Chapter 70: Ah, Dongwoo Hyung, you’re drunk
Dongwoo busied himself during the shoot, trying not to distract himself with the thoughts of what happened earlier that morning.
"Ah, I haven’t called Geumtae yet." He muttered to himself while fixing the lens of his camera. "Well, I’ll see him again on Saturday so I’ll formally apologize then."
He raised his gaze, only to catch Seojun’s eyes that had been on him the whole time. But as soon as they made eye contact, Seojun looked away, feeling guilty.
Yeah, it was to be expected. It would’ve actually made him uncomfortable if the twins started acting like nothing was going on between them after all that.
’I hope this doesn’t affect their performance.’ he thought, bowing his head again.
He had already told himself he would talk to the twins when he had the time, but it did not look like they would be able to have their ’talk’ anytime soon since he only got busier and busier.
Luckily, it didn’t look like the twins were affected to the point where they couldn’t pose and act their part completely.
Once they got on set, they blended with their role.
They weren’t actors but it looked like they would do better in that field. But, it wasn’t for anyone to choose. The twins chose their career path, and this was good, too, so there was no pressure.
The shoot went into the night, and at the end of the day, Taiha took the crew out to eat, barbeque, and drink.
"Hah! This is the stuff. Eat up, you kiddos. Tonight is on me." He announced.
The crew were gathered in a local barbeque spot, just like the previous one they went to the last time they went out to dinner together.
"This marks the end of the week-long shoot." Taiha announced, raising his glass of soju to the air. "Now, we can all relax and bask in the glory of our efforts."
"That’s the spirit director."
"What a heart-touching speech." Someone said and they all laughed.
"You brats. You only have the weekend off. On Monday, it’s back to work." Taiha announced and gulped the entire glass in one go, stomping it down on the table, and letting out a satisfying lip smack. "Hah! It melts the soul, alright!"
"Director, the twins are making their debut during the anniversary party, right? Doesn’t that mean we’ll have a lot more work on our hands after that?" Eunkyung asked.
This topic picked up Dongwoo’s attention and he raised his head to listen carefully.
"Not really," Taiha answered, pouring himself another glass. "Their schedule will be revised and while we wait for other companies to patronize our stars, we’ll focus on the others that are affiliated with us."
"You mean Sungho?" She asked and he nodded.
"Yes, but I contacted his manager, and he said Sungho has a busy schedule with other agencies, so he’s not going to be around much," Taiha explained and then turned to Dongwoo. "That means you won’t stress too much, kiddo. You can relax a bit more this week."
"Ah, yes." Dongwoo said, humbly bowing his head. He had taken in one glass of soju and was already feeling it in his system.
He wasn’t very good at holding his liquor.
He glanced at the other table where Seojun and Seojin were seated with other crew members. Mostly the artist crew and their assistants.
They were quite lively and the twins were smiling as well. It made him feel a certain way and he downed another glass.
Whatever. He would just enjoy the night like the others were doing.
"Hey, now, that’s the spirit." Taiha said, refilling his glass. "Drink up, kiddo. Your efforts will shine tomorrow evening."
"Thank you for your guidance." Dongwoo said, raising his glass to the air and downing it in one go.
"Don’t just drink. Eat more meat as well." Taiha reminded him and he nodded.
The night was lively and the crew were ready for a second round. They planned to go to a karaoke and sing the night away till morning. After all, they had a whole weekend off.
Not everyone was invited to the anniversary party so they could do whatever they liked with their weekend.
"I want to sleep." A bummed-out Dongwoo muttered, squatting at the sideline while others tried to carry their bodies to the karaoke across the street.
"Ah, Dongwoo Hyung is drunk." Doha announced. She was also feeling quite tipsy so her eyes were spinning. "Does anyone know his address?"
"Where are the twins?" Taiha asked with a cigarette sticking out the corner of his mouth. "They should know."
Doha raised her head, and with her unsteady vision, tried to spot the twins. Of course, they were easy to spot, with their blinding appearance.
"They’re over there." She pointed and then staggered.
Taiha held her steady and clicked his tongue.
"You kids need to build up your tolerance." He said and Doha chuckled.
"Director Taiha has a twin as well."
"You’re a lost cause." He placed her to squat next to Dongwoo and took the cigarette out of his mouth, crushing it on the floor before kicking it to the corner. "Wait here with him. I’ll get them"
Doha giggled and then turned her head to face Dongwoo whose cheeks were flushed and his eyes closed.
"Dongwoo Hyung," she called.
"Hm?" He answered still keeping his eyes closed.
"Do you know you’re so pretty?" She asked. "You look so nice too."
"Haha, April fools day." Dongwoo suddenly said and laughed. Doha laughed with him.
"No, it’s not. It’s Christian day."
Both drunkards ended up laughing but Doha got serious again, smiling nicely as she said,
"But you’re indeed nice. And you’re soooo pretty for a boy. I wonder, the person who gets to date you must be really lucky."
Dongwoo stayed silent. He was drunk, yes, but some words that are said don’t need a clear mind to understand.
"Hyung," Seojin approached and both raised their heads to see him standing in front of them. "Can I take you home?"
Dongwoo stayed silent, as if thinking of something while staring at his face and suddenly smiled.
"Hehe, I think I would be the lucky one." He said.
Though Seojin didn’t know what Dongwoo was talking about, he took that as his consent and helped him up.
"My legs feel like jelly." He sobbed.
"There, there. I’ll carry you." Seojin said. "Your legs don’t have to stay on the ground."
"Will I fly?" Dongwoo asked, staring at him with innocent and sparkling eyes.
"Ah, Hyung, if it’s what you want, I can make it happen." Seojin said and although, the drunk Dongwoo could not tell if he was just joking to play along with him or if he had another meaning behind his words, he laughed and said,
"I’ll fly in my dreams."
Doha watched them and bowed her head. She was alone there.
"Doha, come on." Dooshik said as he approached. "You know you can’t drink too much but you’re the first one to down a bottle. You’re hilarious, seriously."
Doha stared at him and then smiled.
"Will you buy me one more bottle?"
"Get real."
He helped her up.
"But I want one more bottle."
"I’ll get you a bottle of water instead." He said and she pouted.
"You’re no fun."
"Deal with it."
