The so-called wedding witness ceremony varies from place to place, and for Marlon Shepherd and Collins Brown, Yusuf Zuck simply had to read the content on the marriage certificate aloud, declaring to the world that theirs was a legally recognized marriage.

Yusuf Zuck said a few words of blessing and encouragement on the ceremony stage before he proceeded to read the contents of the marriage certificate.

The process was quite straightforward, and the host didn’t crack jokes at the expense of those witnessing the marriage, unlike other venues where the host would roast everyone present, including the best man, the bridesmaids, and the like, just for a laugh.

After stepping down from the stage, Yusuf Zuck immediately headed for a table up front, where Miles O’brien, Raelyn Petty, Paisley Kirk, Samuel Ross, and others were seated, filling a large table.

"Mia, come over," Yusuf Zuck beckoned to Mia, motioning for her to join him!

Mia felt somewhat embarrassed as she walked over to Yusuf Zuck’s side, while everyone looked on, as no one there knew her, including people like Samuel Ross.

"Let me introduce her – Lara Tuff, a very good friend of mine, someone I would take a knife for," Yusuf Zuck announced with great seriousness.

Miles O’brien and the others all stood up; Yusuf Zuck was being so formal, so everyone felt compelled to show their respect.

"Hi everyone, just call me Mia from now on," although she was a rich heiress, Mia’s personality was such that she could easily hang out with anyone without pretense, very approachable and definitely not the type to put on an air of aloofness!

"Hmm, this is Miles O’brien, this is Raelyn Petty, Paisley Kirk, Delaney Valencia, Anna Cooke, Samuel Ross, Benedict Cooke, Jerome Hart, Faye Webb..." Yusuf Zuck introduced everyone one by one, and Mia managed to remember them in a somewhat muddled way, though it was clear that the first person introduced, Miles O’brien, had a very special relationship with Yusuf Zuck, with a smile that was filled with endless tenderness.

"Take a seat, everyone. Mia met Marlon in Hong Kong, and they’re quite familiar with each other, which is why she’s here today too," Yusuf Zuck said after the introductions, signaling for everyone to sit down. Then, Miles O’brien took the seat to his left, and Mia to his right.

There was no helping it; Yusuf Zuck couldn’t let Mia and Miles O’brien sit too close to each other, for fear that something untoward might happen.

But today was Marlon’s big day, so everyone refrained from discussing anything but the wedding, and with a large crowd, the conversation dispersed into various topics with plenty of laughter.

Of course, no one asked where Mia had come from, as it was not a good question to ask. Not just about Mia, but everyone knew about Yusuf Zuck’s relationship with Ember Vance, and since Yusuf Zuck and Miles O’brien were boyfriend and girlfriend, topics about Yusuf Zuck’s philandering were taboo and not to be brought up, lest it lead to a fight.

"Let me say something," Yusuf Zuck began, after a brief lull in the conversation, taking advantage of everyone being present.

"By tomorrow morning, those who should go home will go home, at least wait until after the Lantern Festival to return. No one is allowed to come back early, and ideally, everyone should get out of here right after dinner!"

"And I’m not joking. Consider this an order," Yusuf Zuck looked everyone in the eye.

"All right, we’ll leave after dinner," Samuel Ross nodded his head. Since Yusuf Zuck was serious, they would follow the instruction.

Paisley Kirk glanced at Yusuf Zuck. He had promised to accompany her home for the Chinese New Year and to act as her boyfriend. However, since Yusuf Zuck didn’t bring it up, she didn’t dare ask any more about it.

"Louise, you should head back to Shijiazhuang first. The store’s all set, right? So leave this afternoon."

"Oh, but..." Louise Garrett wanted to say that if she left, what would Yusuf Zuck do without her.

"Don’t worry, Louise, I have the keys to the store; I can look after it. You’ve been busy all year; you should head back a few days early for the New Year," someone interjected.

"Exactly, exactly, the sister-in-law should definitely get an early break," several people called her sister-in-law, and Louise Garrett blushed for a moment and then stole a glance at Mia.

Mia pretended not to hear and continued chatting with the nurse beside her.

"That’s right, everyone’s New Year goods are ready; everyone gets a share. After you leave later, go by the store to pick them up; don’t let anyone skip this. Yusuf Zuck arranged it, and if you don’t take it, you will not receive your salary next year!"

"Haha," hearing Louise Garrett’s words, everyone laughed. They were being given New Year goodies whether they wanted them or not.

"If I find out anyone’s still here by ten o’clock tomorrow morning, don’t blame me if I turn against you!"

"Leave... leave... everybody out," someone called out decisively.

"Lara, you go to the store later too, there’s still New Year goods left, take your share!" Louise Garrett then smiled warmly at Lara Tuff.

"I won’t, I won’t, thank you, Louise," Mia shook her head repeatedly and immediately gave her thanks.

"You should go and get one too, and by the way, bring one back for Jia Yun," Yusuf Zuck said to Mia, winking at her.

"Wouldn’t that be inappropriate?" Mia whispered.

"When I tell you to get something, just get it, why all the nonsense?" Yusuf Zuck glared at her and said.

"Fine, I’ll listen to you," Mia said indifferently.

Soon, the ceremony ended and the food and drinks were served, and Marlon Shepherd and Collins Brown, a couple, were actually the first to come to their table.

The main reason was that Yusuf Zuck was now their boss, and they naturally wanted to toast to him first!

"Boss, all you beautiful ladies and handsome gents, thank you, thanks a lot. My wife and I would like to offer a toast to everyone. Also, tonight I’m hosting, let’s continue drinking!"

"Drink... drink... we can’t drink anymore, the boss has told us to all roll back to our hometowns," Wu Mao stammered.

"We won’t be drinking tonight," Yusuf Zuck shook his head and smiled, "I told them to head back home for the holidays as soon as possible, with the Spring Festival travel rush coming it’s going to get crowded. We’ll drink when they return."

"That’s fine, then let me wish everyone a safe trip in advance," Marlon Shepherd said, finishing his glass.

"Go and attend to the other guests, don’t worry about us, we’ll be leaving after eating," Yusuf Zuck patted Marlon Shepherd on the shoulder. Since his return, he hadn’t had a proper chat with Marlon Shepherd; he didn’t even know if Marlon had bought the house in Shanghai, or about the Hong Kong winery, the operation of the investment company, the Australian mining prospects, and so on—they hadn’t communicated on these yet.

"Don’t leave just yet, I’ll get a room later, and let’s go upstairs to talk," Marlon Shepherd whispered.

"No need to talk, you handle everything, I’ll sign wherever you mark. You’re married now, spend time with your wife and family first, we can talk about everything else after the holidays are over."

"What are you busy with then? I’m telling you, there are still quite a few things to discuss."

"I have to go out, if not to Hong Kong then to Sanya. My old man is in Sanya, and my girl is in Hong Kong, working through the holidays with no break, rushing the work. So, I’ll probably have to leave Beijing in a day or two!"

"Alright, alright, then we can always communicate over the phone, right?" Marlon Shepherd also understood that Yusuf Zuck wanted him to enjoy the New Year.

At the wedding banquet, everyone ate to the point of politeness and did not drink much, as most were driving. So, after less than half an hour, many guests began to leave. Yusuf Zuck’s group said goodbye to Marlon Shepherd and left the hotel together.

Mia had driven another car here, so she got into her car alone, while the others all convened and headed toward Ruiz Family’s area, having agreed to go pick up their New Year goods.

Paisley Kirk was still sitting in Miles O’brien’s car looking a bit sad, with reddened eyes, forcing herself to talk to Raelyn Petty and Anna Cooke beside her.

She felt that Yusuf Zuck had forgotten the thing he promised her.

"Ring ring ring~" Her mobile phone suddenly rang with a message a short while after they set off. As she was staring blankly out the window, she seemed not to hear it.

"Paisley, your phone just rang," Raelyn Petty reminded her.

"Oh," Paisley Kirk took out her phone listlessly and glanced at it.

However, after just one glance, she immediately covered the screen with her hand, frantically stuffed the phone into her bag, and the previously downhearted Paisley Kirk’s eyes shone with excitement at that moment!

"What’s wrong?" Raelyn Petty asked, puzzled.

"Nothing, nothing, just a spam message," Paisley Kirk said, pretending not to care.
