Chapter 491: Chapter 490: The Ruthless Maurice Singleton

Hearing Whitley’s words, Yusuf Zuck raised his eyebrows as he had guessed that among the next nine patients, it was very likely there would be individuals sent by some organizations, aiming to obtain the medicine he used to treat patients.

What he didn’t expect was that domestically, they would go to such lengths to arrange for three people.

"I don’t want to talk to you. Don’t test my patience," Yusuf Zuck glanced at her, indifferent to whoever had sent those nine patients, he would only proceed according to his plan, interested only in the payment, without asking further questions.

Whitley was taken aback for a moment. Information she had indicated that Yusuf Zuck was quite a flirt; why then did he show no gentlemanly demeanor upon meeting her? Was she not pretty enough?

"Alright, Yusuf, what Whitley said is true. We’ve already paid a deposit, and if you give us the formula, we’ll immediately pay the remainder. You won’t even need to treat anyone. How about it?" Devin suddenly said.

Yusuf scratched his head, indeed curious about what exactly his Purple Water Drop was, but when he tried experimenting with it alone a few days ago in the teahouse, he could use only one drop per day—it wasn’t unlimited.

Otherwise, when treating the second batch, he wouldn’t have cured only one per day because that was all he could do in one day.

Another problem was that, aside from entering a human body, the Purple Water Drop would vanish within three minutes no matter what container it was dropped into.

That’s right, disappear, turn directly into air—just like when entering a human body, it could only last a few minutes before being expelled along with sweat or other bodily fluids.

So, he really couldn’t give the Purple Water Drop to anyone; it simply couldn’t be handed over.

"You must have looked for those nine patients I treated, right? If you want my medicine, then extract their blood or something," Yusuf blinked and said.

"We’ve tried, and other organizations have too. But the extracted blood or any other secretions showed nothing unusual," Devin shook his head.

Yusuf nodded, his own conclusion was confirmed: the Purple Water Drop was not replicable, extractable, nor could it be turned into a medicinal formula.

"Let’s move on to the next topic. I’m not giving you the formula. I will proceed as planned, using my medicine to heal people. If the patients don’t want to take the medicine, I can give it to them, but not to you," Yusuf said calmly.

"That’s fine," Devin nodded; since Yusuf had agreed, that made things easier.

"We have another request, which is that we hope you won’t give any remaining medicine to anyone else. Although this might be difficult for you, making you earn less, it’s a matter related to a country’s soft and hard power, so please consider it carefully!"

"No need to consider. Besides you all, I’ll only treat others, and whether or not they can extract it from the human body is their problem," Yusuf nodded, assuring him.

"Good, I trust your word," Devin praised.

"Also, what are your plans for the future? Staying abroad all the time? Being abroad is very dangerous. With such a sensational matter stirred up by you, it’d be hard not to be targeted!"

"Are you suggesting I can go back to my country?" Yusuf laughed.

"Certainly, why not? Leaves return to their roots, and so should a stray child. Food in foreign lands surely can’t taste good, and I bet you miss the women and friends back home, so yes, you can return. Nobody said you couldn’t!"

"I’m afraid if I go back, you’ll start yelling and screaming at me!" Yusuf chuckled.

"That won’t happen. Before coming here, I visited the director and the higher-ups. They were briefed by us, so you’re a special case. The state still values talent!"

"Alright, I’ll take care of things abroad and then return," Yusuf said to Devin as he clasped his hands in thanks: "Much appreciated."

"Mhm, there’s one more thing..." Devin began, embarrassed as he glanced at Yusuf.

"Forget it!" Yusuf immediately shook his head, no matter what Devin’s request was, he wasn’t going to agree anymore.

"Do you know what my request is?" Devin King asked curiously.

"There are only two possibilities: one is for me to join the Dragon Group and serve you, and the other is... well, it must be for me to join Heaven, right?" Yusuf Zuck said, raising his eyebrows.

"Shush~" Hearing Yusuf Zuck’s words, Devin King sighed deeply, then looked at Yusuf Zuck strangely and said, "You’ve really got a sharp mind."

"Haha." Yusuf Zuck and Devin King burst into laughter together.

"With the chance to join Heaven and earn money, we won’t make things hard for you. Why not join? It’s a great deal!" Devin King tempted.

"Nothing to it, you may leave now. Also, considering how hard you’ve worked, I’ll tell you something: my potion can only last for three minutes. After three minutes, it will automatically dissipate into the air, so you figure out how to preserve those three drops I’m giving you!"

"What?" Devin King was taken aback by Yusuf Zuck’s words. This place was thousands of miles away from our homeland; three minutes? That’s not even enough time to walk out of Chinatown!

"Are you serious?" Devin King gulped and asked.

"Believe it or not, it’s up to you. But you have scientists; let them study it and see if they can find a way to preserve it!" Yusuf Zuck said with a smile.

"Okay, I’ve got it. You be careful too abroad. Heaven won’t rest easy about you, and it probably won’t be long before other powers find you too. Don’t think you’ve hidden flawlessly; if we can find you, so can others. Take care of yourself!" Having said that, Devin King left with Whitley Ortiz through the back wall.

Yusuf Zuck sat alone in the courtyard lost in thought for a moment, then turned back into the house and picked up the phone to call Zain Singleton.

"How much is each of the nine patients willing to pay?" Yusuf Zuck asked in a deep voice.

"Boss... we’ve struck it rich..." Zain Singleton seemed to tremble with excitement, "Just the deposits from the nine people have reached ten billion US Dollars. If we include everything, our total revenue is four hundred and seventy billion, in US Dollars."

"Whew~" Yusuf Zuck couldn’t help but gasp at the numbers. Adding what Heaven had given, plus what he had earned before, his wealth had reached an astonishing figure in just a few months, even exceeding that of the number one on Forbes’ rich list!

Of course, the so-called wealthiest person announced on Forbes is a farce; the world’s truly rich never make it onto Forbes.

"Arrange for all nine patients to come to Los Angeles, the specific location for treatment will be communicated by phone. We start treating the first patient the day after tomorrow. Also, Zain, keep a tight lid on Paul, David, and the others’ mouths."

"Boss, there’s something you don’t know!" Zain Singleton whispered, "Paul, David, Nicholas, and the guys, they had an accident and fell into the sea a few days ago, all dead. Now, the only one left who knows your true identity is Elena. And I remember that Elena can’t swim either. Should I invite her over for a vacation?"

"You took care of them?" Yusuf Zuck was shocked.

Zain Singleton thought for a moment and then said, "The world out there isn’t peaceful. A lot of people want to know your identity. And here, they were the only ones who knew. So, the best way to seal their lips was an accidental fall into the sea!"

"Alright, you’re even tougher than me, but I like it!" Yusuf Zuck laughed, "Let’s spare Elena, she’s helping me set up an Intelligence organization right now. Besides, I can’t bring myself to kill her, though I don’t foresee anything happening between us. Having her around does make life more interesting, doesn’t it?"

"You’re absolutely right, boss. Oh, I forgot to tell you something, my mother has passed away, and my wife and Methelin are now in Wuhan, China."

"You mean Wuhan, right?" Yusuf Zuck corrected with a sweat.

"Yes, that’s right. Last year during Spring Festival, I had Macklin buy a house there."

"Haha, Zain, you’re really something. Get back to work, and once you’ve wrapped things up, let’s find a place to have a few drinks!"

"Sure, boss, but you need to be careful too. Those nine patients might try something during your treatment, or they might simply be bait to lure you out. So I hope you’re prepared, and I will be too."
