Chapter 553: Chapter 552: Blood Race Attacks

Meanwhile, in Hong Kong.

After a whole day of filming, Sara Zuck had planned to go home for dinner, but she had to attend a charity gala organized by her company.

If it had been just a dance or a birthday party, she could have skipped it, but a charity gala was mandatory. It was a matter of philanthropy, and if she snubbed the event, who knows how the media might spin it.

So, in the nanny van, after changing into a long dress and applying light makeup, her entourage set off for the Bauhinia Hotel. Today’s event was attended by many, including high-ranking officials from Hong Kong Island, socialites, movie stars, and so on, numbering in the hundreds.

For such a large-scale gala, security was of utmost importance. Everyone entering the venue had to pass through metal detectors, and items like lighters or keychains had to be left behind.

Since there was only one invitation, attendees could only bring one companion into the venue, and no one else was allowed in.

Grey Petty, Dream Morrow, and Ross’s mother stayed outside. Grey Petty waited in the car, Dream Morrow stood near the security checkpoint, and Ross’s mother sat in the lobby.

Sophia accompanied Sara into the venue.

Of course, besides Dream Morrow and others, there were actually at least several dozen members of a team scattered around the area in secret.

The Petty Family had two teams, and Mia had arranged for three more, making a total of five teams; nearly fifty members of a security team were secretly protecting Sara.

These were dangerous times, so no one dared to be careless; there had to be people left in the cars at all times in case someone tried to tamper with them.

"Mia, do you really think it’s necessary to follow us around?" On a street corner near the hotel, a Mercedes-Benz van was parked. Mia was inside the van, and she was talking to none other than Antoine Cunningham, who had rushed over from Mongolia.

After Mia had told her father, Marco Tuff, that she was carrying Yusuf Zuck’s child, claiming herself to be Yusuf’s woman, Marco took it very seriously. He summoned some friends from the underworld—not for anything else but to protect Mia and to follow her orders.

Marco Tuff had only this daughter, no other children in his life, so whatever Mia said went, and whatever she wanted, she got.

Antoine Cunningham flew to Hong Kong the very next day, bringing along two Mongolian strongmen with him.

"I just don’t feel at ease, Uncle Antoine. There will definitely be people targeting Sara, and Sara is Yusuf’s life. If something happens to her in Hong Kong, how can I face him?" Mia felt obligated, although she had no direct connection, she considered herself a native of Hong Kong and believed it was her duty to protect Sara. If something went wrong, she truly didn’t know how she would explain it to Yusuf.

"Keep your worries to yourself. Beside us, there are three Truth-Insight Experts, and in secret, there are two more we don’t know, all protecting us. Plus, we have three on our side, making eight Truth-Seeking Experts in total. That’s not even including the assassins, gunmen, and professional bodyguard teams. So even the Hong Kong government or military would find it nearly impossible to capture Sara now!" Antoine said confidently.

"Yusuf seemed very anxious before. It’s the first time I’ve seen him that nervous, so this time must be different. Tell your people to stay sharp," Mia reminded him.

"Alright, don’t worry," Antoine replied with a bitter smile. What a situation—he, a powerful figure from Mongolia, was on Hong Kong Island protecting a little starlet. If word of this got back to his hometown, he would be a laughingstock.

"No, no, it’s not enough for only one person to follow her into the gala. Uncle Antoine, you must find a way to get in!" Mia suddenly remembered that only Sophia was with Sara, which could be very dangerous!

"The Chief Executive will be there, how could there possibly be any danger?" Antoine shook his head.

"Still, it’s not okay. You must go, Uncle Antoine, please..." Mia implored, shaking Antoine’s arm coquettishly.

"Fine, fine, I’ll go in, alright? Are you happy now?" Antoine said resignedly, then his gaze suddenly turned cold. He spoke to the two Mongolian men beside him in Mongolian, "Protect Miss Tuff’s safety with your lives!"

"Yes," the two Mongolian men nodded immediately.

"And you," Antoine turned to look at a Truth-Insight Expert sitting behind them, one sent by Marco Tuff, a middle-aged sorcerer.

"Mia is in your hands."

"Antoine Cunningham, don’t think that without you we can’t protect the lady, just go do whatever it is you need to do," the person said with a sneer.

"Haha, then this old man shall take his leave!" Antoine Cunningham let out a laugh, pulled open the car door and jumped out.

He was dressed in a Mongolian robe and cloth shoes, with two walnuts in his palm and a string of prayer beads on his wrist. Around his neck hung a wolf tooth pendant, and as he walked, he exuded an imposing aura.

He didn’t enter through the main entrance but circled behind the hotel, and after using the rebound force of the walls, he vanished after several ascents and descents.

It was only after Antoine Cunningham had completely disappeared from sight that Mia felt slightly more at ease. Somehow, she had been uneasy all day, feeling like something was about to happen. She tried calling Yusuf Zuck, but his phone was turned off.

She knew that Yusuf Zuck wouldn’t have his phone on while working on a job; only after he was done would he turn it back on.

This afternoon, Dream Morrow received a call from Yusuf Zuck, inquiring if everything was okay on their end.

About six or seven minutes later, Antoine Cunningham surreptitiously appeared at the gala. At this point, everyone was standing and holding their glasses, mingling and chatting with each other.

Antoine Cunningham also casually picked up a glass of wine and slowly meandered through the crowd, observing anyone suspicious.

Of course, he had already pinpointed Sara Zuck and the young girl with Yusuf Zuck.

The young girl was probably no more than twenty, yet she was already a Truth-Seeking Expert. He truly had no idea where Yusuf Zuck had found three Truth-Seeking Experts to protect his own sister.

Sophia naturally noticed Antoine Cunningham, but she had already discussed the details at Sara Zuck’s villa beforehand—she knew about any hidden figures and how many there were, as it was necessary for the five covert teams protecting them to communicate. Otherwise, they might end up fighting amongst themselves if conflicts arose.

Antoine Cunningham raised his glass towards Sophia as a gesture, to which Sophia responded with a smile.

To tell the truth, if she made a move, she could kill everyone here without anyone noticing.

She’s an expert in poisons, the Poison Mother!

The charity event went smoothly, with some officials and businessmen finishing their speeches on stage before moving on to the charity auction, which sold many items.

More than two hours later, as the charity gala came to an end, no suspicious individuals or events had occurred.

People began to leave one after another. Sara Zuck also stood up, laughing and chatting with Sophia as they walked towards the exit, with Antoine Cunningham following not far behind.

However, just as Sophia and Sara Zuck had passed the security gate, the lights in the hotel suddenly flickered twice, then plunged into darkness.

This isn’t good!

Antoine Cunningham was shocked; could someone actually dare to make a move in such a setting?

He quickly rushed through the security gate, moving towards where Sara Zuck was.

This was Sophia’s first time experiencing such an incident, so she was very nervous. She also held Sara’s wrist tightly, refusing to let go, because as long as she was there, she wouldn’t let Sara come to any harm.

"Keke—" In the darkness, a strange cry and a bizarre laugh suddenly echoed, followed by a foul wind rushing towards them. Sophia saw someone, a creature floating mid-air in the corridor, gliding towards her!

"A foreigner? Blood Races!" Antoine Cunningham did have some knowledge, but even he was taken aback to see a member of the Blood Races here.

"Protect Sara, retreat..." Antoine Cunningham didn’t charge forward because he knew he needed to defend and ensure Sara’s safety first and foremost.
