Chapter 198: Chapter 198: Going to Amass Wealth Insanely.
"Yusuf Zuck, the casino manager wants to speak with you alone!" Lena Brown’s face turned somewhat pale; she had been in Las Vegas for several years now. Although she didn’t work in a casino, her company did have one, so she had heard all sorts of rumors and legends.
People like Yusuf Zuck who came to win money often mysteriously disappeared without a trace. The casino operated independently with its own team, which was entirely different from a regular company.
Anyone involved with gold, gambling, or drugs was bound to be involved with the underworld, so she thought Yusuf Zuck was in big trouble, serious trouble.
"Speak alone?" Yusuf Zuck glanced sideways at the casino manager, a white man likely in his thirties or forties, dressed in a white shirt and holding a walkie-talkie, maintaining a gentleman-like smile.
"Wait, give me the chips I won first!" Yusuf Zuck pointed at the dealer opposite him.
The dealer’s face changed, and he looked up at the manager standing behind Yusuf Zuck!
The manager gave a slight nod and said something in English.
The dealer took a stack of chips from under the table and, after counting out more than sixty-three million, pushed them all toward Yusuf Zuck.
This was more than sixty-three million US dollars, not renminbi, and this massive sum was undoubtedly astronomical.
Marlon Shepherd and Collins Brown, the couple, held each other’s hands tightly, anxious. Although Yusuf Zuck had won money, a chill ran through them.
Yusuf Zuck gathered all the chips in front of him, then pointed at Marlon Shepherd and said, "Keep an eye on these for me, eh? I’ll be back to continue playing shortly." After speaking, he stood up, looked at the manager, and said, "Lead the way."
"Please!" The manager gestured invitingly, and Yusuf Zuck followed him forward.
But after taking a couple of steps, Yusuf Zuck turned back to Lena Brown and said, "You follow too; otherwise, I won’t understand what they’re saying!"
"Ah?" Lena Brown’s mouth hung open, half in shock; she dared not follow.
The manager didn’t understand what Yusuf Zuck had said, so he looked at Lena Brown and then back at Yusuf Zuck.
Lena Brown, summoning her courage, stood up. She felt her legs heavy, her entire brain in a state of shutdown, devoid of autonomous thought, so she mechanically followed.
The manager, with the house’s skilled gambler, along with two security personnel, led Yusuf Zuck to a luxurious private room, complete with sofas and a television.
After signaling for Yusuf Zuck to sit down, the manager began speaking in English, a long string of words, then looked at Lena Brown.
At that moment, Lena Brown took a deep breath and translated, "Mr. Smith, the manager, says he greatly appreciates your gambling skills and wants to be friends with you!"
"Be friends?" Yusuf Zuck was taken aback; he had expected some kind of intimidation or threat, not an offer of friendship.
"Mr. Smith, just say what you want to say directly," Yusuf Zuck addressed Mr. Smith.
Lena Brown quickly translated.
After hearing this, Mr. Smith laughed and said something to the skilled gambler before speaking to Yusuf Zuck in a foreign language again.
"Mr. Smith says he admires a gambling expert like you, but he’s also seen many skilled gamblers die on the streets of Las Vegas," Lena Brown continued, her voice trembling. "He mentioned an ancient Chinese saying, ’The wise adapt themselves to circumstances.’ He asks that you stop here."
"Stop here?" Yusuf Zuck’s expression darkened. The casino didn’t want him to play anymore because if he continued, his winnings would keep doubling, and in no time, he would have taken billions or even tens of billions.
"Squeak—" The house’s skilled gambler, who had left earlier, entered the private room again, this time holding a check in his hand.
The manager took the check, bounced it in his hand, and then pushed it towards Yusuf Zuck.
Yusuf Zuck glanced at the check and saw a digit eight followed by many zeros.
"Lena Brown, can you check for me how much this is?" Yusuf Zuck picked up the check and handed it to Lena Brown.
Seeing the zeros, Lena Brown’s head began to spin, but she still answered immediately, "Eighty million US dollars, it’s a bearer financial instrument from Hilton. You can withdraw cash from any Citibank in the world!"
The manager continued to speak in a foreign language.
Claire Cooke also quickly translated, "Smith said you’ve won over sixty-four million, and the extra ten-plus million is compensation for you."
"OK, touché!" Yusuf Zuck took the check, stood up, said a phrase in English, then turned and left.
Smith did not stand up to see him off but was smiling faintly.
It wasn’t until Yusuf Zuck left the VIP room that Smith’s expression suddenly turned dark, "Follow him closely, and find a chance to kill him and take back the check!"
"Yes!" Two security personnel immediately walked out.
As Yusuf Zuck and Lena Brown made their way out, Marlon Shepherd and Collins Brown were already waiting at the entrance. Yusuf Zuck’s pile of chips had been claimed by the casino; they didn’t interfere, nor dared to interfere.
"Let’s go." Yusuf Zuck nodded at them softly, then took the lead out of the casino!
Just as the group of four walked out of the casino, Yusuf Zuck’s expression suddenly darkened, and he said quietly, "Sorry to involve you in this, and for disrupting your Las Vegas trip. My advice is for you to leave tonight. The money from earlier is with me. Once back in the country, I’ll contact you to distribute your share, how about that?"
"And what about you?" Marlon Shepherd was also aware of the danger here, knowing a gunman could show up at any time to shoot them unexpectedly, so they couldn’t stay any longer.
"This is only one casino, and it’s only eighty million. It’s too little; I need to visit a few more. The more fleas, the less they bite. I should earn my fill before they take me down!"
"Of course, I still need a translator. Miss Brown, if you wish, you can continue translating for me, and I can raise your hourly rate. Two million US dollars per hour. Of course, if you don’t want to earn those two million, you could help me find another professional translator!"
Lena Brown took a deep breath — two million per hour! If she were to spend one wild night in Las Vegas with Yusuf Zuck, she wouldn’t need to work here; she could retire back home!
"No problem, I’ll continue!" Faced with such a temptation, Lena Brown decided to risk it all.
"Then you two go ahead; Miss Brown and I will continue. Head straight for the airport and call me once you’re on the plane!" Yusuf Zuck nodded.
"Alright, we’ll get our luggage." Marlon Shepherd and Collins Brown nodded repeatedly and then took the elevator back to their rooms.
Yusuf Zuck didn’t rush to leave but waited for Marlon Shepherd and Collins Brown to leave safely before he would proceed to the next one!
Soon, in just about six or seven minutes, Marlon Shepherd and Collins Brown came downstairs with their bags, and Yusuf Zuck watched as the two got into a taxi and left.
"Come on, keep showing me around to other casinos; I want to win a billion US dollars tonight. Also, have a car ready for me. Once I’m done with gambling, I’ll leave straight away!"
"Drive mine. I’ll go with you, and I quit!" Lena Brown said softly.
"Uh... even better, haha!" Yusuf Zuck laughed and left the hotel with Lena Brown.
