Chapter 169: Te amo - I love you
Chapter 169: Te amo - I love you
The crew members were allowed to go sightseeing after getting their room cards.
Of course, everyone has to pair with somebody. Two to a room. And to the twin’s greatest dismay, Dongwoo was paired with Minwoo.
Well, it was either that or he paired with Sungho so this was manageable to a certain degree.
But they hated them both so they couldn’t exactly sit still while knowing Dongwoo would be sharing a room with either of them.
They set it behind them for a while, since this was their first official date where they wouldn’t have to worry about anyone judging them. But they still had to be careful.
They couldn’t be too carefree and lose track of their identities.
"Hah, this is great!" Dongwoo exclaimed, looking down from the Eiffel Tower. "I’m having the time of my life." He yelled.
The wind was strong and his hair went into a frenzy. It wasn’t even that long, but it was a threat to his eyes, so he winched.
Then, Seojin hugged him from behind and asked,
"Are you really having a blast?" He asked and Dongwoo smiled widely, his full teeth on display as he said,
"Yes. I’m glad I got to be here with you two."
It touched their hearts but he immediately spoiled the moment when he had to worry about their reputation.
"Seojin, don’t stick so close to me like this. Someone could take a picture." He said, and Seojin frowned.
They were wearing nose masks and also face caps. Wasn’t that enough?
But oh well, it couldn’t be helped. They were just so radiant that even with that disguise, their bright and flawless faces couldn’t be hidden.
"I checked around, Hyung." Seojun said. "There aren’t any paparazzi."
"That’s why it’s so peaceful." He said and held the bars. He felt free. So free that he wished his life was as peaceful and beautiful as this.
The night view from the top of the Eiffel Tower was the kind of picture he hoped to take for the competition back then. It was honestly breathtaking but not as breathtaking as the twins.
Still, he raised his camera, it wouldn’t hurt to have the picture in his gallery.
He had taken a series of pictures while they walked around town before getting to the Eiffel Tower.
It wasn’t even Valentine’s Day, yet it all looked so romantic. The city was indeed the city of romance.
And the view of the Eiffel Tower was mesmerizing and compelling.
This was the perfect place to bring your partner to propose.
He laughed.
’What am I thinking right now? What proposal?’ he turned to look at the twins and said, "Come, I’ll take a picture of you two." He said.
"We want to take a picture of you, Hyung." Seojin suddenly said, taking the camera from Dongwoo.
"What? But..."
"You’ve been taking all the pictures and there’s not a single one of you. It’s not fair." Seojun said. "This time, in this breathtaking scene, let the picture be about you."
Yeah, that worked too. He was so used to thinking of others above himself that he sometimes lost track of his own desires.
As a photographer, his wish was to find the perfect background, the perfect angel, and the perfect muse, all resulting in an outstanding masterpiece.
But... He still had another wish.
He wished to be the muse of a masterpiece one day and not just be the one to spot out the muse.
He told himself that if that day came, he would smile with all his heart.
But he couldn’t even do that and looked rather shy.
"Wait, hold on." He said, covering his face. "Do you even know how to use a camera?"
"Well, we’re about to find out."
Seojun was the one holding the camera, and though his angle and pose were correct, Dongwoo wondered if he was just trying to copy what he had seen him do.
But more than that, he couldn’t focus. He couldn’t smile normally or with all his heart as he told himself he would. He was just too nervous.
"Hyung," Seojin called and he looked up.
Seojin drew his mask down and whispered,
"Te amo."
The entire place was noisy, and his voice was low, but why did it sound so loud in his ear? No, it was his heart.
His heart heard his words loud and clear and its beat resonated with it. He smiled softly and sincerely.
"Hm, me too."
Seojun took the shot and smiled at Dongwoo.
"I got a perfect shot, Hyung." He said, and Dongwoo snapped out of his love struck expression.
He walked towards them to take a look and was shocked to see how good the picture turned out to be.
"Whoa, you also know how to use filters? This is really good. What filter did you use?" He asked but Seojun smiled softly at him and said,
"I didn’t use any filter Hyung. This picture... It’s just how you are." He swiped his hair out of his face and added, "You’re pretty."
Dongwoo’s heart went *badum*
"Ah!" He exclaimed still in disbelief. "Is this...for real? Is this really what I look like... To you and everyone else? You’re not lying, are you? Am I really this pretty in real life?"
They nodded.
"You’re far more prettier than that." Seojin said and Dongwoo blushed.
"Don’t tease me." He said, bowing his head as he felt too shy to look them in the eyes.
"It’s because of your smile, Hyung." Seojun suddenly added. "You have such a pretty smile that changes your appearance completely. That’s why..." He leaned in to whisper in his ear. "...we get so jealous when you smile at others. You’re just so pretty that anyone could steal you."
For the first time, Dongwoo actually believed the twins when they called him pretty.
If he was this pretty then how had he never seen it?
His life has been gloomy.
He couldn’t help but recall those cold and painful days when it all looked bleak and black. He had no one, nothing to live for but he persevered.
The ones who had been keeping his life going all along were right in front of him, showering him with their light and making his life wholesome.
Really, what could he have done if not for them? Back then and even now... It was all the same. They were there at all times for him.
His heart squeezed in happiness that he was moved to tears. How could he not love them? How could he not take them as his suns when they were lighting up his path so beautifully?
"Are you going to cry again, Hyung?" Seojin asked but Dongwoo shook his head, denying the tears from falling.
"No. I won’t cry." He said. "But I’ll smile." He raised his head and smiled. "Thank you for showering me with your light once more, Seojin, Seojun. I’m really grateful."
"Hyung," they couldn’t hug him because they were outside, yet they wished to wrap their arms around him.
"You seem to have gotten it all wrong, Hyung." Seojun said and Dongwoo raised his head, wondering what he was going to say. "You’re the one who showered us with your light first. Whatever we are right now, no matter how bright we may shine, it’s all because of you. You shared your light with us. You set the flames and made us burn brightly. If not for that, we would’ve been lost in the dark forever. So, we have you to thank, Hyung. Thank you for coming into our lives back then and for accepting us with our flaws even now."
He took his hand and kissed it, bowing his head in a gentlemanly pose.
He may not be able to hug Dognwoo or kiss him in the pios but this much wouldn’t seem weird.
’In Paris, they say, if a guy kisses a lady’s hand with one hand behind his back, it means respect. And if he...’ he bit his lips. ’...kisses their hand with both hands forward, it means affection, respect and adoration. They had a strong desire to court her. Right now, Seojun has both hands in front.’
He told himself he wouldn’t cry but he couldn’t hold it.
How did he come to deserve any of this?
His life... He was sure it was broken, so how did it get such a bright turnaround? How... Just how did he turn from being the unluckiest person in the world to being the luckiest?
It was astonishing and his heart warmed up. He felt warm.
