Chapter 1169: Is 821 Sanqing a ghost?_2

Preaching the Tao also merits rewards, and generally speaking, the more beings that listen to the teachings, the more merit one gains.

This is the merit of enlightenment!

"Yes, Master!"

Upon hearing this, the five disciples did not complain about the rushed timing but respectfully departed to carry out the task.

Whether it was spreading the news or setting up the preaching venue, both required time. And the time Jiang Chen had given them was so short, they could not afford any delay.

Now, with only seven or eight days left until the Ghost Festival, that meant Jiang Chen had to start preaching the Ghost Dao in Wrongful Death City in just ten days.

Considering how vast the Netherworld was, how far could the news travel in ten days? And even if it reached far enough, in just ten days, how many ghosts could possibly arrive?

Fortunately, due to the Ghost Festival, there were many more ghosts near Wrongful Death City; otherwise, Jiang Chen’s lecture might indeed have attracted just a few listeners.

But Jiang Chen didn’t care about any of this. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision, and even if nobody came to listen, that was okay; it would save him the trouble.

Those who could make it to hear his preaching were fortunate; those who couldn’t only had their bad luck to blame for missing this opportunity.

This is the mindset of a true master, acting on natural impulse!

...

...

After the disciples left, Jiang Chen didn’t idle but instead found a place to sit down and gather his understanding of the Ghost Dao.

Since he was about to preach, he naturally needed to bring forth some substantial content, lest anyone accuse him of blathering on without substance.

Jiang Chen was not a ghost, but he understood them extremely well. What are ghosts? Simply put, they are souls. And who is better at dealing with souls than the Sanqing?

Honestly, when it comes to matters of the soul, the Sanqing are the authority, exceeding even the Innate Ghost Gods who are naturally very knowledgeable about the path of souls; they aren’t even fit to carry the Sanqing’s shoes.

The reason is simple, as the Sanqing are incarnations of Pangu’s primordial spirit. And what is a primordial spirit? It is the product of the soul undergoing several transformations.

In the path of cultivation, as one’s cultivation level increases, the soul continuously refines and transforms. It first becomes a Yin God, then transforms into a Yang God, and finally, merges with Heaven and Earth to ascend as a primordial spirit.

That is to say, the essence of a primordial spirit is the soul, only higher in form. Since the Sanqing are incarnations of Pangu’s primordial spirit, their achievements in the path of the soul are unsurpassable and unmatched in the Prehistoric World.

Just as strong as the Twelve Ancestral Witches are with their physical bodies, the Sanqing are with souls.

All this is said to prove one point: in a certain sense, the Sanqing are also ghosts...

Look, ghosts are formed from souls, and so are the Sanqing; ghosts don’t have physical bodies, and while the Sanqing do, it is as if they don’t. Just as weak as the Twelve Ancestral Witches are in terms of primordial spirits, similarly, the Sanqing are weak in terms of physical bodies.

The Sanqing and ghosts have many similarities, it’s just their lofty origins that make them seem utterly different from ghosts.

But if one looks through the phenomena to the essence, tracing everything back to its origins, they are beings formed from souls. What differences do they really have? It’s just that the Sanqing were born transcending life and death, whereas ghosts are still struggling within it.

Of course, all this isn’t to necessarily prove that the Sanqing are truly ghosts; they are merely similar, and there are still significant differences. If the Sanqing were really ghosts, the Ghost Dao would have emerged long ago, and we wouldn’t have had to wait until now.

The purpose of saying so much is to explain that the innate inheritance of Sanqing is the most suitable for ghosts to cultivate.

Jiang Chen possessed the entire heritage from the Upper Qing Saint and part of the heritage from the Saint of Taiqing; hence, he clearly understood that the innate inheritance of Sanqing mainly focuses on cultivating the primordial spirit.

Since ghosts aspire to progress naturally toward transforming into a primordial spirit, the most suitable practice for them is naturally none other than the heritage of Sanqing, that is, Pangu’s primordial spirit heritage.

Of course, given what rank of existence Sanqing belongs to, even at their birth, they possess the cultivation of Innate Dao Monarchs. Their heritage contains the mysteries of the Great Dao and is too advanced, it’s completely beyond the comprehension of ghosts even if placed right before their eyes.

Therefore, at this time, a refinement by an expert is needed, who, based on Pangu’s primordial spirit inheritance, can forge a set of practices suitable for lower-valued ghosts to cultivate.

This is also the limitation of innate heritage, even if the weakest Innate Divine Demons possess the cultivation of a Golden Immortal at birth. Therefore, all innate inheritances start from the stage of Golden Immortal.

As for any heritage below the level of Golden Immortal, I’m sorry, there is none, nor do Innate Divine Demons need it. And the ghosts of the Netherworld? The vast majority are no different from ordinary people and are by no means able to understand the innate inheritances.

Of course, even understanding it is useless. These practices are prepared for Golden Immortals. So what if you understand? Without the cultivation level of a Golden Immortal, you still can’t practice it.

Therefore, the first step in establishing the Ghost Dao is to develop a set of practices that allow ghosts to cultivate. After completing the first step, the second step can be taken, which is to organize the philosophy of Ghost Dao, pointing them in a direction of advancement, so that they can continue on, until transcendence.

After completing this step, the rest can be left undone, allowing the cultivators of the Ghost Dao to strive on their own.

As the saying goes, there were no roads in the world at first, but as more people walked them, roads came into existence. Similarly, there was originally no Ghost Dao in the world, but as more ghosts trod this path, the Ghost Dao naturally emerged.

The rise of a great way cannot be achieved by one person alone. Even Hongjun Daizu, you only see him establishing the Mystic Sect of Immortal Dao, but did not see that, before the Great Ancient, when Heaven and Earth were just explored, many fellow Taoists also accompanied the Taoist ancestor.

It was the effort and collective research of the Taoist ancestor with his peers that later led to the prosperity of the Mystic Sect of Immortal Dao. As for why these people are not visible anymore, one can only say they were unlucky not to live into this era, having fallen in the great wars between immortals and demons.

For the Ghost Dao to thrive, Jiang Chen alone is not enough; what he can do is merely to point out a direction for all ghosts, the rest is up to their own efforts.

Jiang Chen has a background in studying the Tao of Pangu’s primordial spirit, thus, for him, based on the Tao of Pangu’s primordial spirit, it is not difficult to develop a method suitable for all ghosts to practice.

Doesn’t it sound very simple?

But in reality, it is not so. To establish a practice that ghosts can cultivate is not difficult, but to create a practice suitable for all ghosts to cultivate is extremely challenging.

A person has a singular appearance; a thousand people have a thousand different appearances. In the Chaos World, living beings amount to more than trillions, a simply infinite number.

In such a situation, aside from Pangu’s heritage, even the heritage of the Taoist ancestors cannot be said to be something everyone can cultivate.

Heaven and Earth originated from Pangu Great God, the true origin of all things; when living beings cultivate his heritage, there are naturally no unsuitable aspects.

Only a ghost cultivation method derived from studying the Tao of Pangu’s primordial spirit can be practiced by everyone.

Jiang Chen’s establishment of the Ghost Dao is not by chance, but rather inevitability. First, he possesses the inheritance of Pangu’s primordial spirit, meeting the basic condition for founding the Ghost Dao. Secondly, he is from the Human Race, and the majority of ghosts in the Netherworld are also from the Human Race; rarely are they from other races.

Ghost spirits are weak and no one cares about them. Even if Great Divine Transcendents come to the Netherworld, their goal is only the Six Paths of Reincarnation; they simply do not spare a glance for these ghost spirits.

But Jiang Chen is different; coming from a future time, so he sees the helplessness of ghosts, and also sees the opportunity for the Ghost Dao. From there, the Ghost Dao was born from his hands.

"It is just that the ghosts haven’t yet become a force, which is what let me benefit. Wait a little longer, and the opportunity to establish the Ghost Dao wouldn’t fall to me."
