Chapter 712: Chapter 711: Grayson Martin

Two people came from the vast mountains this time, one was Ray Dickson, who had arrived some days ago, and the other was their second-in-command, most importantly, the second-in-command was a human!

In the Mainland, it was rare for humans to associate with Demon Cultivators. In Yusuf Zuck’s understanding, humans regarded demons as beasts, capturing male demons to serve as doorkeeping dogs or labor-intensive enforcers, while captured females were inevitably used to warm their beds, which had become an unwritten law.

Yet a human who had managed to become second-in-command among the great demons clearly was no ordinary person.

Yusuf Zuck made his way to the square, and looking down, he saw two figures standing at the entrance of the gorge—one was the long-armed Ray Dickson, and the other was a roughly thirty-year-old young man dressed in white, his appearance dashing and handsome. Francisco Zuck stood to one side, providing a ceremonial welcome.

Of course, Francisco Zuck was not qualified to lead them into Chicken Mountain, nor could she do so.

After pondering for a brief moment, Yusuf Zuck suddenly laughed, then flicked his finger, and a streak of green light shot forth instantly, landing in front of Ray Dickson and the others. Then the green light expanded to form a line that continuously widened and stretched to the summit, creating a direct passage to the top of the mountain, making the surrounding mists and formations vanish.

"I bid you welcome!" Yusuf Zuck shouted from atop the mountain.

"Please," Francisco Zuck made an inviting gesture with her hand, while the other dozen or so great demons stood on both sides of the square, serving both as a welcome and a guard. As for Ruth Wilcox and Ember Vance, they stayed behind in the inner house.

A moment later, Francisco Zuck guided Ray Dickson and the second-in-command up the mountain. Upon face-to-face meeting, the second-in-command immediately bowed with clasped fists, saying, "Grayson Martin of the vast mountains pays respects to Mr. Luo."

"Greetings, Mr. Luo," Ray Dickson also bowed in greetings.

"Haha, esteemed guests, please," Yusuf Zuck laughed, making a gesture of invitation to the two men.

The two men smiled and returned the gesture, then walked into the main hall with Yusuf Zuck.

They did not look around curiously and displayed very polite manners.

Once seated, Francisco Zuck served tea, and Yusuf Zuck spoke first, "These past few days, I have been in seclusion, intending to visit the leaders of the vast mountains after some time, but I have never found the time. I hope Brother Grayson and Brother Ray won’t take offense."

"Mr. Luo jests," Grayson Martin chuckled and shook his head. "We come again unannounced, for we are in need of Mr. Zuck’s assistance with an important matter."

"Oh? What is the matter?" Yusuf Zuck asked curiously.

Grayson Martin glanced and then pondered, "To be frank, our leader has a sole daughter, and this daughter is also born of the leader and a human woman. Of course, Mr. Zuck, please do not misunderstand; our leader is not the kind of person who forcefully takes women. He and his wife met and fell in love by chance, and they later had their only daughter, Feng’er. But Feng’er has always been frail and sickly from birth, and also possessed mediocre aptitude. Only with the full effort of the leader and an assortment of elixirs from me did Feng’er barely reach the Golden Core Realm. And now, considering her lifespan, Feng’er’s time is nearly up; in a few months, she will turn to dust."

"The leader is extremely anxious for his beloved daughter, seeking famous doctors, remedies, and scholars, but to no avail."

"Some time ago, we heard that a **** demon appeared on Chicken Mountain. After careful inquiries, we discovered **** demons all hailed from guards along the East Sea coast, and all had advanced to Feather Transform in a single night. Several great demons even at the Early Golden Core Stage managed to Feather Transform."

"Therefore, our leader wishes to ask for Mr. Luo’s help. Feng’er is also at the Early Golden Core Stage, and without Feather Transformation, she is sure to die!"

"Oh," Yusuf Zuck drew a deep breath; indeed, they wanted to advance a Demon Cultivator from Golden Core to Feather Transform overnight. Perhaps they hoped he would produce an elixir for them to study back home.

"No problem, I can help Feng’er Feather Transform. But why did you not bring Miss Feng’er with you?" Yusuf Zuck cursed inwardly; she was almost on her deathbed, and should be called Old Lady Feng, right?

"Mr. Zuck has agreed?" Grayson Martin and Ray Dickson were shocked, as they hadn’t expected Yusuf Zuck to acquiesce so readily.

"Saving a life is a merit, and besides, we are friends, aren’t we?" Yusuf Zuck said with a smile.

"Thank you, Mr. Luo. Ray, hurry back to the mountain and bring the young lady here. Be safe on the way!" Grayson Martin said gravely.

"Understood!" Ray Dickson saluted with a long arm sweep, and after saluting to the others around him, he immediately headed down the mountain.

"If I’m not mistaken, the head of the sect may personally come over. Mr. Luo’s kindness, our Chicken Mountain has taken to heart," Grayson Martin said, taking a deep breath.

"No need to be so polite, but I’m actually very curious about the second in command. How come you’re fraternizing with demons?" Yusuf Zuck asked playfully.

"The leader of our sect once saved my life, and demon cultivators are forthright by nature, without scheming. Being their companion, I live at ease and in comfort. To be honest with you, I used to be an official, so I became disillusioned with worldly affairs. After taking on the path of cultivation, I’ve always been puzzled why humans consider demon cultivators natural enemies."

"Of course, another reason I fraternize with demons is that the current dynasty annihilated my entire family. Had the sect leader not saved me, I would have been executed long ago. Sometimes, I loathe humans a great deal."

"However, I’m not radical about it. There are good and bad among humans, and I see that very clearly," Grayson Martin said with a light shake of his head.

"The second in command has a kind heart!" Yusuf Zuck praised. This man, who presented himself with an air of nonchalance, truly had a pleasant disposition.

"What about you? How did you become the Master of Chicken Mountain, and why do you fraternize with demons?" Grayson Martin asked in return.

"It’s they who fraternize with me," Yusuf Zuck laughed heartily. "They are all very obedient. As for being the Master of Chicken Mountain... it was by chance, and also an opportunity, I guess!" Yusuf Zuck said with a smile.

"Is your master still around? Could you introduce us?" Grayson Martin suddenly asked.

"Uh... My master?" Yusuf Zuck was stunned; he didn’t have any master.

"What do you mean?" Yusuf Zuck hadn’t quite caught on yet.

"Ahem." Grayson Martin looked embarrassed, saluted apologetically, and said, "I was presumptuous, truly presumptuous." He thought Yusuf Zuck was feigning ignorance.

"It’s not presumptuous. We are both human. If you have something to say, just say it. You mentioned my master? Where did you hear about that?" Yusuf Zuck asked curiously.

"Seven days ago, on Chicken Mountain, an Earth Immortal displayed the Technique of Universe in Sleeve, transporting one hundred and one people thirty thousand li away. Among those one hundred and one were twenty Divinity Transformation, two Leaving Body, and one Return to Void. This event has shocked the world. That Earth Immortal declared that henceforth, nobody should come to Chicken Mountain to cause trouble!"

"Oh, you’re talking about that incident!" Yusuf Zuck suddenly realized. So those hundred-plus Nascent Soul stage experts weren’t taken away by the blue-shirted cultivator, but sent thirty thousand li away! What a shock it was to the world!

"That person is not my master, just an old friend of mine. He’s in seclusion in the back mountain, practicing cultivation. He said he wouldn’t come out for a few years and asked us not to disturb him," Yusuf Zuck said with a smile.

"I see!" Grayson Martin sighed with relief and said, "It was impertinent of me!"

"By the way, there’s another matter. May I ask why you are an enemy of the Heavenly Origin Sect? Perhaps we could offer some help," Grayson Martin suddenly said.
