s Determination Technique is its natural counter."

"If Confucian venerables come in person, let alone me, even if the Buddha himself comes, and personally performs the Great Salvation Technique, it will have little effect on them."

"If a semi-holy Confucian comes, no one on Spiritual Mountain would dare use the Universal Salvation Technique on them, for fear of being stricken by the righteousness of Confucianism, ending up with both body and spirit destroyed."

"Furthermore, Confucianism’s profound teachings offer a natural counter to the Great Salvation Technique. No matter how devout you are now, under the influence of Confucianism’s profound teachings, you will return to your true self."

Jiang Chen wasn’t joking. In the past, led by their sage, the 72 Confucian scholars ventured to the western Spiritual Mountain.

With their profound teachings, they shook the foundation of Buddhism, and with their righteous energy, they nearly destroyed all the Buddhist Laws, almost eradicating Buddhism.

In the end, if not for the intervention of the two western sages, Buddhism would have already been extinguished under the attack of the Confucian scholars.

Having spent most of his time abroad, Immortal Transformation Pool didn’t know much about Confucianism. Now, after listening to Jiang Chen, he couldn’t help but grow curious about it.

"Confucianism and their profound teachings?"

"It never crossed my mind that there could be a method that counters Buddhism’s divine abilities. If I ever get the chance, I should see it for myself."

While Confucianism is indeed eminent and their techniques powerful, Jiang Chen didn’t have the slightest intention of learning the Confucian Dao. This is because the Method is more rigid than the Ancient Martial Arts.

Practicing Ancient Martial Arts is indeed a difficult path to immortality, but there is at least a glimmer of hope. But for Confucian Dao cultivators, there is truly no chance of eternal life, thus completely eliminating the possibility of immortality.

The Confucian saint, who nearly eradicated Buddhism, eventually passed away. Not from a battle, but from natural causes as he aged.

This is truly terrifying.

Though Jiang Chen had never met the sage, he could still imagine the level of his strength. That the sage nearly eradicated Buddhism and then managed to leave the western region alive was not attributed to the benevolence of the western sages, but rather because his strength was so formidable that even the western sages could not detain him.

The death of such a powerful figure shows the finite nature of Confucianism’s lifespan.

Jiang Chen held the Confucian method in high regard but was also cautious to maintain his distance.
