Chapter 516: Chapter 515: Three Patients

Aniyah Meskill was a complete tomboy, and Yusuf Zuck thought that if he scared her a bit, she’d be bawling with snot running down her nose, but he never expected that this girl wouldn’t back down.

Yusuf Zuck’s mood had been pretty bad before, so he had been crashing his two-million-plus car everywhere. And after playing with roller coasters and bumper cars, his gloomy mood swept away.

Besides, he had no intention of womanizing anymore.

He was tired, there were several peaches by his side that he hadn’t picked, how could he possibly pick this strange one?

After eating the late-night snack, Yusuf Zuck drove Aniyah Meskill home. She didn’t return to school because she was about to graduate, but she also told Yusuf Zuck that her school was the Political Science Institute.

Damn, this girl might become an official right after graduating from college.

Before getting out of the car, she took the initiative to ask for Yusuf Zuck’s number and even joked that his character was passable, advising him that there were plenty of fish in the sea, so why pine for one flower or something like that.

In short, she treated Yusuf Zuck as a lovelorn man trapped by love.

Yusuf Zuck smiled and waved goodbye to her, without warning or preaching about how dangerous her actions were last night. They were all adults, and besides, this lass clearly had her own ideas, so anything else he said would be nonsense.

He had never thought there would be any further contact, so after waving, he sped off.

As Yusuf Zuck was driving his smoky, broken-down BMW out of West Mountain, he received a call from Devin King, and seeing Devin’s number, Yusuf Zuck chuckled and shook his head. It was only five in the morning; surely curing illnesses didn’t start this early?

"Where are you, Yusuf Zuck? I’ll come pick you up. All three patients are together now." Devin King sounded very urgent. He had received orders, a mission, so he dared not be the slightest bit negligent.

"I just left West Mountain and am heading towards downtown. But I can only heal one person a day. You’ve brought all three together; I can’t heal them all."

"We’ll talk about that later, but you’re near West Mountain? Damn, the healing place is near West Mountain. Where exactly are you?" Devin King immediately asked.

"Just came out from West Mountain Military Camp. I can’t be too specific."

"Alright, just wait for me on the road then," Devin King hung up briskly.

After thinking for a moment, Yusuf Zuck turned the BMW around and pulled over to the side.

In the peak of summer August, daylight came extremely early, with sunrise occurring shortly before four in the morning, so by five it was already broad daylight.

Yusuf Zuck got out of the car, and there were hawthorn trees by the roadside, so he went in and picked two wild hawthorns, which were especially astringent and very sour.

Around five-thirty, a military vehicle stopped behind Yusuf Zuck’s car, and Devin King jumped out, then started circling Yusuf Zuck’s car.

"Isn’t this the car you bought new yesterday? Got attacked again?" Devin King asked, eyes wide.

"Played bumper cars. Hurry up; I’ve got things to do today." Yusuf Zuck got into the car, and upon starting it, black smoke poured out of the exhaust pipe. It was damaged from the crash, and even the exhaust had turned black.

"Get in my car; they won’t let this wreck in," Devin King gestured.

"No need, I feel like my car’s just fine. It’s a new car!" Yusuf Zuck stubbornly argued.

"You know it’s new and you still played bumper cars?" Devin King said incredulously, "Fine, just follow behind my car."

The windshield of Yusuf Zuck’s BMW was gone, and the entire car looked no different from scrap, a truly pitiable sight.

Devin King led the way in front, and a little later, they arrived at the same place where Aniyah Meskill had gotten out of the car. It was a large compound with a sentry post.

Devin King spoke with the sentry about something, then the two cars entered one after the other.

After taking several turns and passing two more sentry posts, they reached a very old two-story building.

The two-story building could no longer be called a villa. Perhaps it could have been in the sixties or seventies, but now it was simply a two-story building because its exterior was still clad in that kind of sandstone and even small saplings were growing on the roof.

However, the yard was large and there were plenty of people. When Yusuf Zuck parked the car, he was immediately struck by the presence of guards armed with live nuclear warheads outside, and many more inside wearing black suits and leather shoes, with earpieces for wireless communication.

Moreover, there were various groups of men and women, young and old, in the yard. There were several old ladies, as well as quite a few old men, some middle-aged couples, and even a large number of young people!

Yusuf Zuck hastily got out of the car because through telekinesis he had seen quite a few people who had been extremely high-profile in the past, just not seen in recent years.

But now, he saw them again here.

At that moment, a burst of laughter came from the yard, as if some people were pointing and commenting on his car.

Yusuf Zuck glanced at the crowd and immediately locked eyes with Aniyah Meskill, who instantly glared back at him. She was assisting an old lady; she was there too!

Devin King walked up to Yusuf Zuck and whispered, "You can play it cool or snub me all you want, but be polite here, it won’t do you any harm."

"Got it," Yusuf Zuck nodded.

"Let’s go," Devin King also straightened his clothes and led Yusuf Zuck briskly into the yard.

The sentries didn’t question or frisk them. Did people brought by Devin King even need to be searched?

"Everyone is here, eh? Elders, are you in good health..." Devin King greeted the old ladies cheerfully, calling them ’elders’ as well.

"We’re fine, we’re fine. Little King, is this the guy?" one of the old ladies said with a smile.

"Yes, this is him, Yusuf Zuck," Devin King nodded and replied.

"Why is he driving such a shabby car? Wasn’t it said that he made a lot of money?" a middle-aged woman suddenly asked.

"Who knows? This car is new, bought just yesterday, and look at it now," Devin King responded, clearly irritated.

"Group Leader King, please come in," at that moment, a middle-aged man with glasses came out of the building and nodded at both Devin King and Yusuf Zuck.

Yusuf Zuck hadn’t said a word since the beginning, nor had he greeted anyone; he just stole a couple of glances at Aniyah Meskill.

Aniyah Meskill’s family seemed very far from simple.

The middle-aged man led Devin King and Yusuf Zuck into the building, and it was only then that Aniyah Meskill asked, "Granny, who is that Yusuf Zuck? Is he the doctor?"

The reason they had all gathered there today was that three elderly members were receiving treatment, which is why some of their immediate family members had come over. The inside of the building was too small, and the yard had better air, so they were chatting casually out there.

Three families, spanning several generations, were all there.

"What are you asking, child? Don’t ask questions out of turn," her grandmother scolded Aniyah Meskill with a glare. In clans like theirs, there were many rules to adhere to. Some matters could be inquired about, but some were strictly off-limits.

The yard grew quiet as the three families listened intently to the noises coming from inside the building. They were all very anxious because to them, the three patients were their greatest treasures. As long as they were alive, the clan would thrive, but if they were gone, the clan would quickly fade away.

Inside the building, Yusuf Zuck saw the three patients, all in their nineties and all seated in wheelchairs. And he had seen all three of them before, on television.

As he looked at the three patients, they were also looking at him.
