Chapter 1476: Chapter 1476: Inviting the White Emperor

Tyler Nash did not go to trouble Yusuf Zuck. He was puzzled why Yusuf had not killed a single person and wondered what Yusuf was worried about. However, since Yusuf had refrained from killing, there must be a reason for it.

He recalled the agreement with Yusuf, contemplated for a moment, and selectively erased a portion of his memory, which was one part of their agreement.

In truth, it wasn’t just Harry Montoya who was devoid of Blood Energy; the pair of men and women who returned later also lacked Blood Energy.

Only the first eight possessed it. A total of eleven people returned, but based on the amount of Blood Energy and the number of people, there should have been twelve remaining.

Out of eighty-one people, only twelve survived. One had to admit that the death rate in the True Spirit World this time was incredibly high, and what’s more, those who died were all descendants or direct kin of Ancient Great Gods.

"Buzz!" Suddenly, just as Yusuf was still pacing outside the stone platform and the other contestants remained on high alert or in confusion, a powerful tremor abruptly rippled through the True Spirit World.

Everyone knew the time had come and simultaneously turned their eyes to the sky, waiting to see if the owner of that colossal hand would descend.

However, as Yusuf and the others gazed upward, an irresistible suction emanated, akin to a tornado, engulfing them all.

Yusuf understood—this was the signal for teleportation away.

And indeed, as he silently counted to three, his body suddenly felt weightless. In the next instant, he was drawn onto the stone platform, and as the platform flashed with brilliance, he and everyone else vanished simultaneously from their original locations.

"Whoosh..." In a flash of lightning, the suction disappeared. Yusuf and the other eleven quickly scattered, putting distance between each other, their gazes becoming strange as they surveyed their surroundings.

This was... It was high above the True Spirit World, except now they should have breached the boundaries of the True Spirit World, overlooking it from above.

And right there, countless portals opened before them, and one by one, strangely dressed individuals appeared.

There were emperors clad in Dragon Robes, towering giants several meters tall, diminutive, stunted beings less than a meter high, as well as women, elderly crones, scholars, generals, beggars, and more. Each person donned distinctive attire.

When Yusuf saw these people, his eyelid twitched intensely because, within Harry Montoya’s memory, he recognized several of them as Ancient Great Gods.

A gaze brimming with warmth and resignation landed upon him, and in the instant Yusuf met that gaze, he immediately fell to his knees.

It was the Flame God, Harry Montoya’s celestial benefactor and mentor, an unparalleled strongman who had imparted divine techniques and wisdom for life.

"Why are there still eleven? That’s impossible!"

"Indeed, impossible. Yusuf killed two, so logically, there should be two traces of Blood Energy. Where did he go? Why is the Blood Energy missing?"

"Still eleven, still eleven—the numbers don’t add up! The teleportation process just now was dictated by the True Spirit World’s rules, ensuring every living creature, even down to an ant, would be transported out."

"Could it be that Yusuf Zuck is dead? Yet, it’s unclear who killed him, so his Blood Energy fails to manifest?"

"That’s certainly possible. Or perhaps he committed suicide? Maybe he died from going mad due to cultivation deviation?"

"If cultivation deviation was the cause of his death, then indeed no one would gain his Blood Energy."

"There are two other possibilities. One: he wasn’t teleported out. Two: he fused with someone else."

"Impossible. Even if he fused with someone else, after fusion, his blood energy should visibly appear overhead. But look—apart from the top five, where do you see anyone else with two or more traces of Blood Energy here?"

"Enough." Suddenly, amidst the heated discussion, the Central Azure Cloud Heavenly Emperor bellowed, "The top five contenders will soon be admitted to the Heavenly Dao Gate where they will receive its blessings. The rest performed well overall and will be escorted back by their respective sponsors." The Central Azure Cloud Heavenly Emperor waved his hand and commanded, "Giant Spirit God Servant, where are you?"

"Present."

"Swish!" At the sound, a towering giant over three meters tall appeared, adorned with two intertwined chains. His cultivation level was impossible to discern. But when Yusuf saw him, his heart thudded violently, an inexplicable sense of familiarity surged—remarkably strong familiarity.

"He possesses the Power of the Giants!" Yusuf screamed inwardly. "How is this possible? How could it be? Am I not unique? Is there truly someone else in this realm who bears a Giant Spirit Seed, or its sapling, or even a full-grown Giant Spirit Tree or Grass?"

Fixing his intense gaze on the Giant Spirit God Servant, Yusuf then turned his attention to the youth standing beside him.

The boy appeared about seventeen or eighteen years old, yet—yet—he bore an uncanny resemblance to the Thunderbolt Beads, almost as if someone had peeled his face off and stamped it onto the youth’s features.

When Yusuf stared at the youth, the latter furrowed his brows and gave him a once-over.

"Swish~" Suddenly, the Giant Spirit God Servant extended his massive hand and scooped Tyler Nash and the other four top contenders in a single sweep, holding them like chicks in his palm.

Tyler Nash struggled momentarily, but the giant was far too powerful. Within his grasp, Tyler Nash was utterly helpless, nothing more than a baby chick.

"Wait before you leave." All of a sudden, just as the Giant Spirit God Servant was about to take the five away, a cold glint appeared in Great God Yi’s eyes as he spoke icy words, "I want to perform a soul search on everyone."

"What?" Upon hearing Great God Yi’s statement, everyone thought they’d misheard. Was Yi out of his mind? Perform a soul search? These eleven contestants—who among them wasn’t an exceptional figure? Who didn’t carry monumental secrets and fortunes?

If he were to conduct a soul search, he’d uncover their secrets, discover the origins of their fortunes, and even learn their sect affiliations, family ties, and elder identities.

This act would violate established rules and unquestionably turn the elders backing these eleven individuals into his enemies.

And sure enough, when Great God Yi’s voice faded, the Flame God was the first to act. With a sweep of his sleeve, he whisked the squinting Harry Montoya away to his side, followed by other contestants’ sect elders or family elders stepping forward to protect their kin.

"Apologies, we don’t have time to play along with your antics," the Flame God and others snorted coldly.

"Enough. Giant Spirit God Servant, wait before leaving. Yi merely fears that Yusuf Zuck may be cloaking himself using techniques to hide inside someone’s body or on their person, which is why he insists on inspecting all eleven contestants," Central Azure Cloud Heavenly Emperor interjected to defuse the situation.

Upon hearing this, Yusuf’s heart sank. It seemed he had gained notoriety yet again. Damn it, he had only killed two people but had already been targeted with resentment. Tyler Nash killed twenty-four—why wasn’t anyone clamoring for his blood?

In truth, Yusuf could only blame his poor luck. If he had killed others like Tyler Nash, rather than someone like Avah Merritt—even if he had killed Lionel Trujillo—no one would have harbored grudges against him, considering it was part of the rules, and those contestants’ elders had mentally prepared for such scenarios.

However, Avah Merritt’s situation was extraordinarily special. Her entry into this event carried an unspoken assurance of her safety. Yet, she had died, and thus, Great God Yi’s fury was unsurprising.

The Green Cloud Heavenly Emperor continued, "There is no need to conduct soul searches. If the goal is merely to check whether someone is concealing another person within their body, we can summon the White Emperor. With the White Emperor’s Divine Capture Mirror, everything, whether foul spirits or phantoms, will be revealed at a glance."

"Yes, summon the White Emperor," the crowd’s eyes brightened. The White Emperor possessed an extraordinary Magic Treasure—a mirror that could capture all spirits and souls across the realm.
