Invisible Security Guard
Chapter 506 - 505: Dealing

Chapter 506: Chapter 505: Dealing

The situation really escalated. Yusuf Zuck’s order for the security to detain people was an illegal detention, and it was an open defiance of the law, so each of the law enforcement officers made calls, and then New Century was surrounded.

Indeed, in less than ten minutes, the quick-acting police from the capital city arrived, and the sound of police sirens was incessant.

Yusuf Zuck pulled Ruth Wilcox behind him. Ruth also became somewhat frightened because Yusuf Zuck had caused such a big commotion. There was a saying that ordinary citizens shouldn’t contend with officials, but now Yusuf Zuck seemed to have gone mad. She couldn’t stop him and had no way of stopping him.

Yusuf Zuck checked the time. He wasn’t joking around; if Devin King didn’t solve New Century’s problem for him, he really would kill someone.

Fortunately, before ten minutes were up, Devin King arrived in a hurry. It was unclear how he managed to get there so quickly, and he was accompanied by a middle-aged man in a white shirt.

"My ancestor, what are you doing?" After Yusuf Zuck motioned for the security to let Devin King and the man in the white shirt in, Devin King wore a look of bitter disappointment. Why had this ancestor returned only to cause such a fuss? Couldn’t he discuss things nicely?

"Nine minutes have passed, and in less than one, if you haven’t given me an explanation, I’ll still kill, starting with that fat guy. He’s the team leader, the one who came here to find fault!" Yusuf Zuck pointed to the leader of the law enforcement team.

"Alright, alright, I’ll explain, okay?" Devin King said with a face of helplessness. "All the losses incurred by New Century during these days of closure will be tallied, and the relevant departments will compensate you. That’s the first point."

"Second, on my way here, I made some calls to pull some strings for you. Since you run a business, I’ve drummed up customers for you. Some foreign visitor guests, even heads of state, will be sent your way in the future."

"Heads of state from abroad can stay at our hotel?" Yusuf Zuck’s eyes lit up as he spoke.

"If they don’t stay in hotels, you want them to sleep under bridges? They all stay in hotels. It’s not like they can stay at some leader’s house, right? So from now on, your New Century needs to be prepared to receive foreign guests. Basically, there might be guests arriving every day, as well as various organizations coming to China on inspections, and so on and so forth. Many will be arranged to come to you!"

"Then there are the official banquets hosted by various ministries, which can also be held at your New Century. It’s all for work meals, right?"

"This is my promise to you, and I guarantee to deliver. Of course, you can’t disappoint me either. The service, quality, and everything must be upgraded to align with international standards."

"Devin, you’re solid." Yusuf Zuck chuckled and said, "However, I still want the mastermind and that fat guy. He’s not fit to hold office, what kind of official is someone who just acts as a pawn for others?"

"It’s already been investigated. You know Bud Trujillo, right? The relevant departments have already invited his father for ’tea,’ and that person is also an old subordinate of Bud’s father. He will be joining for ’tea’ soon too. You don’t need to bother with such petty people—I’ve got everything under control!" Devin King patted his chest and said.

"The Trujillo Family!" Yusuf Zuck sighed. So Bud’s father, Bigwig Trujillo, had connections here!

Although Bud had been sent off to Japan by his father, he also died in Japan, which likely left Bigwig Trujillo feeling out of sorts. Perhaps after investigating him, they started using their power to target New Century.

"Enough, let’s leave it at that." Yusuf Zuck felt utterly disheartened and no longer had the desire to kill anyone. If Bigwig Trujillo was invited for ’tea,’ he would be drinking ’tea’ forever and would never be released. Yusuf Zuck felt no need to talk tough anymore.

"Tell everyone to disperse," Devin King instructed the man in the white shirt.

"Let’s disperse, everyone get back to work. And, Paisley, call Marlon Shepherd to arrange for all the staff of Tianyi Investment to come over for dinner after work; it’s on me,"

"Got it, big brother Yusuf," Paisley Kirk was thrilled beyond measure. Yusuf Zuck had caused such a commotion and yet emerged unscathed, even having a high-ranking official come over to apologize to him.

"Ruth, you heard what Devin said, right? So hurry up and get ready. The serving staff all need to know foreign languages, and we need to redeploy the New Century’s strategies!"

"I know, I know, I’m going upstairs to the meeting." Ruth Wilcox was so excited, having heard every word from Devin King clearly. New Century would become the go-to place for official receptions and banquets, a fantastic opportunity hard to come by.

"Devin, Fengdu is also mine now, so make sure to count that in as well,"

"Got it, no problem. I’m generous, right?" Devin King chuckled.

"Go on, I’m listening." Once Yusuf heard that, he knew Devin had a favor to ask.

"Save three people, and I also need one drop of that medicine of yours. The three drops we got last time evaporated after they arrived in the country!"

"I can save them, but I can’t do it for free, right?" Yusuf didn’t hesitate. He had saved foreigners before, so why not Chinese? Besides, if Devin wanted them saved, they must be no ordinary people; he had to save them. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t be able to live in China.

"Ancestor, can’t you drop the talk about money? Those people don’t have that much, and it’s not possible for the state to pay for their treatment. Can’t you just do a good deed? Consider it a favor you owe me," Devin King pleaded, his face filled with difficulty. The three patients truly had no money; if they had had any, they would have donated it already, even giving away most of their salaries.

"At least four favors, one for each person and one for the medicine. Four favors, no negotiation!" Yusuf held up four fingers firmly.

"That’s the spirit! I knew you would agree. I wasn’t wrong about you!" Devin King praised loudly. No matter what, Yusuf didn’t hold a grudge, even though Devin had once been ordered to kill him. But Yusuf truly bore no resentment.

This was a matter of magnanimity, a question of vision. He didn’t hate the officials for wanting him dead, nor did he bear any ill will towards them. In this respect, many people fell short compared to him.

Yusuf gave Devin a glance and smiled, "I keep things straightforward. If I made a mistake in the past, then I deserved the punishment. Thus, I don’t blame or resent anyone. After all, whether it was you or the officials who gave the order, you were all doing your duty and not acting out of personal vendetta, treating me as a criminal. You or they were in that position, so what you did wasn’t wrong. So let’s put the past behind us."

"Actually, I was just trying to scare Jingcheng earlier. There’s no place like home, and I’ve had enough of living abroad. I can’t leave this country; I can’t leave the land that raised me, so I won’t be going out again!"

"Hmm, Yusuf, I’ve never doubted your love for this country. Well done!" Devin clapped Yusuf on the back.

"However, there’s another thing I need to give you a heads-up about," Yusuf said with a half-smile, looking at Devin: "Find a chance, find the time, I want to have another go with you. Last time, you killed me with a single palm strike, let’s see if this time I can kill you with one!"

"Of course, don’t worry, even if I do kill you, I can bring you back to life!"

"Alright, you want to challenge me? I’m up for it. But to tell the truth, over the years, many who have challenged me have regretted it. Just don’t end up crying in a corner later, haha!"
