Chapter 1559: Chapter 1579: Settling
Yusuf Zuck’s own strength actually had a certain gap compared to the Dao Ancestor. When he killed the Three Pure Ones back then, it was with the help of the black dog, Dahei. Without Dahei, he couldn’t contend against beings of the Dao Ancestor’s level alone.
Even though he now possessed the Giant Axe, as long as the opponent avoided a head-on collision with it, he had no solution.
So when the Dao Ancestor, Kenneth Melton, avoided his axe attack and launched a finger-strike, Yusuf realized that he couldn’t dodge this deadly attack in time.
The gap, the immense gap, became evident at that moment.
At this time, Yusuf was in no mood to ponder the gap, because when he heard that internal voice in his ear and felt the force like a death charm, he knew clearly that his head was about to explode.
It was a very direct heart warning, a premonition of death.
The Blood Beads in his mind still didn’t react, his heart contracted rapidly, and in that instant, he felt death closing in!
And in that split second, just as he heard his own skull begin to crack, he suddenly heard an explosion in his ear.
"Whoosh~" He heard a gust of wind and vaguely saw a black shadow.
"Bang~" His skull made cracking sounds, immediately he felt dizzy, his eyes grow heavy, and his body fell rapidly.
As his body fell, he saw Dahei. It was Dahei who saved him, darting over from the distance and biting down on the illusory finger that was about to strike him.
However, Dahei managed to bite off more than half of the force, but there was still some residual force hitting his skull, resulting in serious injuries.
His head was on the brink of exploding, the skull even cracked, but it didn’t explode!
"Swoosh swoosh~" The Saint Master and Broderick Hopkins charged out from the left and right towards Kenneth Melton, while Dahei turned into a black light, rushed to Yusuf, who was falling, and carried him away!
...
After dark at Pier Dojo.
Brought back by Dahei, Yusuf had awakened. His cracked skull had self-repaired, and apart from being extremely weak, he wasn’t gravely injured.
However, this experience filled Yusuf with intense fear, as if Dahei had been even a little bit late, he would have truly died.
Moreover, the fates of Light and Broderick were unknown, though Pier returned with Mrs. Santiago and Evie Santiago.
"Report... They’re back, they’re back!" Just as Yusuf was in a hurry at the dojo, Broderick and Light returned, covered in blood, flying through the sky.
Yusuf was utterly protective. Since the Saint Master and Broderick had followed him, he had no reason to see them as cannon fodder. Luckily, the two managed to escape with their lives!
Even though they returned, both were covered in blood, and the Saint Master even collapsed to the ground, unable to speak a word.
Broderick’s injuries were somewhat lighter. After all, he was an experienced Dao Ancestor, and while not the top tier, he still had some ability to protect himself.
"We managed to hold off Kenneth Melton, as he only focused on killing you, not aiming for our complete destruction, which is how we survived," Broderick explained while treating his injuries.
"Later, when Kenneth Melton realized he couldn’t catch you, he came to trouble us, and we were hit several times by his killing strikes as we fled."
"But after he pursued us near the dojo, he did not continue, disappearing into the sky." Broderick continued explaining while healing himself.
"As long as you’re back, as long as you’re back, just heal at ease!" Yusuf consoled.
"Indeed, if Kenneth Melton dares step into this dojo, I’ll send his soul back home!" Master Timothy grunted angrily.
Yusuf sighed with relief, "Luckily, it was dangerous but not fatal. But Kenneth Melton is indeed too strong!" Yusuf shook his head. Without Dahei by his side, he couldn’t match the top-tier Dao Ancestors in a one-on-one fight.
Moreover, this gave rise to a deep sense of crisis and a need for foresight. When he was on the verge of death just now, his mind had just one thought: if his head exploded, then Blue Sea and Cloud Sky would inevitably explode, and if it did, those relatives within would surely die too.
Of course, his relatives weren’t in Blue Sea and Cloud Sky this time, but they undoubtedly would be in the future. If this happened again, what would he do then?
He couldn’t afford to die and involve his whole family, so he must arrange for his family’s safety in the future, even to the point of entrusting them if needed!
Yet even when entrusting, he needed to choose one or several who would never betray him.
In theory, Master Timothy was the best candidate for entrustment, but... their friendship hadn’t reached such life-and-death bonds, such heartfelt connection, so if he died one day, Master Timothy would have no reason to continue supporting his family when he no longer had any value.
Pier could be entrusted too, but Pier’s cultivation level was too weak. If he died, Pier might not survive the pursuit of other Dao Ancestors.
Broderick, the Saint Master, and the Heart Patriarch couldn’t be trusted. Because if he died, the master-servant imprint would be undone automatically, they might harm his family then!
Thus, it seemed there was no one under the heavens to entrust with this responsibility.
"If there’s no one to entrust, then I can only..." Yusuf’s eyes flashed. He would have to secret his family away, not in the Eternal Life Realm, nor in the Immortal Realm, but within a mortal world!
Only he would know their location then, and given how vast the mortal world was, searching for them would be like finding a needle in a haystack for anyone else. If he died, those with vendettas couldn’t find his family quickly, so in time, they might give up the search altogether.
After all, who could afford to waste time looking for a group of widows and orphans, delaying their own lives and achievements? It would be too meaningless.
"Yes, that’s the plan. Send them to some mortal world, let them live without worry and in peace!" Yusuf quickly made his decision.
This time, his close brush with death truly terrified him. Moreover, with the Blood Beads unresponsive and him unable to see through, the crisis of death filled him with fear. It was fine if he died, but involving his family would be the greatest guilt in his life.
"Brother, I need to leave for a few days!" After the realization, Yusuf looked towards Master Timothy again.
"Leave for a few days?" Timothy was startled, "Why are you leaving again? Aren’t you aware that the Heavenly anomaly will occur in a dozen days?"
"Before the Heavenly anomaly appears, I must acquire a portion of the Giant Spirit God Body. Only by acquiring it can I handle the crisis in days to come!" Yusuf sighed, "Otherwise, I have no confidence, plus I feel my bad luck is approaching!"
"Then let me go with you!" Timothy stood up and said.
"No need, you stay in the dojo and guard it for me. I’ll surely return before the Heavenly anomaly manifests!"
