Yusuf Zuck had never really considered the matter of having children, and even marriage was not something he planned to rush into. After all, he was only twenty-two years old. Of course, he was a bit anxious about his appearance, as he really didn’t look like a young man.

Louise Garrett wanted a child, her voice was really soft and nervous when she talked about it, for she feared Yusuf would not agree.

Seeing Louise’s anxious expression, Yusuf’s heart softened, and he held her hand and said, "Let’s try tonight."

Having children isn’t something that happens just because you want it to; it requires the right timing, conditions, and harmony. However, trying tonight wouldn’t hurt, and if conception happened, it happened; if not, they could always talk about it later.

At first, Yusuf and Louise didn’t take any precautions, but eventually, they started to use protection.

"I’ll go home and wait for you," Louise immediately cheered up after Yusuf didn’t hesitate and agreed to her request.

"Go on, then. Get rid of the electronic firecrackers at home," Yusuf joked with a smile.

"Got it," Louise packed up with a happy grin and went home.

Yusuf left with her but he headed to the New Century instead. As he would be departing the next day, he wanted to make an appearance; it wouldn’t do for him not to show up.

Paisley Kirk’s promotion had been very rapid. She started as a supervisor, then became the assistant lobby manager, later the lobby manager, and now she was the assistant to the general manager.

She had risen to the upper echelons of hotel management.

When Yusuf arrived upstairs, Paisley just happened to be walking out of her office with a stack of documents in her hands. She had her own office now, and it seemed quite spacious.

"Ah... you..." As soon as she saw Yusuf, Paisley began to speak but was quickly pulled back into the room as Yusuf grasped her arm.

With a "snap," the door closed, and Paisley’s face turned beet red because she was so close to Yusuf, who still held onto her hand.

"How have you been these past few days?" Yusuf gently scraped Paisley’s nose with his finger and asked.

"Big Brother Yusuf..." Paisley, mustering up some courage from somewhere, suddenly embraced Yusuf and snuggled against him.

"It’s been another year, right?" Yusuf hugged her back and asked with a smile.

"Yes, nineteen now," Paisley replied, lifting her head to look at Yusuf’s face. "Big Brother Yusuf, I... I... I like you."

"I know," Yusuf touched her face gently with his hand. "I’ve known for a long time."

"I can’t control myself," Paisley said, her eyes misting over.

With a "whoosh," as soon as her words fell, she was met with Yusuf’s forceful kiss, which she, after a moment of shock, passionately reciprocated.

Yusuf’s hand began to wander to places it shouldn’t, and she was left blushing fiercely under his touch.

"Alright," Yusuf released her after a moment. "You stay here, learn some management skills from Ruth, and in one or two years, I’ll put you in charge of your own venue. You’ll manage a hotel in Fengdu or Tianjin, not under Ms. Wilcox!"

"Okay, I’ll listen to Big Brother Yusuf..." her voice was as timid as a mosquito’s, but she nodded continuously.

"By the way, what were you going to do?" Yusuf noticed she still had a stack of documents in her hand.

"Ah, I was going to get Ms. Wilcox to sign these, and I forgot..." Paisley said, looking panicked.

"Give them to me; I’ll take them for you. You stay in the office and cool down a bit, your face is too red right now," Yusuf pinched her cheek playfully.

"Is it red? How embarrassing..." Paisley was thrilled. She had always been the one with a secret crush, although sometimes they shared unspoken feelings and exchanged glances, they never addressed it, let alone kissed. But now, in her office, she and Yusuf had kissed. It was their first kiss, and she felt as if she could fly.

"Yeah, I have to go to Hong Kong tomorrow, I just came to see you. Give me the documents, I’ll look them over and then head straight out without coming back."

"Mm-hmm," Paisley Kirk nodded repeatedly.

Taking the documents, Yusuf Zuck turned and walked out, while Paisley leaned against the door, patting her chest non-stop. She wanted to laugh, but dared not, her face full of sweetness nonetheless.

Ruth Wilcox’s office had changed—it had officially become Herman Holloway’s former one, complete with a secretary’s desk out front. Astonishingly, the woman sitting inside at the secretary’s desk belonged to the Grand Master Realm.

This woman looked to be in her thirties, around thirty-five or thirty-six, dressed in work attire.

"Director Zuck, Ms. Wilcox is in her office," the woman said as she stood up and nodded to Yusuf Zuck when she saw him approach.

She was someone Ariel Higgins had arranged for. After the Spring Festival, when Yusuf Zuck brought Ruth back from Los Angeles, he had asked Ariel to arrange for someone to protect her.

"What is your name?" Yusuf Zuck asked her.

"Grey Reeves."

"Mm, thank you for looking after Ms. Wilcox," Yusuf Zuck said to Grey Reeves, clasping a fist in gratitude.

"No need for thanks, Chairman, it’s what I should do," Grey Reeves replied with a rare smile.

Then Yusuf Zuck knocked on the door and, after receiving a response from inside, entered Ruth Wilcox’s office.

"Yusuf Zuck? You’ve come at just the right time, there’s been an incident," Ruth Wilcox said immediately upon seeing Yusuf, standing up with a worried expression.

"What happened?" Yusuf Zuck frowned.

"Didn’t my grandparents come over a few days ago?" Ruth Wilcox asked, looking at Yusuf Zuck.

"Yes, I seem to recall you mentioning it briefly. What about it? Wasn’t the negotiation about a full acquisition? Where are they now?" Yusuf Zuck replied, puzzled.

"They’re staying at the Capital Hotel, and there are people from the Ross Family in their team. The negotiations started yesterday, and they served a legal notice, accusing us of a hostile takeover. Moreover, the Ross Family has fully stepped in!"

"The Ross Family has stepped in?" Yusuf Zuck raised an eyebrow, "They’re helping your grandfather?"

"It seems they’re targeting either me or you. They found out you were the one backing the acquisition of the Wilcox Family’s assets, which is why they’ve made their move. They didn’t know it was you before!"

"The young Ross hasn’t shown up, has he?" Yusuf Zuck sat down.

"I haven’t seen him, not sure if he’s come or not."

"So what exactly do they mean? Be straightforward, I don’t understand the commercial operations," Yusuf Zuck pressed.

"They’ve hired local attorneys. They’re suing us on the basis of a hostile takeover and disturbing the financial market. In other words, they’ve filed a lawsuit against us in the United States, and we must go there to respond. If we lose the case, we could be penalized, and we’d have to return the shares of the Wilcox Family."

"Additionally, with the Ross Family involved, our chances of winning are slim, and it’s an international legal dispute."

"So, have we done anything illegal?" Yusuf Zuck continued to inquire.

"Everything was legal in terms of procedures, and it can’t be considered a hostile takeover. The agreement was signed simply for business financing."

"I see," Yusuf Zuck laughed, "They must’ve bribed the local judges in the United States, right? We’re bound to lose a lawsuit there, right? Regardless of whether it’s a hostile takeover, the Ross Family just wants us to take a silent beating, and even if we’re right, there’s nowhere to go to argue our case?"

"Yes, if that’s the case, your grandfather came, and many other members of the clan arrived too, so they must have put forth some conditions to you, right? If you accept their conditions, they’ll drop the lawsuit, correct?" Yusuf Zuck was sharp; he was no fool. The involvement of the Ross Family indicated a very clear purpose.

"You’re becoming too astute," Ruth Wilcox looked at Yusuf Zuck and said lightly, "They said if I go back and marry Ross, they’ll drop the lawsuit. The shares Tianyi acquired from the Wilcox Family, they won’t pursue. Of course, they still want to talk to you, since you’re Tianyi’s major shareholder."

"Can the Wilcox Family’s shares be offloaded now? I mean, can we transfer our shares?" Yusuf Zuck suddenly asked.
