Chapter 1054: 762 Emperor’s Divinity Enshrinement Technique
The teachings of the Jiejiao Sect were to seize a lifeline for the living beings of Heaven and Earth.
Therefore, Leader Tongtian, having no other choice, chose to actively face the tribulation. He wanted to use the Enshrinement Calamity to prove his Tao and to seize a lifeline for the Jiejiao Sect.
If successful, Leader Tongtian would have proven his own way and gained tremendous benefits, thereby advancing further to a higher realm.
If he failed, the Jiejiao Sect would cease to exist!
It was later proven that Leader Tongtian was successful in the end. Although the Jiejiao Sect was destroyed, Saintess Wudang survived, preserving the last lifeline for the Jiejiao Sect.
Leader Tongtian also, due to the destruction of the Jiejiao Sect, managed to break and then establish himself, making significant advances in his realm.
In the Enshrinement Calamity, Leader Tongtian indeed failed, but he himself did not suffer much loss; on the contrary, he made significant gains in his practice because of it.
To counteract the Heavenly Dao, Leader Tongtian chose to actively face the tribulation, seizing a lifeline for the Jiejiao Sect.
His elder brother, the Primordial Heavenly Sovereign, faced the calculations of the Heavenly Dao, not remaining indifferent. However, unlike Leader Tongtian, the Primordial Heavenly Sovereign’s approach was much gentler, not choosing to confront the Heavenly Dao but to pass the tribulation in accordance with Heaven.
The way of the Primordial Heavenly Sovereign was to follow and respond to the Tao, elucidating the ultimate principles of Heaven and Earth, and thus, he would not act against Heaven.
Ordinary beings practice by defying Heaven, but not the Innate Divine Demons; their practice is in line with Heaven and Earth. Especially Sanqing, who were destined to become saints from birth, practicing was all the more reasonable and coherent.
The philosophy of practice was to follow and respond to the Tao; facing the arrangements of the Heavenly Dao, the Primordial Heavenly Sovereign could not resist but could only go with the flow. Thus, he thought of a method of substitution.
He had his disciples leave the mountain to recruit students, using them to face the tribulation in his place.
Among the third-generation disciples of Chan Teaching, only Yang Jian and Nezha survived, the rest faced their destined tribulations and lost their lives, their True Spirits entered into the Investiture of the Gods list.
This was the outcome of bearing the tribulation for their own Teacher; what should have fallen on the Teacher, fell on them instead. They faced the tribulation for others, dying in their stead.
Among the twelve Golden Immortals of Chan Teaching who recruited disciples, how many were sincere? Apart from a few, the rest were merely training sacrificial substitutes. Just look at how they instructed their disciples, there was no teaching by word and example whatsoever!
All of them used various fast-track methods; if they provided them with powerful Innate Spiritual Treasures, or directly let them consume Heavenly and Earthly Treasures, then after casually instructing them for a few years, they sent them down the mountain to meet their deaths.
A normal person, who would teach disciples this way?
The purpose is obvious!
However, the method of the Primordial Heavenly Sovereign was indeed more stable than that of Leader Tongtian, at least, among the Enshrinement Calamity, none of his disciples faced calamity.
Of course, the two saints were able to resolve the schemes of the Heavenly Dao, not just because of their relatively greater strength, but more importantly, because the main target of the Heavenly Dao was the Human Race, and the Mystic Sect was just incidental, so they faced less pressure.
But it was different for the Human Race, the main pressure of the Heavenly Dao was on them. The different degrees of force applied led to naturally different consequences.
The two saints each had their gains, but the real sufferer was only the Human Race!
At that time, the Military Ancestor Jiang Ziya and King Wen Ji Chang, one in the civil and the other in the military, joined forces and directly pierced through the Heavenly secrets, understanding the schemes of the Heavenly Dao.
However, without the strength of a saint, facing the schemes of the Heavenly Dao, they could not directly resist, so after long contemplation, they decided to counter-plot.
Ostensibly, they first cooperated with the Heavenly Dao, following the strategy laid out by the Heavenly Dao to replace Great Shang. Meanwhile, they made various secret plans so that at the critical moment when the Heavenly Dao was harvesting the Fate of the Human Race, they suddenly turned the tables, recapturing the Fate of the Human Race that had been harvested away.
When would the Heavenly Dao harvest the Fate of the Human Race? Naturally, it was during the investiture of the gods; with each god being enshrined, a portion of the Fate of the Human Race would be weakened. Until all the rightful gods were in place, it was unknown how much Fate of the Human Race would be plundered, making it impossible for a prosperous dynasty to arise again.
Jiang Ziya and King Wen of Zhou, both exceptional figures of the Human Race, after seeing through the plans of the Heavenly Dao, on one hand, counter-plotted by launching a military campaign against Great Shang, on the other hand, exhausted their intelligence thinking about ways to break the game.
However, the planning of the Heavenly Dao was a major trend of Heaven and Earth; how could it be countered by human power? Yet, the Human Race, adept at creating miracles, under their painstaking contemplation, truly came up with a strategy.
The Military Ancestor and King Wen joined forces, co-devolving a supreme Divine Ability!
This Divine Ability was truly profound, different from all other Divine Abilities in the world because it was not based on the system of Spiritual Energy, but on Fate.
This was a Divine Ability powered by Fate, an extremely rare Fate Divine Ability!
To create this Divine Ability, King Wen, who should have had a promising future, directly overstrained his potential, therefore dying young.
The death of King Wen was related to this Divine Ability!
To create this Divine Ability, King Wen spared no effort in depleting his own potential, vigorously activating the Book of Changes to conform to all the Laws, standing from the highest perspective of Heaven and Earth, to elucidate the mysteries of the Way of Fate, perfecting this Divine Ability.
Depleting potential meant burning his life; even if an Innate Dao Sovereign’s lifespan was limitless, life could not burn indefinitely. Therefore, as soon as this Divine Ability was completed, King Wen’s life reached its end.
After King Wen’s demise, this Divine Ability fell into the hands of the Military Ancestor Jiang Ziya, at the same time, the responsibility to execute the final plan also fell to him.
