Chapter 237: Chapter 237: Royal Nightclub
Emmet Burch shouted, snatched the phone from Yusuf Zuck’s hand, and glanced at the caller ID before hanging up.
"Emmet, what’s the meaning of this? How can you speak to my friend like that?" Jerome Hart was so angry he felt like slapping Emmet; the guy had clearly lost it.
"It’s fine, it’s fine, I thought it was your phone. Our phones look the same, so I just answered it, sorry about that," Yusuf Zuck said with a wave of his hand and a smile.
"Jerome, you don’t need to drive me; I can walk by myself. Don’t worry, I’ve been to the capital more times than you have!" After grabbing her phone, Emmet turned to leave again. When she reached the roadside, a taxi happened to pass by, and she got in.
Jerome stood at the entrance, watching Emmet get into the car; he didn’t go after her.
"Smoke?" Yusuf Zuck approached Jerome, offering him a cigarette.
"Yeah." Jerome nodded, took the cigarette, and started smoking at the entrance with Yusuf.
"How many years have you two been together?" Yusuf asked.
"Seven years."
"The seven-year itch, huh!" Yusuf gave a bitter smile. "That seven-year itch is really something—many people break up after seven years of being in love or knowing each other—could seven years be a milestone or what?"
"Maybe, but she wasn’t like this before," Jerome shook his head with a smile. "She used to be a quiet and gentle girl. I was the one calling the shots for everything; but ever since she started her postgraduate studies, she has changed a bit, and her expectations have gotten higher."
"When you were back home, did you spend a lot of time together?" Yusuf was curious.
"Not really, sometimes she’d have free time on weekends, and sometimes she couldn’t spare the time for weeks, so we had to squeeze in our moments together."
"This time she came to the city because she found a job here, in a governmental unit, through an older schoolmate of hers. I heard it cost quite a bit of money. Her family was very supportive, so she came over and asked me what to do. While talking about it, we ended up arguing!"
"Did she come here by herself?" Yusuf inquired.
"Yeah, she came straight to the clinic in a cab," Jerome nodded.
After thinking for a moment and reflecting for a few seconds, Yusuf finally said, "I answered a call from her earlier; the name was ’Senior Brother.’ He was inquiring about how she was, and he sounded very cautious."
"Heh," Jerome gave a faint smile. "That ’Senior Brother’ must have hooked her up with the job. In these past few years, I don’t even know the circles she’s been in; maybe she’s been cheating on me all this time!"
"Damn, you’re so calm about it?" Yusuf’s eyes widened. "I thought you’d be furious!"
"What’s there to be furious about?" Jerome shook his head. "What breaks my heart isn’t her, but the feelings I invested in this relationship."
"True, there’s nothing to be furious about. Back in my school days, my first girlfriend cheated on me, and I just moved on right away. It’s harder to find a three-legged toad than a two-legged woman. Although I was heartbroken, I was more eager to explore and discover new forests!"
"I really admire you, man. You have your main dish, your side dish, and you even flirt across the ocean—most importantly, you juggle them all with ease. I’m envious, jealous, and resentful!"
"Honestly, it’s a headache. I don’t even know how I’m going to deal with it in the future." Yusuf flicked his cigarette out the door before dragging Jerome with him. "Let’s go have some fun and heal your wounds!"
"I’m not wounded; just give me a moment to lock up. Why are you in such a hurry?" Jerome said, claiming he wasn’t hurt, yet he quickly locked up nonetheless.
"You seem to have recovered quite quickly, not at all like someone who’s just gone through a breakup. I seem to recall people in your situation being devastated," Yusuf teased while watching him lock up.
"Piss off!" Jerome cursed. "My grandfather never approved of our relationship, and she’s always had complaints about my family. I’ve been mentally prepared for this!"
"It’s better this way; now everyone can relax."
"Does she know you now have fifteen million in savings?" Yusuf asked with a smile.
"I haven’t told her," Jerome shook his head.
"Then I can only say, she’s the one missing out on the fortune," Yusuf said. "You’re going to be rich and successful!"
"Haha, that’s what I like to hear," Jerome laughed as they both got into the car.
"Where to?" he asked.
"Royal Nightclub, I’ve heard from Samuel Ross that it’s full of gorgeous girls, and the tips start at a thousand, but I’ve never been!"
"I’ve never been to such a place either," Jerome Hart shook his head.
"Let’s find Samuel, have him take us there." Yusuf Zuck picked up his phone and directly dialed Samuel’s number.
However, the phone rang for ages with no answer.
"Damn, could he be sleeping that deeply?" Yusuf tried Felix’s number next, but Felix didn’t answer either!
"Damn, something’s wrong." While talking, Yusuf changed directions; he wasn’t going to the nightclub anymore, he was heading home.
At the same time, he dialed Dream Morrow’s number.
Dream didn’t answer either.
"Don’t panic, don’t panic, I’m calling the old man," Jerome also got anxious, with three people not answering their phones, it must be something serious, so he took the initiative to dial the old man’s number.
"What’s with you, kid? What time do you think it is, calling and bothering me?" The phone only rang twice before Emmet Burch picked up.
"Uncle Felix, are you at home?" Jerome asked in surprise.
"Yeah, I just freaking fell asleep, and then you woke me up!" Emmet cursed.
"What about Sara, is she home?" Jerome continued to ask.
"Why are you asking about her? Let me tell you, you’ve got a girlfriend, you can’t be considering my daughter!" Emmet was never serious.
"Damn, give me that!" Yusuf snatched the phone away, frustrated, and asked while driving, "Is my sister or not at home?"
"Bullshit, if she’s not at home, where would she be? She’s been asleep for ages," Emmet retorted.
"What about Samuel, Felix, and Dream?" Yusuf was confused.
"Didn’t you take them out for dinner? They haven’t come back since the evening."
"Damn!" Yusuf just swore, "It’s fine, go back to sleep." After that, he hung up.
"They’re not at home, nothing’s wrong at home, and their phones are on, they can be reached but aren’t answering?" Yusuf muttered, "Could they be taking a shower?"
"That’s possible, maybe they’re at the Royal Nightclub too," Jerome said with a sly smile.
"Damn, let’s storm over!" Yusuf couldn’t help but laugh and cry; after being so worried, those three idiots were definitely up to no good.
In fact, before Yusuf and Jerome reached the Royal Nightclub, Samuel returned the call.
"Yusuf, what’s up? We’re on our way back," Samuel said in a hurry.
"Where are you guys?" Yusuf asked.
"Cough cough, just went out for some fun, just finished showering, getting dressed now!" Samuel coughed twice.
"Jerome’s been hit by love woes, and I was going to take him to the Royal Nightclub to heal, but we don’t know any procedure or routines there, thought of asking you to lead the way!"
"Damn, then I won’t get dressed, we three are at the Royal right now, hehehe..."
"Son of a bitch, not calling me for such good times," Jerome yelled at the phone.
"Alright, we’ll wait for you," Samuel hung up.
