Chapter 555 - 554: Whiter than Snow

Chapter 555: Chapter 554: Whiter than Snow

Sophia’s Fairy scattering flowers was a type of powder made from corpses, not only poisonous but also a supplement favored by corpse fleas.

As the name suggests, corpse fleas are fleas that live on corpses, particularly those that can’t be exposed to light, often surviving in ancient cadavers for centuries. Just like regular fleas, they can jump and suck blood.

Of course, they also carry a potent poison, which has two effects: one can paralyze the central nervous system and cause muscle necrosis, while the other can corrode the body.

Sophia first released Fairy scattering flowers and then released all the corpse fleas, so everyone in the hall contaminated by the powder was bitten by the corpse fleas.

It wouldn’t be fatal immediately, and as for harming the innocent, she couldn’t manage to care much about that.

"Let’s go." Seeing the bat that made her own heart palpitate collapse stiffly to the ground, she grabbed Yusuf Zuck and ran out.

The sound of "biu~biu~" went off just as she charged out of the hotel’s front door with Yusuf Zuck. Several flashes of gunfire burst from a distant building, and then several whistling bullets tore through the air, heading straight for Sara Zuck’s head and heart with the speed of lightning.

Sophia’s eyelids twitched uncontrollably, and upon hearing the whistling sound in the night sky, she knew there was a sniper, and the target was herself.

"Get down..." In just a split second, Sophia screamed and pushed Sara down, trying to flatten herself to the ground.

"Pop~" She dodged the bullet aimed at her head, but the one aimed at her heart hit her, even as she bent over. The bullet entered her back and began boring into her lung, spinning as it did.

"Pop~" Sophia spat out a mouthful of blood and then couldn’t move; she felt as if the world was spinning.

The five teams stationed outside the hotel converged like an army of ants, with Grey Petty and Ross’s mother arriving first, followed by other Grandmasters, gunmen, assassins, and so on. In an instant, dozens of people had enclosed Yusuf Zuck and Sophia at the center!

"One o’clock direction, rooftop terrace, two snipers, GOGO!" Different members of the fifth team sprinted towards the opposing building, while everyone also shielded Sara Zuck, clustering around her as a human Shield to get her into the escort vehicle.

Grey Petty carried Sophia, shouting to head straight to the hospital.

Others might not realize Sophia’s importance, but he did; Yusuf Zuck treated her like a sister. In this team, Sophia as well as Rachel Fournier, their status was exceptional.

Although she wasn’t Yusuf Zuck’s woman, she too was a confidante.

"To the hospital... Sophia..." Sara was also shouting. Sophia’s nose and mouth were full of bloody foam; she had already lost consciousness, her back covered in blood that kept bubbling relentlessly.

However, just as the vehicles started up, several container trucks rammed their way over, and, unbelievably, there were people standing on the containers.

"Experts!"

"Attack!" Two Truth-Insight experts dispatched by the Petty Family charged out, as did another from the Tuffs Family.

The container trucks blocked the road completely, and then hordes of gunmen poured out, triggering the most brutal gunfight in the middle of the street.

Grey Petty, holding Sophia, was sweating in desperation, knowing she would die if she wasn’t treated soon.

"Ah, Ross’s mother, please, take Sophia to the hospital, I beg you..." Said Grey Petty through gritted teeth, fists clenched. He couldn’t leave; if they wanted to capture Sara, they’d have to step over his dead body first.

"Okay, leave it to me." Ross’s mother understood the urgency, took Sophia, rolled out of the car, and jumped in the opposite direction.

No one paid attention to Ross’s mother because everyone’s target was Sara.

Elsewhere, Mia was hopping anxiously because many enemies had arrived, including gunmen and martial experts, and the melee had begun.

"Uncle Wu, go quickly, help them!" Mia urged the Truth-Seeking Expert behind the motorhome.

"No, my duty is to protect your safety. I can’t take care of anyone else!"

"You..." Mia was nearly fuming with rage and suddenly bit her lip, then actually drew a gun – she had been hiding a weapon on her!

"If you won’t go, I will." And with that, she tried to jump out of the car.

"No way." Two Mongolian men and Uncle Wu immediately tried to stop her, with Uncle Wu’s hand moving faster, snatching the gun from Mia’s hand like a spirit snake.

"You... you... I’m begging you to protect Sara." Mia burst into tears, wishing she could kneel before Uncle Wu.

"Miss, don’t worry, haven’t you noticed that the current battle situation isn’t too dangerous? The enemy doesn’t have as many people as we do, doesn’t have the equipment we have, and their two experts are currently being besieged by our three experts. Sara is safe for the time being."

"If anything happens to Sara, I won’t want to live either," Mia cried out in frustration.

"Rest assured, there shouldn’t be a problem, but why hasn’t Antoine Cunningham shown up yet? Could something have happened inside too?" Uncle Wu frowned. While talking, his eyelid suddenly twitched, and then with a start, he exclaimed, "No good, another expert has arrived!"

With a "whoosh," a man in a black robe suddenly leaped forward, swiftly maneuvering through the storm of bullets and rapidly approaching the minivan where Sara was.

This man’s movement technique was extremely mysterious; it seemed as if he could dodge the bullets fired at him. In barely a breath’s time, he had reached the front of the minivan, and as his arms swung in succession, a series of chilling hidden weapons flew from his hands, striking down all the security personnel around the vehicle.

"Bang!" After dealing with the security around the car, the man slammed his palm on the minivan’s door, violently smashing it apart. Then he reached into the minivan to grab something.

Just as the situation became critical, a long, mournful flute melody suddenly echoed through the night sky.

"Hum, hum, hum—" A person, seemingly flying down from a skyscraper, dressed in white and holding a Jade Flute, played the flute while descending. With the melodious tune playing, everyone on the battlefield, including several Truth-Seeking Experts and the black-robed man who smashed the door, ceased their actions and stood still.

As for the ordinary security guards and gunmen, they collapsed to the ground, foaming at the mouth.

"Miss, cover your ears, protect yourself," Uncle Wu finally made his move. He shouted loudly as he jumped out of the car, and with a light tap of his foot, he drew his sword and charged towards the minivan.

The man in black was an expert, and so was the man in white. With two powerful figures appearing at once, Uncle Wu had to act.

"She... is mine," declared the man in white, standing on the van’s roof and pointing at the minivan as Uncle Wu rushed over.

"We share the same target? Are you another trump card sent by the young master? Then I’ll leave her to you," the man in black glanced into the van, as everyone inside was dazed from the flute’s Penetrating Power.

"No, no, no, I’m not on your side, so you... stay away!" the man in white said coldly.

"Seeking death!" The black-robed man became infuriated upon hearing the man in white, and with a shake of his arms, his Twin Blades were drawn.

"How can the dim light of a firefly compete with the bright moon?" As the man in white finished speaking, he flicked his finger, and the Jade Flute suddenly flew from his hand.

"Bang—" Like a fired bullet, faster than lightning, the black-robed man hadn’t even fully drawn his blades when the flute struck him in the chest. He then vomited a mouthful of fresh blood and, like a deflated sack, was hurled backward.

"The dim light of a firefly." The man in white scoffed disdainfully and then landed next to the car.

At this moment, the scene was indescribably eerie, as everyone was left dazed by the sound of his flute, unable to control their own bodies.

Grey Petty was confounded too, and even Sara had fainted away.

This technique used sound to kill, an unparalleled secret art.

Though Grey Petty was bewildered, his Spiritual Wisdom was still clear. He tried to stand up and catch the young man in white when he saw him coming, but despite several attempts, he grabbed only air, his vision blurring with double images.

"Heh heh, I mean no harm. Don’t move, just sleep peacefully." The man in white struck Grey Petty on the back of the neck with his flute, and then Grey Petty collapsed motionless to the ground.

"Mega-star, sorry about this, your acting isn’t bad, still a bit unripe though..." The man in white actually commented on the unconscious Sara before picking her up, and with a few jumps, he disappeared without a trace.

"What’s happening? Inside job?" Uncle Wu, who was rushing towards the scene, was baffled. The man in white fought the man in black and the latter was defeated in one move? What was going on?
