Invisible Security Guard
Chapter 691 - 690: Little Swan Emily Wolfe

Chapter 691: Chapter 690: Little Swan Emily Wolfe

The Tianyuan Sect lost thirteen Gold Core Experts in one incident, and even the Sect Leader’s eldest son’s life or death remained uncertain. Therefore, whether it was the outer gate or the inner gate, all disciples were extremely cautious and trembling with fear, worried that making any mistake at this time might provoke the ire of the higher-ups.

The night Yusuf Zuck returned to the outer gate, he went alone to the palace outside the inner gate’s entrance, then became invisible to observe and look for opportunities.

However, throughout the entire night, people came and went from the inner gate palace, but he did not find an optimal moment to sneak in.

Yusuf Zuck had no choice but to return to his accommodation because being missing for an extended period would arouse suspicion.

"Big Soybean, where did you run off to all night? Hurry up, Master is calling us." As soon as Yusuf Zuck returned, Alvin Trujillo grabbed him and rushed towards Hector Cooke’s courtyard.

"What’s the matter, so early and so urgent?" Yusuf Zuck asked with confusion.

"I don’t know. Master only told us to gather at his place," Alvin Trujillo shook his head, and the two of them quickly entered Hector Cooke’s private courtyard.

When the two arrived at the courtyard, many people had already gathered; they were all disciples under Hector Cooke’s care and Yusuf Zuck’s martial brothers, who usually concentrated on their own training.

"Alvin Trujillo, is everyone here yet?" Hector Cooke yelled out loud.

"All here, all here, everyone is present, seventy-eight in total, not one missing!" Alvin Trujillo repeatedly nodded his head.

Previously, there were over ninety, but a trip to Chicken Mountain saw the departure of close to twenty people.

"All right, I have two announcements to make, one is good news and the other bad news," said Hector Cooke, taking a sip of tea before adding, "Let’s start with the bad news."

"The bad news is, as your Master, I can no longer stay with you. The Sect is reorganizing the inner and outer gates, and I am to begin training at the Tianyuan Hall. So, from now on, we’ll see less of each other!"

"What? Master is to train at the Tianyuan Hall? That’s good news! Congratulations, Master, well done Master!" Alvin Trujillo, standing at the forefront, immediately complimented.

"What good is that? I know my own capabilities. Even after joining the Tianyuan Hall, it’s not guaranteed I’ll stand out. I’m only worried about leaving you all behind!" Hector Cooke put on an act, showing a sad expression on his face.

The disciples all showed sad faces as well, but of course, most of them had gotten in through backdoor dealings; their expressions were feigned, while inwardly they were actually quite pleased.

"Hmm, seeing that you all have such affection for me, I’ll tell you the good news," Hector Cooke smacked his lips, knowing full well these disciples didn’t really have any attachment to him, only interest in benefits.

"The inner gate has ordered me to recommend some people for inner gate training, regardless of their cultivation level. After entering the inner gate, they will go through closed-door training, receiving daily instructions from different teachers. Hence, I have a few spots available here, um, a few spots, but just haven’t quite decided whom to recommend..."

"Huff—" Upon hearing Hector Cooke’s words, everyone’s eyes turned red; they realized they might now have a chance at entering the inner gate. Of course, they also understood his implied message.

"Alright, that’s all for the two matters. You can disperse now. I will still reside here for two more days. If you have any cultivation questions, feel free to come to me. I’ll instruct you with all my heart!" After finishing with the good and bad news, Hector Cooke dismissed everyone.

Yet his words carried an unspoken meaning; he had two more days. Whoever wanted to enter the inner gate should come find him.

Everyone bowed in unison and then turned to leave, some even starting to borrow money from one another.

Without a gold ticket, don’t even dream of being recommended by Hector Cooke.

Yusuf Zuck also left the courtyard, but after taking a turn outside, he circled back. Alvin Trujillo had not left; he stood outside the courtyard.

"You’re here, Big Soybean?" chuckled Alvin Trujillo.

"I have a cultivation predicament I want to ask the master about!" Yusuf Zuck said, cutting to the chase.

"Wait up, someone just went in, but tell me, how many gold tickets do you have? Let’s see if the master can take you in with us. I’m afraid it won’t do with too few this time!" Alvin Trujillo whispered.

"Is one million gold enough?" Yusuf Zuck countered.

"Hiss—" Alvin Trujillo sucked in a breath of cold air and then nodded vigorously, "Enough, enough, definitely enough! We’ll go in together later. The master has already agreed to take me into the inner sect!"

"Haha, that’s great." Yusuf Zuck laughed heartily.

While they were talking, a senior disciple came out smiling from ear to ear.

"Master, Bryson Campbell has a cultivation question for you!" Alvin Trujillo shouted from outside.

"Great, being eager to learn is a good thing. Come in, Campbell. It’s true, I’ve never given you any guidance before." Hector Cooke called out warmly, inviting Yusuf Zuck inside.

Yusuf Zuck went up to Hector Cooke and without another word, took out ten gold tickets and slapped them on the table, "I want to get into the inner sect!"

"Scram, kid, you’ve got guts. You’ll definitely secure a spot. Wait for the good news. Campbell, I have high hopes for you. You’re too sly by half!" Hector Cooke couldn’t close his mouth for smiling; damn, he was ready to make his departure, yet he’d managed to pocket so much more cash. He’d made a killing!

Yusuf Zuck entered quickly and exited just as fast; the whole process lasted less than a minute. By the time he emerged, another three to five people had gathered at the door, all seeking guidance.

Alvin Trujillo was responsible for guarding the door. After exchanging a knowing wink with Yusuf Zuck, Yusuf strode away.

Alvin Trujillo didn’t return until the next morning when the sky brightened. After entering the house and guzzling down a ladle of water, he cursed, "We’ve all been duped by that Hector Cooke!"

"What happened?" Yusuf Zuck was shocked. Surely, he wouldn’t be barred from entering the inner sect, would he? He was counting on getting in.

"The sect issued a decree that all disciples at the Higher Fetal Breathing Realm of the outer sect are to enter the inner sect for cultivation this afternoon. This is an official sect announcement, meaning, even without pulling any strings or offering money, we would have gotten in anyway. The Small Fetal Respiration or Foundation Establishment ones, though, are not allowed." Alvin Trujillo cursed. Hector Cooke was a bloodsucker, a real skinflint!

"As long as I can get in, I don’t care about the money!" Yusuf Zuck took a deep breath.

"Dammit, it just bugs me. He’s too wicked, too mean. From yesterday morning to this morning, all our disciples reported to him, that son of a gun must have raked in tens of millions of gold tickets. He’s hit the jackpot again!"

"Hey, senior brother, I need to ask you something," Yusuf Zuck suddenly said, looking at Alvin Trujillo with a mischievous grin. Although Alvin Trujillo was quite close to Hector Cooke, he wasn’t loyal and didn’t have much allegiance to the sect.

"What is it?" Alvin Trujillo picked up the ladle to continue drinking water – who knows what was with him, drinking his third ladle since he came back.

"Have you heard of Emily Wolfe?"

"Pfft—" Hearing Yusuf Zuck’s question, Alvin Trujillo spat out all the water.

"You actually think you can aspire to such lofty heights? Everyone knows who Emily Wolfe is. The Thousand Yin Exquisite Body, the number one beauty of the inner sect, fancied by our Sect Leader himself. Half a year ago, there were even rumors that the Sect Leader was thinking of remarrying, taking Emily Wolfe as his wife. But since the Sect Leader lost his son, there hasn’t been any more talk of that!"

"Why are you asking about her? That little swan is not for watching or for eating. Just looking is a sin, and it’s lethal!" Alvin Trujillo smacked his lips as if savoring and reminiscing, as if he had actually seen Emily Wolfe.
