Invisible Security Guard -
Chapter 1474: Harry Montoya
Chapter 1474: Chapter 1474: Harry Montoya
"Where is he? Where is he? Where is he?" It wasn’t just Tyler Nash searching; even Yi the God, Jeremiah Colon, the Heavenly Emperor, and others above the Fourfold Mist Pool were looking. Yusuf Zuck had disappeared, vanishing from their sight.
It must be noted that from atop the Fourfold Mist Pool, they could observe everything within the True Spirit World. Even when Yusuf was Invisible before, those near him couldn’t detect him, but the spectators above the Mist Pool could see him with clarity.
But now, he had vanished into thin air. Tyler Nash’s Blood Energy was still at thirteen strands, with no increase, meaning Yusuf hadn’t been killed by him.
Harry Montoya fled in panic, still looking the same as before. The battlefield from the fight was gone, the site of the explosion of the Golden Light Green Energy Arrow was gone, and all other spots were empty too.
On the Fourfold Mist Pool sat nothing except Ancient Great Gods. Besides the Heavenly Emperor, there were Saints. Logically, even if those juniors in the True Spirit World could master thousands of transformation techiques, even if they could turn into stone, or into flowers, grass, and trees, these beings should still be able to identify them with a single glance.
But now, Yusuf Zuck was simply gone.
This was too incredible, too unbelievable. The shock among the great gods brimmed with strangeness because no one could figure out how Yusuf had disappeared.
"This is impossible," the solemn voice of the Green Cloud Heavenly Emperor echoed.
"Yes, it’s impossible—but where is he?"
"He... when he was swallowed into the Phantom’s Maw by the Yin-Yang Being, the Phantom’s Maw was blown apart by him. While he was in the Phantom’s Maw, we didn’t see him. All we saw was the Golden Light Green Energy Arrow from the explosion, Harry Montoya fleeing, and the Yin-Yang Being pursuing."
"When did he disappear? Where did he vanish? None of us saw it."
"Hush—" Many gasped sharply because the situation felt ominously bizarre. What on earth had happened with Yusuf Zuck? Was he dead or had he escaped—or was he hiding?
"What should we do?" someone suddenly asked.
"Wait. He’ll show himself sooner or later. He couldn’t have escaped beyond the confines of the True Spirit World, so he’s still here. All we can do is wait. Besides, in eighteen days, everyone will be collectively transported out. By then, even if he has turned into air, he will be transported out, and we’ll see him before us."
"But why is he hiding? Could it be that he knows we are watching him here? Does he know he committed a great blunder, killing the wrong person? Is that why he’s hiding?"
"We can only find out through a Soul Search once we catch him."
"Precisely. We just need to be patient and wait."
The crowd silently nodded. Even Yi the God sat back down, grabbed a wine flask, and started drinking in big gulps.
At this time, no one paid attention to Harry Montoya. Naturally, someone checked him carefully, but Harry still looked the same: face full of fear, his Cultivation Level among the lower-middle range of the eighty-one participants.
Above his head, not a single trace of Blood Energy could be seen.
However, the onlookers couldn’t help but marvel at how lucky Harry Montoya had been, narrowly escaping death. If it weren’t for Yusuf Zuck, if Harry had jumped out of the tree hollow and fled in a different direction instead of heading toward Yusuf, he undoubtedly would have died.
But the world works in mysterious ways. When Harry fled right above the Invisible Yusuf, the black mist of the Yin-Yang Being enveloped him, catching Yusuf in it as well. Yusuf had no choice but to reveal himself to fight the Yin-Yang Being. Harry, who was doomed, survived inexplicably.
The Yin-Yang Being lost all interest in killing Harry, focusing solely on killing Yusuf. And yet Yusuf vanished, allowing Harry to escape far away, putting a significant distance between himself and the Yin-Yang Being.
In the Fourfold Mist Pool, no one paid Harry any further attention—not even his mentor, the Flame God, who was also busy searching for Yusuf Zuck’s tracks.
Meanwhile, Harry had, after hours of fleeing, hidden himself in another tree hollow. He avoided going outside to hunt or confront others. Having a weaker Cultivation Level, he lacked the qualifications to battle others. All he wanted now was to survive.
Harry Montoya closed his eyes. But the moment he did, he let out a long sigh of relief.
Because, at this point, Harry Montoya was no longer Harry Montoya—or rather, his soul had sunk into slumber and void. Now, it was Yusuf Zuck’s soul that fully occupied him.
This was possession—a parasitic takeover, claiming the body as his own, completely transforming into another person.
Of course, Yusuf silently felt gratitude toward that bastard, the cross-dressing being who had been his rival his whole life, his half-brother. This brother whom Yusuf had once cruelly hurt had come through for him at a critical moment.
Although Yusuf had promised him a hundred drops of the Dew of Creation, that was just an excuse to reassure the bastard. Without giving him something, he wouldn’t feel balanced inside.
Yusuf understood that this time, he owed that bastard big-time. This cross-dresser had proven himself reliable, continually helping Yusuf, even after their last meeting in the Heavenly Realm.
Though his nature had changed, though he was twisted and sinister, deep down, he was truly lonely and yearned for companionship.
Not the kind of companion for dual cultivation, but someone who’d walk with him on the path of cultivation.
Millennia and millennia passed. Time shifted, space altered, yet he walked alone, pausing and moving forward in solitude. Despite resenting Yusuf and bearing grudges for the past, he didn’t truly want Yusuf dead.
Because, if Yusuf died, then his cultivation journey would lose someone... someone whose absence would make him even lonelier.
With Yusuf alive, at least there’d be anticipation, conflicts, and excitement. The constant rivalry brought some fun to the dreary path—for if Yusuf were dead, then when he one day became supremely powerful, there’d be no one left to envy him.
With Yusuf alive, there’d be someone to envy and admire him, someone to let him boast and flaunt. That was what he truly desired.
By now, he didn’t even care whether he had a bird down there. Such things no longer mattered in the larger scope of his life.
The same went for Yusuf. If Tyler Nash were to someday find himself in mortal peril or under oppression, Yusuf would also unhesitatingly come to his aid.
As Tyler had once put it, "We can fight, quarrel, or even kill each other, but no one else is allowed to bully us." If Tyler were in danger, Yusuf would step in. If Tyler needed help, Yusuf would help him.
On the cultivation path, blood kin and near kin... it seemed only the two of them remained.
Yusuf’s lips curled into a faint, pleased smile. He steadied his thoughts and immediately began accessing Harry Montoya’s memory stores, swiftly integrating all of his information and recollections.
"Hmm? He knows about this place? True Spirit World? So we’re not supposed to stay here for just eighteen days but eighteen years? Because one day in the Eternal Sky equals a year in the True Spirit World?"
"And... what else..." Yusuf automatically discarded irrelevant memories, focusing solely on those tied to this place. He soon came across a few faces, two of which struck him as very familiar.
One was Avah Merritt, the other Lionel Trujillo—two individuals he had eliminated. In Harry Montoya’s memories, there was also information about them.
Lionel Trujillo had a close relationship with Ed Trujillo, the leader of the Thirty-Six Heavenly Constellations, but the specific nature of that relationship wasn’t clear in Harry’s memories.
However, Avah Merritt had significant connections, having even shared drinks with Harry Montoya.
Avah was the only daughter of Yi the God.
Furthermore, all eighty-one participants this time had extraordinary backgrounds. The purpose was to select a few to receive some form of creation. As for what this creation specifically was, Harry didn’t know. His memories only contained vague information his mentor, the Flame God, had conveyed—telling him to prepare, as someone would guide him to this True Spirit World for training and to seize the opportunity, and so on.
Yusuf swiftly browsed through everything about Harry Montoya—everything Harry knew.
