Chapter 153: Chapter 153: Value 150,000,000

Dream Morrow hurriedly went upstairs, then Yusuf Zuck had him quickly wash his hands and bite open his fingertip.

He didn’t understand why the boy’s blood was needed, but evidently, a young man in the theory of Five Elements and yin-yang belongs to Pure Yang, while the Blood Jade in his hand is yin, so it should be to counteract the Blood Jade or something of the sort.

Dream Morrow also knew about the red Jade Evil Gate, so he immediately washed his hands and did as told, biting open his finger and dripping blood onto it.

"Hoo~" Just as Dream Morrow’s blood dripped on it, the originally blood-like color of the Blood Jade began to fade.

"Has the color faded?" Everest Zuck asked over the phone.

"Mhm, it faded, wow, it’s amazing."

"You shouldn’t keep it on you either. Use a strong white liquor, the stronger the better, and throw it into a liquor bottle or cup. When I come back tomorrow, hand it over to me then, but in the meantime, don’t let anyone touch it."

"Got it, thank you Mr. Zuck." Yusuf Zuck took a deep breath and said.

"I should be thanking you. This thing is of great use to me," Everest Zuck laughed over the phone.

"Well, we’ll talk more when we meet tomorrow." After Yusuf Zuck hung up the phone, he quickly went downstairs, remembering that there seemed to be some Maotai liquor in his Land Rover, leftover from a few days ago. He hadn’t wanted to throw it away since he had paid for it, so he had just tossed it in the trunk.

After bustling for half a day and dropping the faded Blood Jade into a white liquor cup, Yusuf Zuck then went downstairs.

And when he descended, he saw an odd scene.

Miles O’brien sat motionless in a chair, while Fleur Carson, Jerome Hart, Samuel Ross, a guy named Pillar, and Dream Morrow formed a circle, each of them smoking and staring straight ahead, and in the middle of the circle was a huge pile of pearls, agate, gold, jade antiques, and the like, like a big sand dune.

"What’s the matter, don’t scare me, are you guys possessed?" Yusuf Zuck’s forehead started to sweat; these people sitting in a circle not talking, eyes glazed, it was a sign of possession.

"Nah, it’s just the first time we’ve seen so much gold and treasure, it’s shocking, like something out of a painting, feels a bit surreal," Samuel Ross stood up and said, laughing.

"Bro, it’s a whole big vat," Dream Morrow also marveled.

"Stop looking, let’s start sorting. Then let Louise estimate the value, Louise is an authority on this," Yusuf Zuck said with a smile.

"Okay." The others didn’t mind the dirt on them, and sorted the gold bricks, gold bars, and gold ingots together, the silver ingots together, the pearls together, the agate gemstones, diamonds together, and some jade bracelets, Jade Buddha statues, and the like together again...

After being busy for more than half an hour with the sorting, Yusuf Zuck had Miles O’brien give an estimate right there.

"The gold and the like should weigh around seventy to eighty catties, and silver ingots aren’t worth much these days, so if we use the market’s recycling price of two hundred thirty yuan per gram for gold, then the total value of the gold and silver ingots should be around ten million yuan."

"These jades are all good quality. If we find the right buyer, I estimate they could be worth over thirty million yuan."

"The most valuable are these various colored gemstones and diamonds, I guess they’re worth hundreds of millions. Adding everything else together should be worth about ten million yuan, so all told, these items combined would be a conservative estimate of one hundred fifty million yuan. Of course, the gems could be worth more, especially those diamonds; I’ve never seen ones that large," Miles O’brien stuck out her tongue. What luck Yusuf Zuck has, no wonder he insisted on renting the shop. Had he discovered the hidden treasure here before?

"Hmm, 150 million is a nice number—I’ll take half, and you five will split the remaining 75 million. That’s 15 million each, hehe... Congratulations everyone, you’re all millionaires now!" Yusuf Zuck chuckled.

However, as he laughed, the others didn’t— the sum was simply too much, beyond their imagination. During dinner, they had thought they might split a hundred thousand or maybe a few hundred thousand at most.

But now, all of a sudden, they were getting 15 million each?

This was like winning the lottery jackpot three times over, so they felt a bit hesitant to accept it because it was just too much.

"Of course, I can’t give you the money right now. I need to take care of these items first, and after that, I can distribute it. So for now, it’s like I owe each of you 15 million!" Yusuf Zuck said with a grin.

"Don’t put it that way," Samuel Ross shook his head, glancing at the others, "To be honest, giving us so much money all at once, we really wouldn’t know how to spend it. And it’s very possible that we’d start squandering because of this sudden windfall. So keep the money with you for now; we’ll regroup later to discuss how to spend it, how to make it grow."

"Samuel’s right," Fleur Carson also smiled, "Frankly, you’re giving us this money as a gift, and it’s too generous. We’re somewhat overwhelmed. Didn’t you mention starting a company? Let’s just leave the money with you for now. When the company is actually established, you can convert our money into shares, making us shareholders."

"Exactly, exactly," the others nodded immediately. They really weren’t getting used to the idea—they were thrilled deep down, but what to do with the money once they had it? They were just a bunch of bumpkins.

"Don’t feel burdened," Yusuf Zuck laughed, shaking his head, "We agreed on ten percent each, so after I’ve sold the assets, I’ll transfer it to your accounts. We can talk about the company later on."

"Also, I want to promise everyone something—that 15 million is just the beginning. In the upcoming three to five years, we’ll all have even more savings coming in!"

"Yusuf, I’ve got an idea. Everyone listen up," Jerome Hart suddenly spoke up, "This might be a bit blunt, but we’re all just country folks here. With so much money suddenly on our hands, we don’t know how to spend it, nor do we have a clear idea of what to do. So, my suggestion is that we should find an investment or financial advisor. We hand over the money to them and let them operate it, spend it."

"To put it simply, after we’ve made the money, we entrust it to them and they’ll be responsible for investing it—in things like acquiring shares of a major company. That way, we’ll effectively hold shares in that company, so even if we do nothing, we’ll still receive dividends each year!"

"Sounds pretty good to me, but I don’t understand. Do any of you?" Yusuf Zuck looked around at the others.

Samuel Ross and the others all shook their heads; they were just security guards, what would they know?

"Even if I explained it, you wouldn’t understand. But when you have time, you could watch a movie from Hong Kong called Casino Tycoon, starring Eddy Hart and Adrian O’brien. The main characters in the movie have shares in many companies."

"I’ve seen that movie!" Dream Morrow raised his hand.

"Me too!" Everyone else nodded. They had all seen the movie and remembered it somewhat—the protagonist indeed had shares in many companies yet did nothing all day but steal things; likely, everything was being managed by a financial investment advisor.

"But where do we find such a person, and we’d need them to be trustworthy, right?" Yusuf Zuck asked.

"I’ve just thrown out a rough idea. You could ask Ruth Wilcox; she’s from a big clan, a major conglomerate, she’s got insider knowledge of these matters!" Jerome Hart said.

"Alright, I’ll ask her when I have a chance." Yusuf Zuck nodded. He couldn’t contact Ruth Wilcox at the moment, but he could get in touch with Mia. Moreover, he thought Jerome Hart’s suggestion wasn’t bad—if he really did find such an investment advisor in the future, they could help him manage the money he’d earned, behind the scenes.

Of course, the prerequisite was that the investment advisor had to be absolutely trustworthy.
