Iron Harvest: When Farming Becomes Conquest -
Chapter 442 - 15: Iaos’s Prophetic Dream
Chapter 442: Chapter 15: Iaos’s Prophetic Dream
Ghost Dream encompasses many things: the past, present, future, symbols, revelations, etc.
Ghost Dream generally refers to all deep and mysterious dreams.
What Roman truly needs are scholars, scholars excel at dream interpretation, but the Academic City won’t send scholars here to answer Roman’s doubts and questions.
When Roman asked Shasta, she felt a bit shy and guilty. She hasn’t delved deeply into Ghost Dream, but deep down, she suspects it might be related to her.
She mentioned it before sleeping last night, and as a result, Roman truly dreamt of some strange things. Was there a connection between them?
Or perhaps she shouldn’t have taught Roman the spell? Was it those spells that disturbed his dreams, pulling him into the Netherworld and tainting him with an ominous curse?
It’s said that everyone who touches the Netherworld invariably meets an ill fate, either dying poorly or eternally falling into darkness.
Even the Prophet once mentioned that when teaching spells, one must explain the situation, treating spells as ’tools’ and never trying to uncover their principles; otherwise, one might encounter the Devil...
Thinking of this, Shasta’s heart suddenly trembled.
Roman, however, appeared relaxed; it’s been months since he had a good sleep. Despite Ghost Dream usually torturing the dreamer, leaving them pale when awakened.
"I’ll call Margaret." Shasta couldn’t sit still, donned a deep purple satin, and quickly brought in the Scarlet Witch from next door.
Margaret entered, sat silently on the bedside like a subdued young wife, fitting well with her taciturn nature.
"Mary, I had a dream..." Roman softly conveyed the information from the dream.
Margaret’s eyes lit up, and then grew brighter.
She summarized, "A vast battlefield of dragons and gods, armies clashing... enveloping darkness, footsteps in the dark... and the final pungent smell you detected?"
"Yes." Roman nodded. "Explain it to me."
"The first is related to this land; this war might occur in the past, present, or future." Margaret spoke with a gleam in her eyes, a look Roman had never seen on her before, her fair face seeming to glow.
Does she see him as ’kindred’? Hence the excitement? Roman speculated silently.
Indeed, she has always liked and admired him, but Roman doesn’t understand her pursuit and never will.
Roman only knows how to respect Margaret’s interests; as long as they don’t affect his plans, whatever she says is right.
Margaret, however, was deceived by his false attitude.
The Scarlet Witch is simple and easily fooled, unaware that he pities her and privately considers her deeply loveless.
"The second is a Revelation, it’s telling you, it’s coming..."
"Who?"
Thud, thud!
The maid’s voice came from outside the door: "Your Highness, Princess Tashina wants to see you, says it’s important."
The White Steel Princess never pays casual visits, nor does she socialize unless it’s important.
That beautiful yet cold woman is like the hard white stone on the mountain.
Roman glanced at the radiant Margaret, his rising interest being quenched by a bucket of ice water, he turned his head and replied, "Let her wait for me in the hall for a moment."
"As you command, Your Highness." The maid retreated.
Roman went to the wardrobe, Shasta beside him assisted in dressing and adorning.
"Who is it?" Roman casually asked the unfinished topic.
Margaret’s eyes showed some confusion: "I don’t know either, perhaps it’s your destiny reminding you."
"What about the third?"
"You provided too little information; what exactly is that pungent smell... I have no way of guessing." Margaret said.
She glanced at Roman, hesitated to speak, wanting to ask something, yet gave up.
Autumn had long set in, the temperature in the morning dropped suddenly.
Roman entered the castle hall, dressed in black velvet tight attire, tall leather boots adorned with intricate golden iron rings, a flaming red half-cloak draped over his shoulders, an amber brooch pinned at his chest, and a creamy white icy gem embedded at the center of his broad belt; even by noon, he didn’t feel hot.
"Princess, what is it?" He just sat down, grabbing a piece of white bread, neatly spread Yellowberry jam before stuffing it into his mouth.
"Pirates and the Church Court fought a battle outside Iron Flower Castle." The White Steel Princess stated succinctly.
One statement gave Roman pause for three seconds.
His expression gradually became solemn, repeating, "Fought a battle?"
"Yes, a comprehensive battlefield, both sides invested High Rank forces!"
"Who won?"
"By your standards, neither did."
Roman always felt defending the castle counted not as victory, he sat upright, leaned against the high-backed chair behind him, rubbing his chin, revealing a look of enlightenment.
"So that’s what the dream was about!"
Upon hearing this, Tashina squinted her eyes slightly. Her intelligence was stronger than Roman’s, who was merely exhausting his efforts to defend against Makor’s raid.
Theoretically, the situation unfolding on the land is full of chaos for him...
Tashina abruptly asked, "Did you have a prophetic dream?"
"You know as well?"
"Of course, Lord Roman, the witches on the Black Iron side call it Ghost Dream, while the ones on Igo’s side call it Long Meng. Iaos individually refers to it as a Prophetic Dream..." Tashina said calmly, though her heart was anything but calm.
Iaos conquered the land, relying not solely on his unmatched Black Iron Army but also on the revelations he obtained from dreams.
Nothing could be hidden from him, nothing could stop him.
That’s why Iaos triumphed in battle repeatedly and created miracles of the era.
She bore the pure bloodline of the ancient Divine Mysterious, why had she never encountered the deep mysterious dreams?
Tashina suddenly clenched her fists.
Originally, she didn’t mind the matter, but now a new Revelation was right in front of her.
This round of leading the Human Clan through the Dark Age wasn’t supposed to be the king’s offspring but Alster’s?
How... how could this be!
’No! I don’t believe that result! According to the Court Secret History composed by Iaos, among the descendants of the kings there’s destined to emerge a Savior, who will stand out at the time of the apocalypse, opening a peaceful, eternal, happy era for the world... My teachers, my White Knights, they told me, told me since childhood, the future Savior of the land is only one, only me...’
Roman called her twice, only to see Tashina lost in thought, unaware of what she was contemplating.
"Princess Tana!" Roman tapped the table with his knuckles.
Tashina returned to her senses, closing her emerald eyes.
"I want to ask why the Conqueror refers to it as a Prophetic Dream?"
Tashina replied after a moment of silence, "Because Iaos can also foresee the future in dreams; he believes there will be an unprecedented catastrophe in the future, for the Human Clan to transcend that disaster, the Seven Kingdoms must stand together to guard the land. The kings of the land bear this responsibility, and the descendants of kings continue the destiny... protecting the Human Clan..."
As she spoke such secret knowledge, she wondered internally what kind of consciousness the Conqueror had when establishing order?
No one can deny that Iaos emerged from the Dark Age as the greatest knight of the Human Clan.
When he wanted to be a King, he became the most wise, most outstanding Monarch.
Conquering south and north, invincible, Iaos became the universally approved Black Iron Conqueror.
And those people suffering hardships, living in constant fear, sincerely supported him.
During his more than thirty years of rule, the citizens thrived, order was good, and disputes vanished, it was a prosperous era unseen for centuries.
Yet under those circumstances, why choose to march on the Nether Sea?
With the Prophetic Dream, you should have some prediction for the future, shouldn’t you?
But even so, Iaos, you went forth resolutely, without looking back...
