Chapter 994: Chapter 993: Distinguish the Bones

"Kid, not bad, ascending just three months ago, and you’ve jumped from Spirit Immortal Rank One to Heavenly Immortal Ninth Grade, skipping eighteen minor levels. Looks like you’re a genius too," Yusuf Zuck had just entered the examination area when those young men who had followed Delilah Ferguson and seen Yusuf earlier surrounded him with hostile gazes.

"It’s alright," Yusuf replied indifferently.

"Whoa, someone’s got a big mouth."

"Looks like someone’s got a temper, too."

"I see defiance in his eyes," said one of the young men.

"I can also tell he’s forcing himself to appear calm," added another.

Six or seven young men laughed and mocked Yusuf, who also began to laugh, muttering to himself, "I used to raise some dogs. Once they received my order, they’d go off and do all sorts of things, including troubling others."

"Of course, sometimes they were even cheaper; they’d trouble others just to please me, without any orders. It seems dogs will be dogs, and can never become humans!"

"What does he mean by that?" One of the young men asked, confused.

"He’s calling us dogs!"

"You’re looking for a beating!"

"Boom—" In an instant, a murderous intent flashed in the eyes of several young men. They were Delilah Ferguson’s lackeys, and Yusuf calling them dogs infuriated them. Whether or not they had been instigated by Delilah, they had sought to trouble Yusuf just to gain her favor.

"Haha, gentlemen, don’t take it personally," Yusuf said with a faint smile, and as he lightly stepped forward, he bypassed the young men and stood beside Delilah Ferguson.

Delilah, too, was brimming with a murderous look, yet with a hint of playfulness and interest. She sized Yusuf up and down and said with a smile, "Looks like you’re different from your worthless master—you’re not dumb, just brazenly confident. But I have to admit, you’ve got guts."

"I’ve always been quite bold. But little sister, your fixation on me—have you fallen for me? Although I was beloved by all back in the Lower Realm, the flowers bloomed at the sight of me, I’m not just anybody."

"Kid, you’re seriously asking for it..." One of the young men was livid with rage, ’swoosh,’ he leaped in front of Yusuf, clenching his fists, huffing heavily.

What kind of menial worker is this? Who in the world has a menial worker so audacious? His status as a menial worker seemed to overshadow theirs as Inner Sect Disciples, those of high standing and status, which nearly made the young men’s lungs explode with fury!

"I really don’t like people who bluff," said Yusuf, chuckling as he glanced at the young men, "all this shouting and threatening to ’explode’ me with your eyes, do you find it amusing? This is the Alchemy College’s examination contest. Aren’t you aware that even speaking loudly is prohibited here, let alone fighting and killing? So cut it out, drop the act!"

"You..." The young men were so angry they were at a loss for words, because Yusuf was stating the facts—this was an examination site, where even loud talking was forbidden, let alone private brawling.

"Enough," Delilah suddenly interjected sternly, "He’s deliberately provoking you; can’t you hear it? You’re quite something, little menial worker. I’ll remember you from now on."

"My name’s Zayden Newton; ’Newton’ as in the ’Newton’ from Zayden Newton, ’Dail’ as in the ’Dail’ from Zayden Newton," Yusuf cheerfully replied.

Delilah responded with a faint smile, "Whether you’re Zayden Newton or Zayden Weakton, let me make it clear to you—your future in the Campbell Sect will be filled with unforgettable ’enjoyment’!"

"It’s definitely going to be a blast, no need for you to tell me," Yusuf shrugged.

A young man lowered his voice fiercely and said, "Hmph, boy, let’s see how you die. Maybe you were someone in the Lower Realm, even the best in the world, but we’ve seen plenty of these self-proclaimed number ones from the Lower Realm, and in the end, they’re all less than pigs and dogs to us!"

Another young man also lowered his voice and said, "Kid, no one can protect you, your so-called master is a piece of trash, and even if the Alchemy Dean will shield you, we will make your life worse than death!"

"Enough, giving him so much attention is elevating him. Let’s prepare for the trial; this time it’s a group interview," Delilah Ferguson said lightly, waving her hand dismissively and ignoring Yusuf Zuck.

The other young men also gave Yusuf Zuck a disdainful glance before standing on either side of Delilah Ferguson.

There are certain flowers abundant in nectar that attract bees and butterflies, and Delilah Ferguson was that flower, with all those around her either fawning over her or hoping to become romantically involved with her.

"All right, this group, follow me!" Just then, a man with the surname Gou walked out from behind the exam hall and ordered Yusuf Zuck’s group to follow him inside.

At the same time, he also gave Yusuf Zuck a chilling glance.

Yusuf Zuck just touched his nose, thinking about how adversaries are inevitably encountered on a narrow road, and now it seemed he had fallen into the hands of this man named Gou, who had previously had issues with Rafael Case.

Over a hundred people were lined up in two rows, moving forward, with Yusuf Zuck at the very end.

There was no helping it; he was merely a chores disciple, and all the candidates in front of him were elite Inner Sect Disciples or top disciples from the outer sect.

He didn’t know why he had been placed in this group or why he had to take the interview with these people.

The square’s central rear held a towering hall, and under the eaves of that hall were four characters that greatly surprised Yusuf Zuck: "Iron Blood, Alchemy Heart!"

Seeing these characters, he thought of a song and wished he could pull out his Divine Bow and shoot those bastard youths in front of him!

The hall was vast, with a high dome, and seated high above in the hall were four individuals, with another eight below them, and sixteen below them.

However, apart from the head of the sect in the middle, Yusuf Zuck recognized none of them, and Rafael Case was not present either.

As he entered the hall, everyone’s gaze swiftly passed over Delilah Ferguson and the others and fixated on him.

He, however, remained silent and avoided eye contact with anyone, focusing solely on the backs of the candidates in front of him.

"Alright, let’s begin," a third-generation disciple responsible for the exam stood up and, with a wave of his hand, produced a table with something resembling a Bone Fossil on top, along with a stack of cards at the corner.

"All candidates are to walk past the table in turn, pick up the object to identify what it is, and write an explanation on one of the cards."

"Of course, there must be no communication. After each person writes down their answer and name, they should immediately place the card back on the table."

"Another point to note is that anyone who answers incorrectly will be eliminated on the spot. Those who answer correctly will stay to participate in the second interview question, so let’s get started and make the most of our time."

The curious Yusuf Zuck at the back wondered what kind of interview this was, making them identify a Bone Fossil? Was it to determine the species of the bone or to date it? He was somewhat puzzled.

However, the people in front had already started moving forward; they picked up the bone and scrutinized it closely before swiftly writing down their answers and placing them on the table.
