Chapter 709: Chapter 708: Universe in the Sleeve

"You are unaware of the treasure mountain you possess," said the green-robed cultivator with a shake of his head and a smile as he pointed at Yusuf’s Purple Light Sword. "Take good care of it, and don’t show it off lightly. It’s a precious treasure, and there are probably only two or three like it on the Mainland!"

"Is it really an Immortal Sword?" Yusuf asked, swallowing hard.

"Yes, with this sword, I could split this little Chicken Mountain in two with a single stroke!" The green-robed cultivator nodded affirmatively.

"Whoosh~" Yusuf and everyone else gasped in shock!

"Go on, show me your swordsmanship. What’s a show without some fun? Perform a sword dance for me to see!" The green-robed cultivator actually asked Yusuf to perform a sword dance.

"Swordsmanship? I don’t know any," Yusuf immediately shook his head, "When I used this sword to kill before, it was all stabs and chops, no real swordsmanship involved!"

"You don’t know swordsmanship? Then what are you doing with that sword?" The green-robed cultivator’s eyes widened in astonishment. "Such a waste of heaven’s gifts!"

"Junior would like to see senior perform the sword dance," Yusuf said with a sly grin.

"Forget about it, this little Chicken Mountain wouldn’t be able to handle my sword dance," the green-robed cultivator shook his head and then suddenly smiled, "However, I do have a set of Sword Dao skills, are you interested in learning?"

"Certainly, I am," Yusuf immediately stood up excitedly.

"Then you’ll have to take me as your master and then leave with me."

"Then never mind, I can’t leave," Yusuf said as he plopped back down. What would he do about his wife if he left?

"Hahaha," seeing Yusuf’s distressed expression, the green-robed cultivator laughed heartily, but he didn’t press the issue further and didn’t mention the Sword Dao skills again. It seemed that he would not give Yusuf the skills unless he became his disciple.

The two goats were quickly reduced to bones. It seemed the green-robed cultivator was a bit tipsy as he finished his drink and headed off to sleep in the back hall.

"Master, this person must be an Earth Immortal!" The cluster of demons cautiously gathered around Yusuf, with Black Jiao whispering, "He can’t possibly be a True Immortal."

"What’s an Earth Immortal?" Yusuf asked curiously.

"We’re not exactly sure what it is, but it should be someone who failed to successfully overcome the Immortal Tribulation and became an immortal upon falling back to earth. Although they didn’t achieve Ascension, they still possess immense powers on the earth, also called Terrestrial True Immortals, and each of them has vast Divine Skills."

Francisco added, "He seems to have left the Mainland; I’m really curious about where he went."

"Such beings can travel across the cosmos, soaring above to the stars in the sky!"

"Master, you must take him as your teacher; this person is formidable."

"Master, don’t miss this opportunity."

All the demons started to urge him.

Yusuf gave a wistful smile, "Leave it to fate. If I can take him as my master, so be it; if I can’t, it’s no big deal. I wouldn’t leave my family behind just to become his disciple. I’m not cultivating for immortality or to become powerful, I just want to be with my loved ones, that’s all, and to live without being bullied."

"Lad, no more big talk; someone’s come to bully you right now." A voice exploded next to Yusuf and the others’ ears, followed by a sudden quake that rocked the ground.

Yusuf and the others were startled, and the sixteen demons immediately ran to the edge of the plaza to look down.

"Master, it’s no good—there’s a whole bunch of people surrounding Chicken Mountain again," the demons-called out in alarm.

Yusuf Zuck walked over, and when he looked down at the foot of the mountain, he saw that there were about a hundred people or so, and each of their cultivation levels was above the Nascent Soul.

About a dozen people with small flags were positioning themselves around the mountain’s perimeter, staking them into the ground.

"Array Masters." Yusuf Zuck took a deep breath. Tian Yuan Sect had been preparing for days, and they had finally brought in Array Masters to attack the mountain. There must be other sects pitching in; otherwise, Tian Yuan Sect wouldn’t have this many with Nascent Souls.

"How did you manage to make enemies with these people?" The man in green robes came out again, looking as if he had sobered up.

"There’s a favored daughter of the head of Tian Yuan Sect. She captured my woman, and then the Sect Leader took a fancy to her, wanting to take her as his concubine. Tell me, does that not make them my enemies?" Yusuf Zuck said coldly.

"The hate for one who killed your father, the anger for one who’s taken your wife—it’s the sort of thing that engenders the deepest loathing," agreed the man in green robes with a nod and a smile. "But, your woman must be a beauty capable of overthrowing states, otherwise, why would the Sect Leader want to marry her?"

"That’s why I’ve already killed that Sect Leader’s two sons, more than a dozen Golden Cores, and caused an uproar at Tian Yuan Sect’s gates!"

"With that being the case, your feud has grown deeper and deeper. It’s a knot that cannot be untied," the green-robed cultivator sighed. "To pursue the path of cultivation is inevitably to be unable to escape the cycle of life, death, and vendettas."

"I’m leaving." He gave Yusuf Zuck a glance and said, "Do you want to make a decision to come with me? I can take you to a different world, where you can acquire Supreme Divine Power. In less than a thousand years, you can return, and then you will be able to dominate this Mainland. Whether human or demon, they will all bow to you!"

"That sounds pretty good." Yusuf Zuck smiled. "And then after a thousand years, when I’ve unified this Mainland, I will see that the woman I loved back then has borne a slew of children for another man, I will see that my current two wives have become to mourn deeply, or turned into nothing but dry bones. So tell me, what would be the point of my cultivating the Sword Dao then?"

"Alright, you win," the green-robed cultivator suddenly sighed. "You are exactly the same as I was. I cultivated hoping my parents could also enjoy longevity, that my brothers and sisters, my woman, could all live in wealth. Back then, I didn’t want to leave either, but my master lifted me up and took me away. That’s why I hate him so much now. Although I embarked on the road to immortality, when I returned, my parents’ graves were gone, all of my kin had died! The woman I loved dearly had long since turned to dust!"

"Sometimes, I truly regret taking this path!"

"You’re not going to take me away forcibly, right? Because if you do, I’ll kill you!" Yusuf Zuck took a step back alarmingly.

"I won’t, because I don’t want to impose my pain on someone else," responded the cultivator. "To cultivate for love and affection, I believe, is the true path. If you have no kin left, the path becomes dreadfully dull!"

"Thank you, senior!" Yusuf Zuck breathed a sigh of relief.

"Since we have no master-disciple relationship, let’s part ways here. Hopefully, we’ll meet again if fate allows. Keep striving and never give up on your family; only then will your life have purpose." He patted Yusuf Zuck on the shoulder, and with a loud laugh, he leaped away.

The demons all made sorrowful faces, looking eagerly at Yusuf Zuck, because that man had really not taken Yusuf Zuck as his disciple and hadn’t left behind even a single sword technique. After wining and dining, he’d simply left.

This man was a swindler, deceiving them for food and drink!

"Children at the base of the mountain, from now on, no one is allowed to step within ten miles of Chicken Mountain!"

With a "buzzing" sound, just when Yusuf Zuck and the demons felt pity, the sky suddenly darkened, and then Yusuf Zuck saw the green-robed cultivator sweep up all of the hundred-odd high-level cultivators above the Nascent Soul level into his sleeve, and they vanished without a trace!

"Universe in the Sleeve, heavens!" The eyeballs of the demons almost popped out, and Yusuf Zuck’s jaw nearly hit the ground. Damn, this guy was way too powerful!

"Hahaha, I wish to attain an immortal, carefree existence, yet the road is lonely with only my shadow for company. Immortality, oh immortality, why, oh why..." The voice gradually faded into the distance, and Yusuf Zuck watched as the man in green robes disappeared into thin air.

Meanwhile, three thousand miles away, the hundred or so powerful individuals beyond the Nascent Soul level dusted themselves off from the ground, all trembling with fright.
