Chapter 1457: Chapter 1457: In the Palace of the Sea God
"Sabrina Dickson has been suppressed by the Heavenly Demon Imperial Clan?" Yusuf Zuck was utterly astonished. One must know, Sabrina Dickson was a person of great renown, a figure on equal footing with the Eight Great Clan Leaders, perhaps even stronger. After all, she once saved Jordan Berger’s life.
However, Sabrina Dickson likely wasn’t a Controller; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been suppressed by the Heavenly Demons.
"What level was your father?" Yusuf thought for a moment before finally asking, unable to hold back his curiosity.
Alicia Dickson thought briefly and replied, "Before being suppressed, he told me that he had touched the threshold of being a Controller and had some revelations. Therefore, his cultivation level must have surpassed the Eight Great Clan Leaders, perhaps even stronger than the third elder of the Torres Family!"
"Even someone this powerful was suppressed by the Heavenly Demons? It seems the Heavenly Demons are indeed extraordinary." Yusuf nodded, acknowledging the weight of the situation. Since the Heavenly Demons dared to attack the Mainland, it was evident that they had strong backing.
"What level are the Supreme Sovereigns of the Four Great Sky Demon Royal Family?" Yusuf continued to question.
"All of them are Controllers."
"No wonder." Yusuf let out a deep breath. The difference between being a Controller and merely touching its threshold was like night and day.
"Alright, I understand now. When the time comes, I will definitely rescue him." Yusuf nodded firmly and then, without delay, picked up Gael Berger and disappeared into the distance.
Yet as he left, Alicia Dickson unexpectedly followed after him.
Yusuf stopped and turned to look at her.
"I’m going with you," Alicia Dickson declared.
"Are you courting death?" Yusuf raised his eyebrows as he spoke.
"I know the way," she replied simply, and without further explanation, continued flying forward.
Yusuf said no more, allowing her to lead the way.
After another three days and nights of flying, finally, the once vast sea gave way to a dense cluster of islands on the horizon, each alive with signs of activity and habitation.
Of course, no humans lived there, but there were human-built houses and bridges. The Heavenly Demons, being intelligent, were no different from humans in some ways. Many of them lived in these buildings, cooked their meals, and lit fires.
"This is the peripheral region of the Ji Royal Clan. Many of these islands are inhabited by ape-men, werewolves, and hybrids born of humans and other creatures."
"Additionally, from this point on, we must exercise caution. In this area, Dignity-level Heavenly Demons are as numerous as stars. Among these Heavenly Demons, many are exceptionally perceptive and gifted with creation abilities. Hence, there are High-Level Formation Masters, Alchemy Masters, Artifact Refining Masters, and so on here. One could say the foundation of the Heavenly Demons far surpasses that of the Eight Great Families on the Mainland!"
"It’s just a pity they have fewer Controllers, right?" Yusuf sneered.
"Exactly. The Mainland has the Eight Great Controllers, whereas the Heavenly Demons only have the Four Major Royal Families—just four Controllers. So, no matter how many Dignity-level beings or other Heavenly Demons blessed with miraculous abilities they have, it’s futile. Without sufficient Controllers, they dare not invade the Mainland."
"Miss Dickson speaks true, haha." Suddenly, just as Alicia Dickson finished speaking, a streak of dazzling light swept down from the sky, stopping a hundred meters in front of Yusuf and Alicia.
It was a woman dressed in a red cloak, her cultivation level at the realm of Superior Divine Master!
Alicia Dickson frowned, while Yusuf curiously observed the woman. She looked indistinguishable from a human deity, with no obvious demonic traces.
However, Yusuf could faintly sense the demonic aura emanating from her!
The Sea God was also a demon, born from the ocean itself. Naturally, the Sea God’s descendants would carry traces of demonic essence.
"Greetings, Master Yusuf." The woman in the red cloak cupped her fists toward Yusuf and continued, "I am Ji Ping’er. My father, Ji Lao, has commanded me to escort you and Miss Dickson."
"I know you." Alicia Dickson suddenly took a deep breath and said, "Ji Ping’er, the Ninth Princess of the Ji Royal Clan. It’s said that among Ji Lao’s numerous offspring, you are the most talented, having traveled across the entire Heavenly Continent in your youth."
"Miss Dickson seems well-informed about us." Ji Ping’er smiled faintly and remarked, "What you say is true. I indeed journeyed across the Heavenly Continent and hold unique insights into its people and civilizations. However, this is not the place for conversation. Please, follow me to the palace."
Alicia Dickson didn’t respond immediately. Instead, she turned to Yusuf. Both of them knew full well that the path ahead was fraught with dangers akin to a dragon’s den and a tiger’s lair. Entering might mean never coming out alive.
"Lead the way!" Yusuf, bold and confident in his skills, gave the order. After all, even the Tower of Heaven had failed to destroy him; there was nothing he feared now.
"There’s no need for a guide. Allow me to open the entrance to the palace for you." Ji Ping’er smiled lightly and waved her elegant sleeve. The surrounding void morphed immediately, revealing a shimmering curtain of light, like a massive screen. Behind the curtain lay mountains, rivers, and palaces—an enchanting and picturesque scene.
"This is our Ji Clan’s Sea God Palace. Please, follow me inside." Ji Ping’er extended a welcoming hand.
"So, this really is your Sea God Palace," Alicia Dickson remarked, taking a deep breath.
"Then let’s go in!" Right now, Yusuf’s only concern was rescuing Fatty. His mind fixated on his friend’s fate, and with this urgency, he didn’t hesitate. His figure blurred as he dived straight into the shimmering screen of light.
Alicia Dickson, determined to save her father, gritted her teeth and followed swiftly.
Ji Ping’er, seeing the two enter, also stepped through. As she did, the curtain of light vanished without a trace.
Once inside the light curtain, Yusuf noticed that nothing had changed. The mountains, rivers, and scenery were exactly as he had seen earlier—no illusions, no traps. The Sea God Palace truly existed as it appeared.
"Clang~ Clang~ Clang~" Within the palace, a bell began to toll. The sound was not an alarm but carried an ethereal, calming quality.
"Please, this way." Ji Ping’er gestured politely, leading them through the palace grounds.
Yusuf and Alicia followed closely until they reached an expansive complex of grand buildings.
This was the royal palace of the Ji Clan, exuding unmatched majesty. Intricate totems adorned every wall nearby, displaying exceptional craftsmanship.
Oddly, there were no stationed guards here. It seemed the Sea God Palace needed no protectors.
Beyond the grand entrance lay wide stone steps. As Ji Ping’er led the way, she explained, "Our ancestors decreed that within the palace, all must walk on foot. Flying, noise-making, and fighting are forbidden. Violators will be executed."
Alicia Dickson said nothing, merely glancing at Yusuf. However, at that moment, Yusuf suddenly unleashed an overwhelming surge of Divine Consciousness.
"Crackle! Crackle! Crackle!" As his Divine Consciousness spread, it collided with barriers around the palace, producing a thunderous series of sparks and sounds akin to popping beans.
The entire palace was riddled with prohibitions, but Yusuf’s immense Divine Consciousness forcibly clashed with them, resulting in a violent commotion.
Ji Ping’er’s face darkened instantly, while Alicia’s eyes lit up in astonishment. The cacophony of exploding barriers signified that Yusuf’s Divine Consciousness was overpowering them. If it couldn’t, there would be no sound.
Breaking these barriers meant that Yusuf could clearly perceive the entire Sea God Palace, discerning any hidden enemies, traps, or ambushes. In this moment, everything was laid bare before him!
"How audacious, young one!"
"Roar~"
"Impudent!"
"You deserve death."
"Hmmph..."
The Sea God Palace erupted with a cacophony of voices—accusations and growls came from every direction.
Yet Yusuf’s face was ashen because, through his Divine Consciousness, he couldn’t find Fatty anywhere in the Sea God Palace!
