Invisible Security Guard -
Chapter 609 - 608: Holiday
Chapter 609: Chapter 608: Holiday
Yusuf Zuck chartered the jet, and aside from family and friends, there were about a hundred or so people from Skeward Investment Company who had shown outstanding performance over the past year. The group included senior executives as well as ordinary staff, with a fairly even male-to-female ratio.
Everyone was wearing the uniform and caps distributed by Skeward Company, Yusuf included.
The plane’s first stop was Rio de Janeiro, and then they would take a yacht from Rio to the island.
In fact, Yusuf had secretly purchased that island; he bought it at a low price from a wealthy businessman he had once saved, a deal brokered by Maurice Singleton.
"Sister-in-law, now can you finally tell me where Fleur is? What’s he doing?" Fleur’s wife and daughter were also on the plane. Although Fleur had disappeared, his wife still retained her position as the chief financial officer of the company.
"He should be waiting for us in Rio, right?" Mila Vazquez said with a smile.
"Waiting for us?" Yusuf’s eyes lit up. "Those bastards haven’t contacted me for over a year. Do you know what they’ve been up to?"
"Ask Ariel Higgins, she knows," Mila Vazquez pointed and said.
"Out with it!" Yusuf glared at Ariel. She had been sneaky and secretive for the past year, never letting a word slip. She had really kept it well hidden!
"They’ve been up to just one thing," Ariel said with a laugh. "They’ve established the Skeward Security Company in Zhonghai. It’s legally registered, funded by their own investments, and after a year and a bit of development, it’s seen some success and taken on a lot of jobs!"
"Damn it!" Yusuf swore. Instead of being bodyguards, they went ahead and started their own company.
Ariel continued, "They’re not only the bosses but also part-time instructors. They’ve gone international, employing a variety of retired military personnel, mercenaries, and even poached the heads of professional security teams with generous offers. Additionally, they established the Skeward Special Protection Unit."
"Everyone in the Skeward Special Protection Unit is an elite, scouted from different places for their expertise in internal martial arts. After joining, they also familiarize themselves with firearms and other such implements."
"Oh, and Sophia is a special instructor for the Skeward Special Protection Unit, teaching a three-day course every three months. Rachel Fournier and I both also teach," Ariel added.
"Moreover, when Skeward Security Company was first established, due to a lack of funds, it took out a loan from Skeward Investment Company, which then became a shareholder. So, Skeward Security is part of Skeward Investment," Ariel explained.
"Is that so?" Yusuf turned to Marlon Shepherd.
Marlon Shepherd looked awkwardly towards Ruth Wilcox, who immediately bowed her head and started speaking with Miles O’Brien.
Miles O’Brien didn’t look up.
Yusuf lastly directed his gaze at Paisley Kirk, but even Paisley blinked back with bewildered eyes.
"Is it that only Paisley and I are in the dark here?" Yusuf said in frustration.
"Yeah, I haven’t heard about it either," Paisley said, just as confused.
"Alright, alright, it’s true that only you and Paisley didn’t know!" Ariel said with a wry smile. "We didn’t tell Paisley because telling her would be the same as telling you, right?"
Paisley’s face immediately turned red.
"As for not telling you, well, they truly wanted to do something for themselves, and they have been successful. Plus, they took on the security for our company’s team outing this time," Ariel added.
"Shit, what the hell. I wanted them to have their own careers and lives, not to be security guards for their whole lives!" Yusuf cursed out loud.
"They feel really good about it because this is their career and life. Now they’re not just protecting us. With a team of around 800 in their security company, they have many celebrities and businessmen amongst others recruiting talent, which means they are making money—the very achievement they’ve established in their careers!" Ariel explained further.
"And now, they’re the bosses, shareholders even, so they won’t just do simple guard work," Ariel added.
"Forget I said anything. Let’s just get there!" Yusuf said, exasperated.
Ruth Wilcox glared at Yusuf. "Alright, alright, we didn’t tell you because we were afraid you would stop them. They’re doing fine now, and this could also fulfill your desire. You’ve been thinking about them, right? And they’re all here this time."
"Fine, you guys continue. I’m going to spend some time with the old man in the back," Yusuf said, resigning himself from the conversation and stood up to head to the business class where the old man was.
Sara Zuck wasn’t in first class or business class, but in the economy section, talking to the staff, seemingly busy signing autographs.
"Dad, about the thing I mentioned before, how have you been considering it?" Yusuf Zuck whispered to Felix Zuck.
"No need, things are fine this way," Felix Zuck shook his head and said.
"Don’t say that, if I say it’s okay, then it truly is okay, Dad, you can’t be like this," Yusuf Zuck urged in a hushed tone.
Felix Zuck lowered his voice as well, "What’s this about can or can’t? I’m telling you, without that source of trouble it’s less worrisome. Otherwise, do you still want me to find you a stepmother, to give you a couple more brothers and sisters, is that what you want?"
"But... but..."
"Enough, what’s all this butting about? Remember one thing, there’s no such thing as perfection in this world, nor a perfect person. Did I not tell you when you were little? If a person is too perfect, they won’t live long."
"Sometimes you have to believe in karma, no matter the reason, if I’ve brought it upon myself, but if I try to compensate for this karma, then other karma will emerge."
"Let it be, I am fine. Don’t bring this up again in the future." Felix Zuck believed in fate, and if it was predestined for him to be this way, then going against nature would only bring divine punishment.
"Alright, alright, I won’t mention it anymore." Yusuf Zuck had already discussed it many times, but the old man simply wouldn’t agree. He said without that thing, there are no more desires; having it only multiplies greed. To live simply and true to oneself, that is living authentically.
Yusuf Zuck felt as though the old man had become an enlightened monk, and although he couldn’t understand it, he could feel that the old man truly didn’t care.
Some people live their entire lives chasing power, and nothing but power can attract them.
Others chase beauty their whole lives, putting everything second to it.
Some are after money, with beauty and power paling in importance. Only money matters most to them.
In fact, these people are all fanatics, obsessed fanatics!
"By the way, have you considered whom to marry, what are you going to do in the future?" The old man suddenly nodded stealthily forward.
"Haven’t thought about it yet, I’ll wait another couple of years," Yusuf Zuck replied.
"Senegal allows polygamy, you could immigrate there," his father whispered.
"Dad, I want to spit in your face!" Yusuf Zuck rolled his eyes in frustration, "It’s not a matter of policy or law, it’s a problem between me and them. Let’s not talk about it, it’s getting complicated, gives me a headache."
"There’s another thing, do you know about your sister and Dream Morrow?" Felix Zuck asked again.
"I had a hunch, what about it?" Yusuf Zuck responded in kind.
"Is that kid Dream good enough for my daughter?" Felix Zuck expressed his discontent.
"Crap, wasn’t your daughter a nobody before too? What’s the big deal with being a celebrity, what’s wrong with my brother? My brother is a shareholder in my company’s foundation, my brother would die for Sara, find someone worthy of Sara, and ask him if he dares to die for her?"
"You agree?" Felix Zuck asked in surprise.
"Agree, why wouldn’t I?" Yusuf Zuck glared back.
"I thought you were eyeing Sara!" Felix Zuck cursed.
"Curse your damn old head, would it kill you not to talk nonsense?" Yusuf Zuck almost wanted to strangle Felix Zuck. The reason Yusuf Zuck protected Sara was because they had gone through the most difficult times in life together, and because a very young Sara had taken care of their mother during her last years. His sister was his life, a love that transcended familial bonds and blood ties but was never romantic love.
All along he really, really only saw Sara as a sister. As they grew up, he even subconsciously distanced himself from her, a sister is to be cared for and protected for life, that’s all.
As for taking his sister as his woman? Forget about it, Yusuf Zuck is still a human being, not a beast!
