The Book of Life fused with Yusuf Zuck seamlessly, under the interaction between the Book of Flame and the Book of Earth, the Book of Life also found residence deep within his soul.

However, this Book of Life was shrouded in mystery; the scroll that resulted from his fusion was, astonishingly, blank.

That’s right, just like when he fused with the Book of Earth years ago, when the Book of Life was unfurled, it was just a blank page with nothing inside.

Of course, even though there was nothing, after fusing with the Book of Life, Yusuf Zuck could sense the rhythm of all living creatures in the world; he could even hear the breathing of plants and trees, and he was able to sense and extract the purest essence of life force.

Nevertheless, the life force he extracted was also absorbed by the Book of Life, disappearing without a trace, like fish diving into the sea.

Yusuf Zuck vaguely guessed that the Book of Life must contain Divine Skills, but they remained locked because there was not enough life force inside the book; he would need to keep absorbing life force to fill the Book of Life to unlock them.

A day later, he left with everyone, including that Ruby Wood girl.

There was no wedding ceremony, no rituals conducted. The other party did request a marriage ceremony, but he refused because to this day, he hadn’t held any ceremony for Ruth Wilcox or Louise Garrett and the others; how could he possibly offer such a treatment to Ruby Wood?

Moreover, Ruby Wood’s true form was actually just a plant called ’Rhino Grass’; frankly, she wasn’t human, just a plant that had gained sentience.

He would fulfill the promise he made to the Elf Clan. They tried to bind him with the promise of marriage, and he could accept that, but a wedding ceremony was out of the question. Taking Ruby Wood with him was already his biggest concession.

"Senior, there is one thing I must do before Ascension," Yusuf Zuck said to Landyn Torres after they left the Elf Clan, stopping amid the vast expanse of stars.

"What else needs to be done?" Landyn Torres asked with a frown.

"I wish to return to the Saint Dragon Continent one more time."

"What?" Landyn Torres was startled. "Haven’t I told you that Immortals have descended there? If you go, you will surely die. Don’t think you are invincible!"

"No, no, no, listen to me, Senior," Yusuf Zuck waved his hands repeatedly, "I can become invisible, I can change my form, I even have doppelgangers. I’m not going to provoke those Immortals; I just want to go back... to find out what happened to Ember Vance!"

"I don’t know if she’s dead, or where she died. In our hometown, we believe in resting in peace by burial, so if I ascend, it would be an abandonment of her. I don’t want to let her down; if I leave this plane to ascend without a care, then I would no longer be myself!"

"How about I help you look for her? You can ascend first," Landyn Torres took a deep breath and said.

"I hope you agree, Senior!" Yusuf Zuck didn’t waste any more words but bowed deeply, not rising from his bow.

"Hmph, stubborn one!" Landyn Torres was so irritated that his lips quivered slightly; Yusuf Zuck was reneging on the agreement at this stage.

It wasn’t that Yusuf Zuck was going back on his word; he had actually planned this from the beginning but had simply not spoken of it. He had followed Landyn Torres to the Elf Plane after hearing him ask for help; he was there to provide assistance, but who could have thought it would be after Ascension? Thus, this was not part of his plan.

Before helping, he needed to fulfill his unfinished wishes.

"Let’s go; this round trip will take another year!" Landyn Torres knew that once Yusuf Zuck had made up his mind, he wouldn’t turn back or change his mind, so he scooped up Yusuf Zuck and returned the way they came.

"It’s best to let me enter your sanctuary. Call on me when we get to the Saint Dragon Continent, I’ll be in seclusion, cultivating," Yusuf Zuck said with a light smile.

"Get lost inside it," Landyn Torres said irritably as he threw him into his sanctuary.

After Yusuf Zuck entered Landyn Torres’s cave paradise, he truly started to cultivate in seclusion.

He didn’t use the Life Spirit Stone to open the Blood Beads, nor did he try to comprehend the Book of Life, but instead, he entered a state of recollection. He wanted to calm his heart and review the knowledge he had gained over the years, to ponder over his own life.

After all, it wouldn’t be long before he would truly leave this place, perhaps... perhaps he might never return within his lifetime, and he would embark on a completely different path.

Of course, he could only move forward now, unable to turn back, and there was no way to return. He had many things to do ahead, and he knew his life was bound by fate.

He entered a state where he was void of self and ignorant, where his soul felt ethereal. Through the years of life and death, through all the ups and downs, some friends and brothers had gone forever, and the women he loved were eternally separated by life and death.

The past was irreversible and the future filled with the unknown, and in truth, he really didn’t know where he would end up. He was very bewildered and also in danger.

It was not the path ahead that was dangerous, but he felt that he himself was in danger. His current state could no longer be considered that of a ’normal’ person’s. He felt he was increasingly drifting away from the essence of being human, as various desires were diminishing. That was not right, and so, during this seclusion, he wanted to reorganize his life.

He just wanted to be a person of flesh and blood!

It’s hard to say how long it had been, perhaps a few months or half a year. While Yusuf Zuck was still immersed in the state of reminiscing about the past and planning for the future, his body suddenly felt light, and he appeared next to Landyn Torres.

He suddenly opened his eyes and then realized that he was standing on the top of a mountain.

"Eh?" At this moment, Landyn Torres suddenly uttered a soft exclamation and looked him up and down.

"What’s wrong? Is there something amiss with me? Where is this?" Yusuf Zuck asked with a smile.

"Your talent for cultivation is probably of an exceptional and monstrous level. You have only been in retreat for a few days, yet you seem to have a bit of a detached air about you!" He saw in Yusuf Zuck’s body, within his eyes, an added tranquility, a premonition of a state of being without desires. In ancient times, High Virtue Monk had been in such a state before achieving the status of a great monk, with body and soul united, and the soul cleansed to become pure and flawless.

Yusuf Zuck might not have reached that state, but he had begun to show signs of it.

"Are you trying to say that I’m about to become a monk?" Yusuf Zuck laughed heartily: "Let’s forget about that. I have beautiful ladies, fathers and siblings. I still want the joy of a family and the pleasure of kinship."

"Hehe, I know what soul realm you’ve reached. Are you no longer interested in marital affairs? Does the sight of beautiful women seem no different to pink Skeletons? And your current state of mind just wishes for your loved ones to lead good and peaceful lives?"

"You’re very dangerous like this," Landyn Torres said with a smiling eye.

"It is very dangerous," Yusuf Zuck nodded and said, "Next time I go into seclusion, could you not disturb me, please? Don’t you know that it’s very rude of you to do so?"

"When I say you’re in danger, don’t you understand?" Landyn Torres said with surprise.

"I understand what you mean. I don’t want to become an Immortal or undergo Divinity Transformation. I don’t wish to leap out of the Three Realms or be outside the Five Elements, nor do I desire to achieve success and fame. That’s why I want to become... a ’person’ again because I have blood and flesh, and so, I have come back to look for Ember Vance."

"It’s good that you understand that. I won’t say more then; you must walk your own path." Landyn Torres nodded. Since Yusuf Zuck still knew he was a person, evidently, he had also identified the dangers within himself and was working hard to resolve them.

"This is the Eastern Continent, and that valley ahead is a secret realm called Peach Blossom Valley. Back then, I placed your loved ones there in Peach Blossom Valley, but how are you planning to find Ember Vance’s traces?"
