Chapter 1400: 941 Tianyao Goddess_2
The elixir’s potency was so strong that it could conjure an Innate Dao Sovereign out of thin air. After the seven maidens absorbed the elixir’s efficacy, they managed to neutralize the demonic energy within their bodies, but due to the overly aggressive nature of the elixir, it split their spirit into seven parts.
According to the attributes of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements, they each nurtured an Innate Dao body.
In light of this, the Saint investigated and discovered that this was not necessarily a bad thing, so he no longer intervened. It could be said that in helping to save the seven maidens, they had already gone above and beyond the call of duty.
Of course, the Saint could have chosen not to save them, but by doing so, there was a high likelihood that Honjan Daizu would step in.
Everyone knew that the Dao Ancestor was someone who greatly valued old ties, especially with the deep connection between Tianyao and himself over so many years.
Seeing their only offspring on the verge of perishing even before birth, with the Dao Ancestor’s character, he was bound to lend a helping hand.
A trivial matter that would still provoke the teacher to take personal action would make it seem as though his disciples were incompetent, so the Saint intervened, sparing no effort to ensure the survival of the child of the Jade Emperor and Queen Mother.
Of course, from another perspective, the fact that the Queen Mother and the Jade Emperor had been attacked by a master of the Demonic Way was on its own grounds for the Saints to be held accountable for negligence. In rescuing the seven maidens, they were perhaps making amends for their own mistakes.
...
"The wisp of Innate Purple Qi that you obtained in the secret realm of the Five Elements must have been what aided in your recovery," Jiang Chen said after learning of the past experiences of the seven maidens, he understood why the Jade Emperor had sent him with the seven maidens to the secret realm of the Five Elements. For the Innate Purple Qi within was able to replenish their souls, aiding in their recovery.
"Innate Divine Demon, eh!"
Looking at the seven maidens once more, Jiang Chen found them indeed different from before, their Original Source robust beyond measure, their bodies enveloped in the pervasive Innate Dao Rhyme, exuding a naturally noble aura.
That was the unique aura of the Innate Divine Demons!
Compared to when he first met the seven maidens, they had transformed from ordinary Immortal Persons into Innate Divine Demons, with cultivation levels peaking at the pinnacle of Innate Dao Monarch.
Looking at her, Jiang Chen curiously asked, "Is it really fine for the seven personalities to merge into one?"
The former seven maidens could be described as seven personas of one being—akin to multiple personality disorder in modern terms—with each persona having an individual body.
"I am inherently myself, why should there be a problem? Could there be a flaw in the Human King incarnating thousands?" the seven maidens responded to Jiang Chen’s question.
"..."
Jiang Chen could not answer. He always felt that the combination of the seven personalities of the seven maidens must entail some risks. Multiple incarnations required a hierarchy, and as long as that hierarchy wasn’t disrupted, issues should not arise.
Yet, the seven personas of the seven maidens had no such hierarchy. After merging, it was uncertain who would be dominant, which was undoubtedly an issue.
Jiang Chen had a foreboding hunch that eventually, the seven maidens would likely have to separate again. But since she felt there was no problem herself, it was not Jiang Chen’s place to express these concerns and dampen her spirits at the moment.
"What is your name!"
Returning to the moment, Jiang Chen asked.
As the seven maidens had merged into one, their former names would no longer suffice; they now required a unique Innate divine name.
"Tianyao!"
"Heavenly Dao has bestowed upon me a divine name, Tianyao Goddess!"
The seven maidens, no, Tianyao affirmed seriously.
And as her voice fell, Jiang Chen almost seemed to glimpse an Innate Goddess rising, commanding Innate Yin and Yang, traversing between Heaven and Earth.
"Tianyao, a good name indeed, taking a character each from your parents!"
Jiang Chen nodded and praised.
And how could it not be good? This was an Innate divine name granted by Heavenly Dao; anyone who dared to criticize it was showing disrespect to Heavenly Dao. At the very least, it would cause their fate to diminish, and at worst, they could be warned by heavenly thunder.
"So, Tianyao Goddess, what brings you here?" After much ado, Jiang Chen finally got to the matter at hand.
"I heard you were seriously injured. My Father the Emperor sent me to see if you’re truly hurt, or pretending to be injured like last time." Tianyao Goddess spoke bluntly, without any hint of subtlety.
Her directness wasn’t due to a lack of social grace; it must have been the Jade Emperor’s specific instruction. Through this, the Jade Emperor was expressing his dissatisfaction.
At this point, who could Jiang Chen’s little schemes fool? Of course, the Jade Emperor was unhappy. I treated you as a confidant, and yet you plotted to overthrow me for your own rise to power. Anyone would be dissatisfied in his place.
"Then the Jade Emperor really overestimates you. Even if I were pretending, you wouldn’t be able to tell."
Jiang Chen replied with a smile, fully understanding the Jade Emperor’s message. But he felt that the Jade Emperor was completely overthinking it. No matter the consideration, he would never oppose the Jade Emperor.
He already had enough enemies and had no need to provoke another, especially one like the Jade Emperor who seemed as harmless as cotton—someone anyone could push around—but in reality, was a formidable force to be reckoned with, no weaker than the Emperor and the Human Ancestry.
The Jade Emperor was a true saint, able to confront a Daluo Jinxian of the Primordial without any external assistance, relying solely on his own power.
If he were to make use of the Emperor’s Mandate, even saints would have to tread carefully. At the very least, if a saint didn’t use an Innate Treasure, facing the Jade Emperor at full strength, it would not be certain who would win.
"Ah, I really don’t understand why your father can be tolerant of everyone, yet he cannot tolerate me and has sent you to probe me?"
Jiang Chen sighed, turning to ask Tianyao.
"It’s quite simple. Others just ignore my father the Emperor, not threatening his position. But you are different; you always have my father the Emperor in your thoughts."
"Of course, it’s not out of respect but because you want to dethrone my father the Emperor and take his place."
"If you’re going to threaten my father the Emperor’s position, no matter how good-tempered he is, he won’t tolerate you."
Tianyao didn’t find anything wrong with Jiang Chen coveting her father’s position; instead, she seriously explained the reasons to him.
"Absurd, it’s utterly absurd."
"In all of Prehistoric World, who doesn’t know of my deep respect for the Jade Emperor?"
"When the authority of Heaven Court was at stake, and the Jade Emperor’s power waned, who turned the tide, swept through the Immortal Dao, suppressed demons and evil, and single-handedly restored the dignity of Heaven Court and the Jade Emperor’s rule?"
"It was I!"
"Look across Heaven Court—although Immortals are countless, they’re all mediocre. No one has more achievements than I do."
"I have such great respect for the Jade Emperor and have made such significant contributions to Heaven Court, yet I receive such targeted treatment in return. It truly chills the heart!"
Jiang Chen felt that Tianyao’s words were somewhat harsh. He admitted that he had coveted the Emperor’s position but had never thought about overthrowing the Jade Emperor.
He lacked the ability to do so. The Jade Emperor was personally appointed by the Taoist Ancestors, and without their say, not even saints could depose him, let alone Jiang Chen.
"You indeed have made contributions to Heaven Court, but Heaven Court has not mistreated you either. The honors and rewards you deserved have never been lacking."
Tianyao, who was very familiar with Jiang Chen, having known him since his early days, certainly didn’t believe his deceitful words.
"Let’s not argue about this."
"In any case, I’ve never entertained the thought of overthrowing the Jade Emperor. Even if I did, I wouldn’t have the power to do so."
"You can’t seriously believe that your father is like the rumors suggest, possessing only a supreme title without matching strength?"
"What a joke. That is the ancient Emperor Haotian, a supreme powerhouse who stands shoulder to shoulder with saints."
"When he first became the Emperor, he was known for his strong-handed approach."
"In the early days of Prehistoric, as the Witch and demon two clans declined and the Primordial three tribes reemerged, fighting erupted Between Heaven and Earth over who would be the main actor."
"It was your father, the newly crowned Emperor Haotian, who by his own power suppressed the Primordial three tribes, forced them into cessation, and thus quelled the great chaos. It was also through this battle that he secured his position as Emperor."
