Chapter 347: The Purple Pearl is Lost
Chapter 347: Chapter 347: The Purple Pearl is Lost
The Purple Pearl wasn’t actually a real treasure, it was at most a decorative item that could also be used in medicine.
But its value lying at two billion made it precious. Tyler Nash had bid two billion to buy this Purple Pearl, and even the three Truth-Insight masters in the shed had heard of it, so now that the Purple Pearl had gone missing, it was a big deal.
Here they were all prominent figures of Jianghu, and stealing was considered shameful. Moreover, if word got out that something had been stolen, people would say that these Jianghu folks were not clean-handed.
What’s most important was that the one who lost the item was a disciple of Antiono Benson, Master Feng Rong, and the disciple had intended to give the Purple Pearl to Feng Xiaoxin.
Although Feng Xiaoxin was not among the Truth-Insight, his strength was formidable, and he counted as one of the top ten masters here. Now that someone had stolen from him, could he let it go so easily?
After searching for a while and still not finding the Purple Pearl, Antonio Benson stood up abruptly upon hearing his disciples’ crestfallen report and headed towards the organizer’s shed.
"Please wait, Brother Feng!" someone from the shed came out to meet him, and seeing this person come out, the entire mountaintop fell silent at once, and those discussing the matter dared not speak any further.
Rachel Fournier whispered to Yusuf Zuck, "That is Brad Carlson, one of the three Truth-Insight masters, and he’s related by marriage to Feng Xiaoxin."
Brad Carlson stood on a chair, towering over the four to five hundred people assembled.
The number of people who had come did not exceed six hundred.
"As everyone has heard, a Magic Treasure has gone missing from the Qiankun Sect, and what we, the people of Jianghu, detest most are those whose hands are unclean. Whoever took it, come forward now, and I can speak for Sect Leader Feng not to pursue the matter. But if you don’t produce it and keep it hidden, then don’t blame us for being inhospitable!"
"The mountaintop is only so large; it would be easy for us to investigate and find it. I’ll give you three minutes to think it over. I can assure you, return it, and I won’t harm you!" Brad Carlson’s presence was especially imposing, standing tall, he seemed to oppress everyone with a breathless aura.
Yusuf Zuck didn’t dare to investigate with Telekinesis, although he didn’t know if Brad Carlson could detect his thought. He also didn’t want to take the risk since such persons had already gained the great liberty of True Self, and the slightest disturbance might alert them.
"Has no one come forward?" After waiting for a while and realizing no one intended to voluntarily return the Purple Pearl, Brad Carlson’s face went cold, and he suddenly shouted loudly, "Sage Madden, was it you who took it?"
"Oh my, please don’t blame me for this, Senior Brad; I’m truly wronged here. Why would I steal from fellow Jianghu members?" cried a tiny figure less than 1.6 meters tall from the crowd, skinny and small, looking like a monkey.
"That person is named Sage Madden, from the Thieves’ Sect; the world’s number one thief today is none other than him. What he sets his mind to steal, there’s nothing he can’t take!" whispered Rachel Fournier to Yusuf Zuck.
"There’s actually a Thieves’ Sect? It reminds me of Invisible!" Yusuf Zuck said with a smile.
"The Thieves’ Sect regards Invisible as their ancient ancestor. Heh, so they all take the surname ’Invisible’ upon joining, although this tradition isn’t recorded in history."
At this moment, Brad Carlson stared intently at Sage Madden, his gaze as if piercing through Sage Madden’s heart and soul, and he said coldly, "How do you expect me to believe you didn’t do it?"
"Senior Brad, please do not insult my honor!" Sage Madden declared righteously, raising his voice, "I’ve participated in this exchange several times already. Were there any thefts during the previous events? What use is the Purple Pearl to me? If I took it, would I dare to sell it? Even if I could sell it outside, would it fetch two billion? It’s utterly useless to me, so why would I bother?"
"Furthermore, when have you ever heard of Sage Madden stealing from ordinary people or fellow Jianghu members? Thus, your suspicion of me is an insult to my character. I don’t need to prove anything to you. If you lost your item, why blame me?"
"Heh, don’t be so angry, who else should we suspect if not a thief like you? But since you say you didn’t do it, I won’t pursue it further. It shouldn’t be too hard to find the Purple Pearl," said Brad Carlson with a light smile, then turned and went back inside the shed.
Everyone was unsure how he planned to search with four to five hundred people around. Surely, he couldn’t possibly search everyone personally, and even if he did, the fellow Jianghu members wouldn’t stand for it.
Just when everyone was cautiously discussing among themselves, Brad Carlson came out of the shed, accompanied by Isaiah Fowler, the master from Mount Wutai.
Although Isaiah Fowler was not among Truth-Insight, he was able to sit and chat with the three Truth-Insight masters over tea in one shed.
His status was incredibly high, yet many were inexplicably unaware of what Isaiah Fowler’s status was based on.
"The three Truth-Insight masters hold Isaiah Fowler in high regard. Although he is not a Truth-Insight, he enjoys the same treatment, which confuses many. They don’t know why," Rachel Fournier said, frowning.
"Is that so?" Yusuf Zuck raised an eyebrow. He knew why — it was because Isaiah Fowler possessed Divine Sense that others did not have, a supreme ability that could only be acquired after a soul-cleansing. With this Divine Skill, his combat power was likely immense, which earned him the respect of the three Truth-Insight masters.
"Nobody move," Brad Carlson said as he stood back on the chair and smiled. "Master Isaiah Fowler will personally locate the Purple Pearl shortly. Everyone, just stay silent and make way wherever Master Isaiah Fowler goes."
"Master Isaiah Fowler, please take the trouble to do so. Also, I’ll say it again, it’s not too late to hand it over now!" Brad Carlson said loudly.
"Amitabha," Isaiah Fowler chanted a Buddhist mantra and then positioned himself on the far left of the crowd.
"What’s he going to do?"
"How is he going to find it?"
"No idea?"
"Is Master Isaiah Fowler going to perform a magic trick?"
Many were curious about what Isaiah Fowler was going to do and how he would search.
Isaiah Fowler merely smiled faintly, closed his eyes to meditate for a moment, and then suddenly opened them before striding quickly through the crowd as if someone were chasing him from behind.
After making one loop from the front, he circled to the back and made another round.
After these two laps, he was sweating profusely, his face flushed with color, and he appeared very weary.
However, he said nothing and just furrowed his brow because he had examined everyone with his Divine Sense, including young disciple Tyler Nash, seeing through them completely, but no one had the Purple Pearl on them!
"It’s not on any of you, Amitabha," Isaiah Fowler said, shaking his head.
"It’s not on any of us?" Everyone was stunned for a moment and then turned their gazes towards Antiono Benson, Brad Carlson, and Tyler Nash.
"How could it disappear?" Tyler Nash asked loudly.
"Let’s keep looking, it might have dropped on the ground in the grass or someone may have hidden it away," Isaiah Fowler suggested, shaking his head.
"Forget it, let’s not look anymore." Just then, Antiono Benson suddenly waved his hand and scoffed, "Whoever took my Antiono Benson’s property, you’d better hope I don’t find out. If the day comes that I do, don’t blame me, Antiono Benson, for not being polite!"
"Let’s disperse, let’s disperse," Brad Carlson also found it extremely odd. Where could the Purple Pearl have gone? Could it have grown wings and flown away?
Everest Zuck tugged at Yusuf Zuck’s sleeve, with his palm all sweaty.
Yusuf Zuck knew about Tyler Nash overbidding for the Purple Pearl, and Yusuf had indeed been determined to have it. After playing Tyler Nash for a bit, now that Tyler’s pearl was missing, it had to be Yusuf’s doing. Others might not know what Yusuf was capable of, but was he not aware?
Once Yusuf became Invisible, what pearls and Magic Treasures could not be stolen by him? The only question was, where had Yusuf hidden the pearl?
