Chapter 510: Chapter 509: Furniture Salesman

After listening to Fleur’s words, Yusuf Zuck couldn’t help but shake his head with a wry smile. Now that Ruth had joined the group, it would be like a tiger patrolling the mountains and no one would dare to chat recklessly anymore.

However, Mia and Ariel were also in the group, which surprised him. And the fact that Ruth knew about some nurse and even more of his secrets, it was probably Mia and Ariel, the two informants, who had told her about them.

Yusuf didn’t dabble for long and didn’t join the group chat. He immediately returned his phone to Fleur.

That afternoon, Yusuf ordered four cars in one go at the car sales center in the South Third Ring, one of which was his own—a BMW 7 series. Instead of an SUV or off-road vehicle, he chose a standard sedan. All in all, the purchase didn’t add up to two million.

Fleur had asked him why he chose this car at the time. After all, BMWs and Mercedes were what nouveau riche drove, while those with real taste and success drove limited-edition Bentleys or Rolls-Royces worth seven or eight million or even tens of millions to show their status.

But his car, costing less than two million, was neither high- nor low-end—not the best but not the worst either.

"Drive a BMW, ride in a Mercedes. Just having one to drive is enough; I’m not picky." That was Yusuf’s explanation, and surprisingly, it was not ostentatious.

As for the other three cars, two were Audi A6’s, one for Miles, the other for Fleur’s wife. The Volvo S60 was for Paisley.

He had not bought a car for Ruth because she wasn’t very interested in cars, and their family already had two.

Apart from his car, which was in stock, deposits had been paid for the other three, with a specified date to pick them up.

It wasn’t until five in the afternoon that Yusuf returned to New Century, where Ozzy had already been drinking tea for quite some time and had gone to the restroom five times.

Yusuf introduced Fleur to Ozzy, and after they shook hands, they sat down together.

"You can’t do this to me. You made me come here and then you vanished. What’s this about? If you didn’t want to see me, you should have said something earlier, damn it." Ozzy couldn’t help but curse.

"Didn’t I just forget?" Yusuf retorted with a stiff neck.

"I’ll spit in your face. Hurry up and lend me some money to fill this gap. And once it’s filled, I’m outta here. I can’t play this game in the capital; can’t I get the hell out?" Driving a BMW 5 Series back home made Ozzy quite the big shot, but in the capital, he was instantly just an ordinary guy.

"Look at this," Yusuf said to Fleur. "He’s got the nerve to ask me for money." He then mockingly scolded Ozzy, "Get the hell out? I’ve brought you some business, and from now on, I’m your furniture salesman."

"What business?" The mention of potential business immediately sparked interest in Ozzy’s eyes.

"There’s a company changing office buildings. They’ll need all new desks, chairs, you name it, and they’ll buy from you. That’s one. And you’ve seen New Century, right? They’ve got a branch opening in Tianjin in October. They’ll need plenty of beds, chairs, tables, the works. How’s that for pulling my weight?"

"Ha, so I’m not getting out of here?" Ozzy laughed heartily. The main problem with opening a shop in the capital had been sales channels. Although their furniture brand was small, the locals in the capital didn’t recognize it, so the business was struggling. Renting a big shop space and selling just one two-thousand-yuan bed a day was hardly surprising.

Business often depended on support, so having large orders would certainly be better.

Yusuf had managed to bring in two deals that would instantly rejuvenate Ozzy’s shop.

"Under the current circumstances, I can make at least three five-star hotels partner up with you. From now on, all the furniture in these hotels will be ordered from your place."

"Also, relying on just these three won’t grow your business much, so tonight I’ll call some people to help strategize. If you can establish a connection with government departments, you won’t have to worry about selling furniture in the future, right?"

"You bet. Whoever you bring tonight, I’ll take care of them," Ozzy boasted, slapping his chest.

"How much of a shortfall is there left?" It was only now that Yusuf brought up the issue of money.

"Nothing now. I was just joking with you. I’m getting ready to pay you back what I owe. I didn’t lose that much, and neither did my dad. Besides, with all the business you’re bringing me, I don’t have any gaps left. They’re practically filled already."

"Okay, good. As long as you’re on your feet. Business will get smoother." Yusuf didn’t offer additional help to Ozzy; if he just handed over several billions, it would be meaningless, as he wanted to build an equitable relationship with Ozzy. They would always be childhood friends, and he didn’t want any negative friction between them.

...

By around 6 pm, Marlon Shepherd arrived at the hotel with a few people, preceding the rest. Marlon had developed a certain air of authority by now, at least in terms of his presence as a leader.

"Marlon, this is Ozzy Parham, just call him Old Ozzy. He and I grew up as tight as can be, naked butt to naked butt, fighting with bayonets. His company has everything: doors, windows, furniture, bookcases, safes, and he’s opened a branch in the capital. So, you talk to him about what you need and get it ordered as soon as possible."

"So, you’ve become a furniture salesman yourself now, huh? Also, those bayonets of yours didn’t get ruined, did they?" Marlon laughed out loud. Naked butt to naked butt with bayonets? What kind of bayonets could those be? Meat bayonets!

"I have no choice. If I don’t help him sell furniture, the guy would tear me a new one," Yusuf Zuck said with a wry smile.

Old Ozzy and Marlon exchanged business cards and then indeed sat down together to chat.

Old Ozzy had been in business for many years, a true sly dog, growing more cunning with each deal, and he could speak the lingo, whether he was talking to humans or ghosts, so it seemed that he and Marlon hit it off pretty well.

"The same goes for you guys. If someone in your family is getting married, moving house, or needs new furniture, head on over to Third Ring Furniture City and look for Ozzy’s Home Furnishings; they’ve got everything!" Yusuf Zuck joked with a few senior figures from the investment company.

"Sure, sure." Once Yusuf Zuck said so, the senior executives immediately ran over to Old Ozzy for his business card, also considering whether they should replace their old beds and old furniture at home.

In fact, Yusuf Zuck had already decided. Tonight, he would kick off Old Ozzy’s business venture in the capital as a furniture salesman.

As people from the investment company arrived one after another, Ruth Wilcox also came downstairs to greet them personally. Yusuf Zuck didn’t miss the opportunity to talk to her about the furniture for the Tianjin hotel, and he even suggested that the restaurant’s tables, chairs, and benches could be due for a change!

"You’re really putting in a lot of effort to help him!" Ruth Wilcox said with a wry smile.

"If I give him money directly, he won’t accept it. He might sound brash, but the guy has principles and takes pride in his work. If I just shove money at him, he’d spit it right back in my face!"

"Alright, I’ll talk to him later. I also feel that the restaurant’s ambiance doesn’t match the tables and chairs. The order from Tianjin is big, so I’ll need to discuss it with him properly!"

Just before 7 pm, over a hundred people from the investment company had arrived, including Devin King, Russ Trujillo, and Felicity O’Brien. Yusuf Zuck had personally called them and invited them as well.

"Devin, you’ve got to help me," Yusuf Zuck pulled Devin King and Russ Trujillo aside.

"Help you with what?" Devin joked. "Isn’t it just dinner today? You’re treating us; don’t tell me you didn’t bring enough money?"

"I’m stuck being someone’s workhorse right now. See that guy over there... the chubby one, spitting while he talks? That’s my naked butt buddy. I’m working as a salesman for his company, and now I’m mainly pushing furniture. The volumes are huge, so could you help sell some furniture, contact some customers, preferably government clients?"

"I—damn, why do you want me to help with everything?"

Yusuf Zuck rolled his eyes. "If you don’t help me, I won’t help you. Fair’s fair. I’ve got no time for treating illnesses; I’m off on a vacation to Sanya tomorrow!"

"I’ll freaking help," Devin gritted his teeth. "What a B-storm of a task."

"Pfft—" Yusuf Zuck nearly burst out laughing. "Watch your language; you’re a leader. Old Ozzy, Old Ozzy, come over here..." Upon hearing Devin’s agreement, Yusuf Zuck called for Old Ozzy loud enough that Old Ozzy, who was nearly out of business cards and was currently on the phone asking his staff to bring two more boxes to the furniture city, rushed over.

"You guys talk. This is a big leader; there’s nothing in the entire four-nine city he can’t handle. Today, you’re in charge of knocking him down with drinks!" Yusuf Zuck patted Old Ozzy on the shoulder.

"Nice to meet you, leader. I’m Ozzy Parham, double O-P, the silent ’dawn’ kind of dawn!" Old Ozzy took out a business card and then shook hands with the leader.

"And you, don’t just stand there laughing. When you get married, buy all your furniture from his place, remember, it’s Ozzy’s Home Furnishings!" Yusuf Zuck pointed at Russ Trujillo.

"Got it, got it. I’ll buy, I’ll go tomorrow. You’re too much as a salesman, I can’t afford to offend you," Russ Trujillo also hurried over for a business card.
