Chapter 902 - 901
Chapter 902: 901
Valeria Jacobs and the other five scions of the ancient inherited clans treated Phoenix Thornton and her father with politeness and humility, but that did not mean they would do the same for others.
They all hailed from ancient clans, and back in Ancient Times, these clans were second only to God Tribe. Thus, naturally, they possessed a proud disposition and had the authority to traverse the world.
In other words, the so-called Saints of today did not have the prestige to warrant a bow and a fist from them, not to mention someone like Bryson Campbell, who was akin to a demonic figure.
Yusuf Zuck’s originally smiling face gradually became serious, and his fists, once held in salute, now fell to his sides.
At that moment, Phoenix Thornton took in a deep breath, slightly angered. Bryson Campbell was her good friend, even the man she had admired the most for many years. Yet, Valeria Jacobs and the others would ignore him as if they saw nothing?
Bryson Campbell had saluted them out of respect for Phoenix Thornton’s father, yet they trampled this gesture underfoot, which was really too much.
"Alright, alright, take a seat, everyone," Phoenix Thornton said while forcing a laugh, and at the same time, he sighed inwardly. He was a soothsayer, capable of divination and foresight. The very moment he met Yusuf Zuck, he had already glimpsed his future.
Leaving other methods aside, just the study of divination that involves observing Qi told him that Yusuf Zuck possessed the Purple Haze Light. This light clearly indicated a prosperous fate, one that brought great fortune, the favor of the Heavenly Dao, and a harbinger of brightness.
Bryson Campbell’s prospects were immeasurable!
On the contrary, when looking at Valeria Jacobs and the others, the light of fate above their heads was negligible compared to that of Bryson Campbell.
Furthermore, this was just one aspect. Divining a person’s future can involve many methods compounded together, such as observing Qi, facial features, zodiac signs, star positions, and so on. After Star Watching at night, they startlingly discovered a dazzling purple star had appeared, which perfectly corresponded to Bryson Campbell.
The purple star shines in the void, dimming all other stars; this clearly signified that Bryson Campbell was going to stir up storms here, just as he had done on the Saint Dragon Continent in the past.
Indeed, a great calamity had come upon the Central Star system. Not only Yusuf Zuck’s purple star emerged, but a Dark Star slowly approached the purple one. This Dark Star lingered longer, and wherever it went, the light of the stars would vanish, an omen even Phoenix Thornton couldn’t fully comprehend.
"Oh, so you’re Bryson Campbell," said Winston Cox with a smile that did not reach his eyes, as the six approached the tea table, "I dare ask, Mr. Bryson Campbell, why did you slaughter every member of the God Descendant Sect?"
Valeria Jacobs and the others were people with a sense of justice at heart. They sought no fame or profit, focusing only on opposing Demons and evil spirits. Wherever there was injustice, they were compelled to rectify it.
Jett Nash committed indiscriminate killings, and so they were tracking and pursuing him. In the past, when greater demons caused chaos, they would also bravely seek to eliminate the threat. When they saw a weaker cultivator being bullied, they too would stand forth to administer justice.
Put simply, they possessed a heart that pitied all beings under the heavens; of course, this was also their path of cultivation. Thus meeting Bryson Campbell today naturally left a bad taste, as he too had committed unjustified killings. Though not yet on their blacklist, they had no mood for politeness or civility towards him!
Yusuf Zuck picked up his cup of tea and took a sip. He realized these people were looking for trouble with him. What puzzled him, though, was their intentions, yet all of them bore double surnames, which was quite unusual.
"I didn’t slaughter the entire God Descendant Sect. Over a hundred people escaped," said Yusuf Zuck, still smiling.
"How is that any different from slaughtering them all?" Luke Gardner said angrily.
"Alright, Skye Torres, what brings you here today?" Prophet Thornton forcibly interrupted the conversation between Yusuf Zuck and the others, fearing that if it continued, they might actually come to blows.
"Oh, there’s nothing particularly important, I just wanted to ask Uncle about something he once said: ’Three hundred years after the origin star systems, which is now, natural chaos will ensue, the world will be in disarray, demons will dance wildly, stars will fall, and our origin star systems will undergo a bloody baptism!’" When Valeria Jacobs said this, she glanced at Yusuf Zuck before continuing, "And now all signs indicate that natural chaos has indeed begun, and demons dance wildly."
Her implication was clear; among those wildly dancing demons was Bryson Campbell himself!
Yusuf Zuck, on the other hand, didn’t mind being called a demon and was rather interested in hearing how Prophet Thornton would respond.
"Heh heh, those were just jesting words at that time. The Heavenly Dao has its own fated destiny, whether we are humans or Demon Cultivators, all beings in the world have their own cycles and predestined fate. Thus, what should happen will happen, and what shouldn’t, won’t—all is determined by the heavens!"
"Indeed, the Heavenly Dao governs the fate of all creatures, and we can only do our utmost, doing what we must!" Valeria Jacobs exhaled and slightly bowed to Prophet Thornton, "Another matter, for several months, we have been tracking the great evil Jett Nash, but each time we have been unable to find any trace of him. Uncle, as a prophet, could you perhaps assist me this once? This Jett Nash has taken countless lives, abducted I don’t know how many children, and stars ravaged by him are piles of corpses and seas of blood—it’s truly terrifying. And now several major clans are ignoring this, so I implore Uncle to help me discern the whereabouts of Jett Nash."
"Jett Nash," Prophet Thornton inhaled deeply before speaking, "I advise you not to get close to him. This man is not meant to die young, and if you get close to him, I fear you will be in danger!"
Valeria Jacobs smiled faintly, "This world is full of dangers. If no one takes action, if no one cares, then this world in which we live will quickly come to an end!"
"True. The six of us have left the mountains to walk the earth, precisely to deal with the injustices of the world!" When Winston Cox spoke these words, he also gave Yusuf Zuck a cold look.
After thinking for a while, Prophet Thornton said, "If I’m not mistaken, by this time, Jett Nash has probably already reached the Central Star!"
"What? He dares to come to the Central Star? Is this true?" Valeria Jacobs and her companions were greatly shocked, while Yusuf Zuck also frowned slightly. Jett Nash must already know about his own emergence, right?
And now that Jett Nash had become an old demon, ranking third among the great evils, his strength was probably immense, reaching to the skies and penetrating the earth. Knowing about his own emergence, he would surely seek revenge on himself, so coming to the Central Star was only natural.
Yet, Yusuf Zuck also hadn’t expected these six people to be actually chasing after Jett Nash, all appearing righteous and concerned for the people of the world.
"Truly," affirmed Prophet Thornton with a nod.
"How did Uncle come to know of this?" Luke Gardner asked.
Prophet Thornton shook his head, "The secrets of heaven must not be revealed!"
"Humph, coming to the Central Star is seeking his own death!" Winston Cox snorted angrily and suddenly stood up, "Uncle, we shall take our leave!"
"Farewell." The others also stood up, bowed to Prophet Thornton, and then walked out with big strides.
Valeria Jacobs walked last, seemingly having something to say to Prophet Thornton, while Prophet Thornton courteously saw them off himself.
Yusuf Zuck did not stand up, and neither did Phoenix Thornton. As soon as the six people had left, she immediately said annoyed, "Don’t be angry, Young Master, but be careful of them. In this world, if they are not friends, then they are enemies, so the next time we meet, if they are rude to you again, don’t consider my relationship with them—kill if you must!"
