Chapter 651: Chapter 576: Are You Possessed?

Cradling the heavy Yuxiao Sword in his arms, Baili An was just about to explain that he truly didn’t need this sword for protection.

As the words reached his lips, a fierce wind rose outside the cave, gust after gust, pressing down the wild grass that sprouted along the cave’s edge.

Accompanied by the wild wind was a mixture of cold rain, the green scent of grass, which slowly permeated and brought with it a faint but unmistakable scent of blood.

This blood scent was particularly cold and intense, as if something dead had been lying in ambush outside the cave entrance for a long time.

Baili An’s gaze subtly changed as he smoothly returned the sword to its place without a trace of emotion.

Wen Hanwei took the Yuxiao Sword and exchanged a look with Ye Lian, their eyes as deep and cold as the night, both brimming with intense vigilance.

The once peaceful air suddenly turned heavy.

Baili An also felt complicated, just moments ago he had said that, relying on the old formations in these mountains, he could temporarily protect them for a while, yet he had not expected the Demon Clan to discover this place and have been spying outside the cave for quite some time.

Had it not been for the wind, no one inside the cave would have noticed anything unusual outside.

Moreover, even now, the three of them could only catch the cold, diffuse scent of fresh blood in the air, while the presence of the perpetrator remained undiscernible.

This just went to show that the visitor was no ordinary person.

After a long silence without any movement, Wen Hanwei’s eyes shone with a trace of cold light, and she was about to get up when Baili An reached out to stop her. He summoned Heavenly Strategy Jun Mountain and said in a deep voice, "I’ll go out and have a look."

Now that he had become the leader of Shouhe in the Demon World, apart from the Demon Lord, the rest of the Demon Clan, even Erhe Zangxin and Mi Lu, had to show him a degree of respect on the surface when they saw him.

It was much better for him to meet this distinguished guest than for Wen Hanwei to show up.

Just then, the quietly burning campfire suddenly leapt wildly without reason, the flames surged, and the orange glow against the thin night sketched a tall and slender silhouette within the interlacing light and shadow of the cave entrance, gracefully moving into the view of the three people.

Baili An abruptly froze as he stood up, his eyes slowly widening in astonishment as he watched the unexpected guest approach.

The purple-clad woman in the dim light had a graceful figure, a clear complexion, and eyebrow like smoke. With steps light and delicate as clouds, her long, dark hair was tied high with a jade hairpin at the back of her head, falling like a waterfall over her shoulders, untainted by any imperfection, and stunningly beautiful. It was none other than Ning Feiyan of Si He, Demon World.

She had a gleam in her eyes and could not help but a slight curl of her lips when she saw Baili An’s astounded expression, her face revealing an ambiguous thin smile, "On the day of the Monarch’s Return Banquet, I found the purple robe you wore strangely familiar, and only today did I rummage through my wardrobe and realize it was the same as the man’s outfit I had during my travels."

The jade hairpin and purple attire, waist hung with purple jade tassels, different from the usual style of tying up her black hair, today she dressed as a man with her hair pulled back in a high ponytail, clean-cut as a graceful jade tree, similar to the robe Baili An had worn the other day.

Yet, it was drizzling outside the cave, and she had apparently been out in the rain for some time; the color of her purple dress and hair strands slightly darkened, evidently, her clothes and hair were wet.

Ning Feiyan’s lips, painted a light red, curved as she asked, "Young Master, do you think I look as good in this outfit as you?"

While she spoke, her face always held a trace of a smile, tender and kind.

However, as she smiled, the hand that emerged from her sleeve, carved from white jade and holding two dripping, bloody heads, told a different tale.

The heads, with their disheveled hair, bore a resemblance to human heads and had horns on their foreheads with a bluish-purple complexion and skin covered in fish-like scales. They were unmistakably the heads of high-ranking generals from the Demon World.

Such a beauty covered in blood made one’s heart skip a beat.

Ning Feiyan saw that Baili An was silent, merely frowning and staring intently at her.

She took his silence and the general caution around as a reaction to her uninvited arrival but did not take it to heart, casually lifting the two bloodied heads in her hand with an ease as if she were introducing melons.

"These are Shadow Demons, adept at tracking and assassination, belonging to Erhe Zangxin’s Demon General. Yesterday, Zangxin publicly disclosed Tian Gan Mountain’s news; did you really think he was just sharing it with you? Even though I brought you into the Demon World, with Zangxin’s suspicious nature, how could he not doubt your origins and intentions?"

Wen Hanwei did not relax her guard despite Ning Feiyan’s familiar demeanor. She might not be acquainted with Mohe Su Xi, but she recognized that the woman before them was indeed Ning Feiyan of Si He, Demon World. Her eyes remained cold and frosty, focusing on the crucial point, "You said you were the one who brought him into the Demon World?"

Whether intentional or not, Ning Feiyan’s face was full of pleasantness as she ignored Wen Hanwei and Ye Lian, quickly shortening the distance between herself and Baili An, with eyes like water she teased him, "Young Master, don’t underestimate the Demon World. You see, even someone as clever as you ended up with a couple of little tails, didn’t you?"

Clang!

A clear and resonant sword ring.

The campfire flickered erratically.

The unsheathed Yuxiao Sword, cold and unyielding, was placed before Ning Feiyan, stopping her from getting any closer to Baili An.

Behind the blade, as cold as autumn water, was a pair of serene and undisturbed eyes that seemed too pure, like a mirror reflecting Ning Feiyan’s every shadow.

Ning Feiyan stopped in her tracks, her eyes filled with a resentful look towards Baili An, "Young Master, I’ve dealt with two troubles for you, won’t you praise me?"

Baili An looked at her smile, feeling a dull ache in his head.

Lately, this witch had been addressing him too familiarly, usually with ’young master’ or ’son’, and at her most outrageous, ’little master’. Today, what ailment had overtaken her, reverting to that flippant and casual tone from their first meeting on Ghost Mountain.
