Chapter 338: Chapter 338: Mountain Desperate Situation
The chains etched into the cliff face were not taut nor thick, merely the girth of an infant’s arm.
Since they were neither stretched tight nor bulky, it would normally be impossible for anyone to stand and walk upon them. After all, they would sway.
However, after taking a step onto them, Yusuf Zuck stood firmly atop, like a steadfast pine, without wavering.
Although he wasn’t running across the chains like some others could, he nonetheless stood solid and unshaken.
Yusuf hadn’t anticipated his own sense of balance to be so remarkable. He thought he’d have to crawl across by gripping the chains if his footing failed, but under the influence of Telekinesis, his balancing ability turned out exceptionally well.
"Huh~" He took a deep breath and then slowly began walking forward.
The chain exhibited a slight quiver, but not any violent shaking. He maintained an impressive balance between his body and the chain, finding an integrated angle of unity with it!
"Interesting, very interesting, this young man is intriguing!" Allan Zuck couldn’t help but repeatedly express his admiration. A common person walking on such chains? One in a million.
"Hehe, is it just interesting? I think this little brother is quite extraordinary!" Rachel Fournier giggled.
As Yusuf advanced, the amplitude of the chain’s sway grew more pronounced. There was a breeze between the cliffs, and the middle of the chain was the slackest, hence the swaying became more intense.
However, it seemed he had found his rhythm; his body swayed with the motion of the chain. Far from appearing clumsy, he seemed quite at ease. His strides even seemed larger, his pace quicker.
Yes, his speed increased and his strides grew because, Yusuf suddenly realized that with Telekinesis, he could master the minutest control of his strength. Synchronizing with the chain’s motion, his steps were so precise that it was as though his feet were nailed to the chain with each step.
The Mountain Chain spanned a distance of over a hundred meters, yet he crossed it with ease. Reaching the other side and glancing back, he found it unbelievable himself—he hadn’t expected to traverse the chain with such ease!
"It seems there are still secrets about my body yet to be uncovered!"
"Little brother, impressive." Rachel Fournier began her crossing, almost tiptoeing on the chain, then gliding over like a swallow.
Allan Zuck didn’t run either. Instead, he walked step by step, not looking down at his feet but gazing straight ahead, striding forth as if walking on level ground.
Yusuf knew he wasn’t dreaming tonight; he had really encountered those legendary remarkable individuals, who seemed to have gathered here.
Rachel made her way over, Allan also crossed safely, and Yusuf’s attention turned to a large rock in front of him, beyond which there was nothing but a smooth, mirror-like rock wall.
At the end of the chain, there was only space enough for three or four people to stand, provided by this large rock with a rock wall behind it.
"If you can lift this stone, you can enter. Once inside, your sister here guarantees your safety," Rachel pointed to the boulder in front of Yusuf.
At that moment, Allan explained, "This stone weighs one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight pounds. Moving the stone will reveal the doorway."
"Hehe, got it." In truth, Yusuf had already seen everything with Telekinesis. This rock seemed to act like a lever, which, when lifted, would pull on a chain mechanism beneath it, causing a stone door above on the rock wall to automatically open.
Indeed, there was an imperceptible stone door on the smooth rock face, like a mirror, and beyond the stone door lay a pitch-dark passage.
Yusuf Zuck explored forty-five meters with his telekinesis and still did not see the end of the passage.
However, he also marveled at how magical this world was. Who had carved such a cave here?
He walked up to the boulder, grabbing what seemed like handles on either side, then bellowed and abruptly lifted the one-ton boulder!
Yes, to him, a one-ton boulder was nothing. Having mutated, he could easily lift a car with one hand, let alone two hands lifting a rock.
"Uh..." Rachel Fournier and Allan Zuck were stunned when they saw Yusuf Zuck effortlessly lift the boulder, and they both scrutinized him closely once again.
But soon, they confirmed that Yusuf Zuck was not a practitioner of the Inner Strength martial arts—his body was devoid of qi. Yet, how could someone without Inner Strength lift such a massive stone?
"How... how did you do that?" Rachel Fournier asked, puzzled.
"Born with great strength," Yusuf Zuck replied as he released the boulder, and a door automatically opened up on the rock wall, revealing the dark passage.
"Hahaha, the world is so vast that there’s nothing too strange to find! Today, this old man has truly gained new knowledge. Young friend, please come in. You are indeed a marvel, and you have the right to enter. I vouch for you!" Allan Zuck laughed heartily. If Yusuf Zuck casually crossing the Mountain Chain was not enough, the fact that he had effortlessly moved the boulder too certainly qualified him as a marvel. After all, he had no Inner Strength—so if he wasn’t a marvel, who was?
"Thanks to both of you," Yusuf Zuck said to Allan Zuck and Rachel Fournier, bowing with his fist cupped in the other hand, and then he led the way into the passage.
Of course, he continued to extend his telekinetic coverage to a radius of forty-five meters.
The passage stretched nearly a thousand meters with twists and turns and even inclines. Yusuf Zuck was also shocked at what sort of place this was and why there were such passages inside the mountain.
Thankfully, there were no dangers inside, and after walking for a solid fifteen minutes, they finally reached the end and saw groups of fires flickering ahead.
The fires, all campfires, were surrounded by people chatting and laughing in small groups. Yusuf Zuck took a quick glance and estimated that there might be around a hundred people gathered there.
"Brother, this place is called Fairy Land. It’s not really a mystical paradise, just a precipice of a mountain," Rachel Fournier said as she led Yusuf Zuck about ten steps to the left. When a gust of mountain wind blew and Yusuf Zuck jumped onto one of the protruding rocks to look out, he saw the inky mountains outside—they were on another mountaintop.
"I know where we are!" Yusuf Zuck exclaimed after recognizing the terrain nearby, remembering the mountains he had seen during the day.
Those mountains, standing tall like upright buckets, were high but not very big, scattered amidst the forest. The summits were bare with only a few trees scattered around, and these people were now on top of these towering upright mountains.
Nobody usually came here because it was simply not possible to scale these mountains, resembling buckets in their upright position, unless one had the aid of a helicopter to land atop them. Thus, they were inaccessible.
And now they had chosen this place for their secret conference, where human footprints were rarely seen.
Since it was night, the place was very quiet, no loud noises or disturbances, and Rachel Fournier whispered to Yusuf Zuck, "Come with me. We’ll rest first. The great assembly starts the day after tomorrow."
"Sister, can you tell me what the assembly is for?" Yusuf Zuck asked, genuinely addressing her as sister.
