Chapter 1147: 810 Dao Rhyme treasured essence

Among the outsiders in the Prehistoric World, what could they be, if not the descendants of the Chaos Demigods?

Such people, if they do not reveal themselves, will remain hidden, but once they do, they will immediately become targets of the Heavenly Dao, and everyone will call to strike them down.

Jiang Chen’s cultivation is that of Pangu’s Way, and it can be said that he is the most authentic living being of Pangu. Therefore, his Purple Jade Cyan Three Flowers open with a truly proper hue, comparable to the Sanqing.

Those who do not know Jiang Chen might suddenly see the Three Flowers above his head and think that, out of nowhere, an authentic lineage of Pangu has emerged in the world.

Whoosh!

The Three Flowers swayed, each shedding strands of mysterious power that enveloped Jiang Chen. This is the Divine Ability that inherently protects the body, and in conjunction with the Five Qi in his chest, it can resist all Laws.

The power of this ability, at its weakest, can compare to a low-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure; at its strongest, like Jiang Chen’s, which combines five high-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures to condense the Five Qi in his chest, can rival that of the top Innate Spiritual Treasures, truly invincible and indestructible to all Laws.

The Three Flowers above one’s head, put simply, are three lotus flowers, similar to the Innate Four Great Lotus Platforms. The reason they are like this is due to the influence of the Chaos Green Lotus.

When Pangu Great God was born, it was the Chaos Green Lotus that supplied him with nutrients; influenced by it, the lotus form became the highest level of Dao manifestation in the world, and even the lotus became a symbol of the Dao flower.

The Three Flowers sway in the Celestial Cloud, and it’s clear to see that, above their platforms, there is nothingness, utterly empty. And this represents the biggest difference between a Quasi-Saint and an Innate Dao Sovereign.

It’s when an Innate Dao Sovereign is about to break through to the Quasi-Saint realm by Slaying Three Corpses, for each phantom they slay corresponds to a flower above their head, where a silhouette subsequently appears.

The phantoms of the Three Corpses aren’t just done away with once they are cut out; they can’t be allowed to freely wander about.

Normally, the phantoms of the Three Corpses should stay within, nurtured by the essence, qi, and spirit of the Three Flowers, to enhance their strength and reinforce their connection with the main body.

Although the Three Corpses’ phantoms are cut from one’s own body and are inherently a part of oneself, the Innate Spiritual Treasure that contains them is not necessarily so.

And thus, there’s a rift between the main body and its phantoms, requiring constant integration to eliminate this rift and prepare for their eventual merging.

If not, phantoms influenced by the Innate Spiritual Treasure might develop a separate will, which could affect one’s cultivation or even cost their life; worse yet, they could be supplanted entirely.

Therefore, the Innate Spiritual Treasure used for Slaying Three Corpses should not be the strongest, but the most suitable, preferably one’s own congenital spiritual treasure, to avoid future trouble.

When an Innate Dao Sovereign is on the verge of breaking through to a Quasi-Saint, they also nourish the Innate Spiritual Treasure used for slaying within the Three Flowers, consistently merging with it to achieve a unity of mind and intent. This not only makes it easier to bear the Three Corpses but also eliminates the chance of the phantoms’ betrayal.

Those who let their Three Corpses wander are typically out of their minds and most prone to trouble. The most typical case is the Primordial Heavenly Sovereign, whose Evil Corpse couldn’t resist the temptation of the Demon Ancestor and fell into the Demonic Way.

But then again, when you think about it, in the Prehistoric World, other than the Saints, there are no others who dare let their Three Corpses wander.

Those Great Divine Transcendents who, to prevent any issues with their Three Corpses, always nurture them within the Three Flowers, never separating for even a moment.

In the vast Prehistoric World and amongst so many Great Divine Transcendents, apart from the Saints, have you ever heard any news of their Three Corpses?

No!

If they never come out, how could there be any news?

...

......

Jiang Chen previously had no intention of slaying his corpses, so naturally his Three Flowers were empty, but now that he is determined to create the Slaying Three Lives method, it can no longer be so; he must condense the corresponding Dao Rhyme to bear his Three Lives Self.

Yes, it’s Dao Rhyme, not Innate Spiritual Treasure.

This is another difference between the method of Slaying Three Lives and Slaying Three Corpses; it does not require Innate Spiritual Treasure as a carrier, but directly uses one’s own Dao Rhyme to bear the Three Lives Self.

Doing this has a benefit: there’s no need to worry about one’s Three Lives Self betraying oneself, as devoid of any mixed forces, the Three Lives Self shall retain its intended purity. Whether it is the past me, the present me, or the future me, all are me.

Since all are myself, naturally, there is no question of betrayal. Therefore, the future merging with the Three Lives Self will be all the easier. If it’s all my own essence, there’s basically no chance of failure.

Of course, there are trade-offs for such ease in merging the Three Lives Self; the price is that during the moment of Ascension, there is a possibility of failure.

And the price of failing Ascension is not light; one would plummet from the realm of Great Divine Transcendents back down to the realm of Innate Dao Sovereign.

Merging the Three Lives Self and Ascending to the Dao leads to one of two outcomes: success in Ascension, using supreme power to shatter everything to transcend above Heaven and Earth.

Or failure in Ascension, meaning the past, future, and present selves that were once cut away, return to the body once more—this is to say, one who once stepped out of the River of Time and Space falls back into it again.

Returning to the River of Time and Space isn’t that just the realm of an Innate Dao Sovereign? This is the path of Dao; either leap out completely, or fall back in headfirst.

Falling back to the realm of an Innate Dao Sovereign is a heavy price to pay; although the power doesn’t necessarily fall back to that of an Innate Dao Sovereign, it would be diminished to a fraction of what it was.
