Chapter 376: Truly Relatives

Chapter 376: Chapter 376: Truly Relatives

When the young man called him "brother-in-law," the Flying Sword had already rushed out towards Shinji Yamamoto’s neck, and it moved swiftly to slash at Tadeo Ono and Blaze May.

Upon seeing the Flying Sword shooting towards them, the two immediately retreated, leaping back in succession without pause.

The Flying Sword sliced past Tadeo Ono’s back of the head, and skimmed across Blaze May’s chest. Luckily, both were quick to dodge, or they would have become ghosts under the sword by now.

Even so, the pair broke out in a cold sweat, as the speed and sharpness of the Flying Sword were daunting. Even with their great abilities, they found it a tremendous headache.

Their retreat allowed the young man to help the woman up, and they quickly moved towards the corner of the room.

"Haha, brother-in-law, you’re awesome." At this moment, the young man laughed heartily. With Yusuf Zuck taking one down upon arrival, the odds were now in their favor—a three-on-two situation.

"You know me?" Yusuf Zuck conversed with the young man across Tadeo Ono and Blaze May.

"Yeah, I know you, you don’t know me, we’re related by marriage!" The young man chuckled with a "heh heh."

"Stop talking nonsense," the woman suddenly interrupted the young man’s chatter.

"You two go first, I’ll hold them off. Hurry." Yusuf Zuck was not in the mood to discuss familial connections with the young man at such a dangerous time. With two great experts here and soldiers and police outside, the place was surrounded like an iron barrel. While he could escape smoothly, the fate of the young man and woman was less certain.

"No way, no way, our mission is to bring you back safely." The young man shook his head and said, "Brother-in-law, let’s join forces, take them down!" Having said that, the young man took the initiative to strike first again.

Seeing him move, Yusuf Zuck also charged forward with his sword. Tadeo Ono, hating himself, let out a fierce shout and charged head-on.

Blaze May went up against the young man,

After the woman quickly treated her wounds, she too joined the fight, although her martial prowess was clearly much lower than that of the young man.

With a "bang," Yusuf Zuck’s Short Sword clashed with Tadeo Ono’s katana, creating showers of sparks. To Yusuf Zuck’s surprise, Tadeo Ono’s katana did not break.

Indeed, his Flying Sword, which could slice through iron like mud, did not manage to sever Tadeo Ono’s katana.

Of course, the katana was deeply notched by the slash, but even so, Yusuf Zuck’s Divine Weapon was slightly superior.

Yusuf Zuck was sent flying backward, stopping after retreating about six or seven meters. Tadeo Ono was very strong, truly in the realm of Truth-Insight, so Yusuf Zuck was no match for him in a head-to-head fight.

"Is that all you’ve got? Today I will take your head!" Having gained the upper hand with one move, Tadeo Ono immediately unleashed his formidable combat strength. This man who had wreaked havoc in Japan and killed his entire family wasn’t that strong after all—merely capable of wielding a Flying Sword.

Yusuf Zuck retreated quickly. The corridor was narrow, leaving him with little advantage. He had to dodge and look for the opportunity to strike unexpectedly.

And as he fled, Tadeo Ono was taken aback for a moment, but soon his face turned a livid blue with anger, and he shouted, "Fight like a true samurai, don’t make me lose respect for you!"

"I respect your daughter, dammit!" Yusuf Zuck cursed. Knowing he was no match in a direct attack, what was he supposed to do, play the part of a samurai and wait to be killed?

He turned into a stairwell, and with a flicker, he disappeared.

Tadeo Ono pursued, katana in both hands, listening carefully for any sounds around him, his icy gaze sweeping over every possible hiding place.

Meanwhile, the young man and woman, attacking from both sides, targeted Blaze May. Their coordination was flawless, leaving no gaps. As a result, Blaze May was at no advantage and even suffered some losses while retreating in battle.

"Brother-in-law, tough to tangle with, better bail when the wind turns. Turn your phone on later, I’ll give you a call!" Instead of pursuing their advantage, the young man, speaking in Sichuan dialect, grabbed the woman and jumped into an office. They had decided to flee first.

Hearing the young man retreat rather than fight, Yusuf Zuck couldn’t help but smile. However, he worried whether they could actually get away.

Yusuf Zuck turned invisible and went upstairs, while Tadeo Ono descended the stairs, having lost track of Yusuf. He didn’t know whether Yusuf had gone up or down.

Yusuf lay at a seventh-floor window, observing the commotion outside. In just a moment, he heard gunshots and shouting.

However, the chaos didn’t last long—only about two or three breaths—before the police started scrambling. Some officers quickly drove off, seemingly in pursuit of someone.

Yusuf praised the two young people, impressed by their remarkable escape skills.

"I’ve got to go!" Yusuf didn’t want to get entangled with Tadeo Ono any longer. Although he really wanted to kill Tadeo Ono, it wasn’t the right time. The situation outside was too dangerous. Currently, there were only Tadeo Ono and Blaze May, but what if more powerful figures arrived soon?

Therefore, if he were to kill, it must be through an assassination or a sneak attack; a direct confrontation was not an option. Besides, having already taken out a certain Yamamoto Shinji today was already a win.

Without any hesitation, and knowing his own limits, Yusuf quickly jumped from the seventh-floor window.

But he didn’t jump to the ground floor; instead, he first leaped to the sixth floor and then continued downward from the sixth-floor window.

Since he was invisible, nobody saw him.

A short while later, Yusuf had passed the police cordon and was running swiftly through the streets of Tokyo!

Yusuf’s guess was correct—soon after his departure, many more people arrived outside the building. There were ninjas, swordsmen, and shrine maidens. Many of Japan’s top experts had all gathered.

Whether it was Blaze May or Tadeo Ono, they were just one of the experts in their respective fields. Tadeo Ono was one of the top three in the Sword Dao Realm, indicating that there were two other top experts in the Sword Dao, and there were others in the Ninja Dao on par with Tadeo Ono. As for the Divine Realm, there was no need to mention it; they were the most mysterious and powerful group in Japan.

Twenty minutes later, having run through several blocks, Yusuf arrived at a park. Because it was late at night, the park was almost deserted, and he found a corner to turn on his phone.

Less than a minute after powering it on, a call from an unfamiliar number came in.

"Knew you could make it out. The old man always said you were special, and he wasn’t wrong, brother-in-law—it’s me!" came the young man’s laughing voice.

"Since when are you calling me brother-in-law?" Yusuf asked, genuinely perplexed.

"We’re related by marriage, man. Felicity’s sister is Louise," the voice explained.

"Felicity? Louise Garrett?" Yusuf was shocked. He knew Louise had a sister serving in the military down south, named Felicity, but the woman he’d just encountered was Louise’s sister in the military? How was that possible?

"Yeah, Felicity and I are engaged. I was planning to meet you at the Spring Festival, but here we are meeting sooner. Oh, my name’s Russ Trujillo. Even though we haven’t met, you’ve seen my Uncle Neal, right? And your Flying Sword— that belonged to my great-grandfather, you know. I asked for it but he never gave it to me, shame he gave it to you!"

"Russ Trujillo? Your uncle is Neal Trujillo?" Yusuf gasped again. The Short Sword had been given to him by a man named Neal Trujillo, who was representing his grandfather. And now, Russ Trujillo was connected to that same senior Mr. Trujillo—they were all from the same family, all with the surname Trujillo!

"Got it, but—how did Louise’s sister become... become so...?" Yusuf was dumbfounded. How could Louise’s sister be so formidable?

"Hehe, that involves some secrets. I can’t discuss it over the phone. But brother-in-law, our orders are to ensure your safe return home—it’s an absolute command. So when are we leaving? This damn Japan is filled with experts too; we can’t underestimate them," Russ said.

"If nothing unexpected happens, I’ll leave tomorrow afternoon, but I have my own way to exit, so you guys should head back first. And make sure that... Felicity doesn’t get into trouble!" After all, Felicity was his aunt by marriage, and they were supposed to meet before the Spring Festival. It just happened sooner than expected.

"My wife certainly can’t come to harm, brother-in-law. You seem too concerned, but let’s leave together. I have a way—a secure route out. We can’t go back first, otherwise, we won’t complete our mission!"
