Chapter 149: Hyung, just do me a favor and keep it on
Seojin won the drinking contest, as expected, and walked away like he had not taken a single sip, and all the drinks he downed were water.
"Where were you, Hyung?" Seojin asked.
"I went to the rooftop." Dongwoo answered, not exactly stating his business on the rooftop.
"Hm, did you perhaps save anyone from another suicide attempt? You should know not to get yourself involved with random people just because you have a big heart." He said, causing Dongwoo to laugh.
"No, I didn’t do that this time." He said.
"Then, did you enjoy your chat?" Seojin asked and Dongwoo paused.
So, he saw them after all.
He turned to look at Seojin smiling at him. He didn’t look mad, unlike how they usually looked whenever there was anything that had to do with Minwoo.
"Seojin, do I really have a big heart?" He suddenly asked.
"Of course, Hyung. You have the biggest heart I have ever seen and I’m not saying it just because it’s you, Hyung. I’ve met a lot of people and more than half don’t even come close to possessing the kind of heart you have." He sincerely said which touched Dongwoo’s heart.
There was nothing the twins wouldn’t spew out of their mouths that wouldn’t warm his heart. Even their flirtatious teasing got his heart going ’badum’ so why wouldn’t their kind words get to him?
He blushed and Seojin tilted his head, deciding he wasn’t through with his words yet. And he said,
"That’s why I keep telling you, you’re just too kind."
"Jeez, I thought it was a compliment." He pouted and then laughed. "Well, I don’t know how big of a heart you think I have, but..." He paused, remembering the sad expression on Minwoo’s face.
It felt sad to see him saddened, even though it stemmed from a misunderstanding.
When he saw him like that, standing awkwardly at being found out he was very active sexually, the awkward pose he took, he had this sudden urge to patt his head and tell him it was alright.
But instead of doing that, he decided to harden his heart and say something else that would keep them in the status of ’we aren’t that close’.
’I pushed him away.’ he thought. ’It’s vexing, as it seems but a part of me wants to hear the rest of what he has to say.’
"What are you thinking of, Hyung?" Seojin asked, tilting his head and Dongwoo looked up at him, staring at his face.
Minwoo gave him a certain feeling of familiarity and he still didn’t know why. If it was just because he reminded him of himself, or because he was really his brother.
He shook his head.
"It’s nothing." He said and looked down. "Has Seojun returned? We still have some things to do after getting back home."
"He should be around." Seojin said and then caught on to the other thing Dongwoo said, immediately using it as an opportunity, so he asked, "Will you come over, Hyung?" And to this, Dongwoo subconsciously nodded while his mind was occupied by other things.
Seojin’s face lit up and he exclaimed in excitement.
"That’s great, Hyung."
Since they were the only ones sober, they were in charge of helping the crew members out of the restaurant.
Luckily, Taiha already paid on his way out, so it was left for the rest to find their way home.
Most were still able to tell one from two but there was a fair number of them who were slumped out of their minds, no thanks to Seojin.
Only God knew how they would be able to drag their asses out of bed the next day to get to work.
"I think that’s the last of them." Seojin said, and Dongwoo nodded, only to sneeze at the end.
"Achoo!"
"That’s not good." Seojin said and took off his coat.
"Hey, don’t give me that, you’ll need it." Dongwoo said, pushing his coat back but Seojin shook his head, adamant on draping it over his shoulder.
"There, there, Hyung. We both know I don’t get sick easily." He said, adjusting the cost around Dongwoo’s shoulder.
"But I don’t get cold easily either." Dongwoo said. "You should keep it, Seojin. Take care of yourself more. You’re an important star now so you can’t get sick out of nowhere."
Seojin twisted his lips, a bit annoyed that Dongwoo was prioritizing him more than himself.
"Hyung, you’re the photographer. We stars can’t shine if the photographer is sick, right?" He asked but Dongwoo shook his head, being stubborn. So, Seojin had to make use of other tactics.
He grabbed his chest and closed his eyes as if he were feeling faint, worrying Dongwoo in the process.
"Hey, what’s wrong?"
"It hurts, Hyung. Can you hear my heart breaking? Your rejection hurts like hell." He said, feigning pain in his chest and though his acting was practically flawless, Dongwoo saw through his trick.
He stared at Seojin, wondering when he was going to give it up and stop faking it.
Seeing that that tactic didn’t work, Seojin sighed and smiled.
"Hyung, just do me a favor and keep it on. At least, just till we get to the car." He said, and Dongwoo sighed.
"Alright."
Then, he caught sight of Minwoo standing at the roadside a short distance away from them.
He stared at him for a while, wondering if he was having trouble calling a cab.
He really shouldn’t care but he couldn’t stop that nagging feeling in his heart. That nagging feeling that wanted him to approach him.
Seojin noticed Dongwoo’s attention was far across the road and saw Minwoo at the end of it. He got annoyed and glared at Minwoo.
’Hyung, why do you still concern yourself with him? You’re just too nice.’ he thought.
"Seojun is taking quite a while." Dongwoo suddenly said and the glare faded from Seojin’s eyes, turning soft as he turned to look at Dongwoo. He smiled.
"I wonder why."
They both fell silent.
"Seojin?" Dongwoo suddenly called.
"Yes, Hyung?" Seojin gleefully responded but what he heard next caused his eyebrows to twitch in annoyance.
"About Lee Minwoo."
He tried to keep his smile up as he asked,
"What about him, Hyung? Did he make trouble with you when you went to the rooftop earlier?" He asked but Dongwoo shook his head.
"No, it’s not that." He said. "Let’s..." He turned and locked eyes with Seojin, making sure he understood what he was trying to say. "...work well together from now on. Don’t let personal feelings complicate things, okay?"
It took a while for Seojin to respond and with darkened eyes, he said,
"Of course, Hyung. Since you’re asking, I’ll try not to let my personal feelings get in the way of work. But in return, you’ll have to give me a little something to make me feel better." He said and before Dongwoo could ask what he wanted in return, Seojun drove in and parked in front of them.
He wound down the window and said,
"Hyung gets front seat this time."
"And if I refuse?"
"I’m the driver here. My service, my rules." He said and grinned. "Unless you want to walk home, be my guest."
Seojin felt an irk form on his forehead but he did not say anything further. He opened the door for Dongwoo and said,
"Get in, Hyung. And make sure to watch your head." He said and Dongwoo nodded.
"You shouldn’t have to do this. If you get photographed..."
"Just get in, Hyung. Let’s enjoy our last day of freedom while we can." He smiled.
Dongwoo didn’t know why but those words and that smile made his heart race. He was so charming.
"Oh, alright."
As they drove by, Dongwoo noticed Minwoo was no longer in the spot he had seen him standing at earlier.
’Stop thinking about him, please.’ he shut his eyes.
