Chapter 1394: Chapter 1393: Inside the Mausoleum of Yu the Great
Yusuf Zuck didn’t say much about the stubbornness of the hulking figure, knowing that Laura Parham was indifferent to brotherly ties, but this giant’s feelings for his brothers and even for their bandit’s den ran deep!
He also stopped shouting about killing Yusuf Zuck, as he was well aware that the death of the feared tiger could not be blamed on Number Ten himself. The blame could only be placed on The Eight Great Families.
"Honestly, my feelings for the clan leader and the second-in-command aren’t that deep. It’s mainly Number Eight," the giant said, eyes reddening as they continued on their way. "Without Brother Eight, there would be no me today. Where would I be without Brother Eight? How could I still be alive?"
Yusuf Zuck remained silent because he didn’t know the inside story, not even when the bandit’s stronghold was established.
"The clan leader, despite his eccentricities and madness, is actually the most ruthless. Several brothers pretend to be on good terms with him, but inside they’re not, they just don’t dare to turn against him because of his cultivation level."
"So when you think about it calmly, it’s not your fault the clan leader died. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t have given him the best treasures either. It’s natural human behavior!" The giant said, revealing he wasn’t dumb or foolish despite his large frame.
"Thanks for understanding!" Yusuf Zuck replied with a nod and a smile.
"But they will definitely pursue us, and they will find out we have come to the Divine King’s Grave. You’ll be on the hit list too. Don’t you want to fight back?" The hefty man was trying to incite Yusuf Zuck to join him in a fight!
This guy too was a madman. A pure madman.
"Ahem, I’m just a Junior God King. I can’t defeat them, so I’ll pass!" Yusuf Zuck awkwardly admitted.
"I’m still a Mid-level God King, though. What’s there to be afraid of? It’s just one life, right?"
"Yes, fighting them is like handing over one’s life, so I won’t do it!"
The giant was left speechless, knowing Yusuf Zuck was right. They both knew it was a death sentence, after all, they didn’t have the capital to fight back.
"Brother Eight’s death can’t be in vain; the deaths of my brothers at the stronghold can’t be in vain either. I must act, I must!" The giant seemed to be forcing himself to focus on nothing but the fight ahead, to not be afraid, just to take action!
"Actually... there’s an old saying, ’A gentleman can take revenge even after ten years.’" Yusuf Zuck advised, "If you fight them now, you won’t avenge Brother Eight’s death, nor would you avenge the brothers from the stronghold. Instead, you’ll lose your own life. So I suggest you wait. You haven’t fully grown yet. Once you have, then you can seek revenge for Brother Eight without it being too late."
"But I... I... I can’t just let Brother Eight die in vain!"
"I didn’t say to let his death be in vain. When you are strong enough, then go avenge him. Besides, I’m sure Brother Eight wouldn’t want to see you do something foolish, right?"
"Brother Eight... waaaah~" In that moment, the three-meter-tall giant suddenly burst into tears, sobbing uncontrollably.
"If you believe me, then wait a little longer. We’ll lay low for now, and when the day comes, I’ll join you in seeking revenge!" Yusuf Zuck wanted to pat the giant’s shoulder but suddenly realized he could only reach his thigh.
"Let’s talk more about it later," he said, wiping his tears. "If there’s a good opportunity in the Divine King’s Grave, I will take revenge!"
As they talked, they had already flown to the top of a high mountain, and this mountain was called Mount Yu, below which lay the Divine King’s Grave.
"Do you know where to enter?" Yusuf Zuck’s Divine Consciousness covered Mount Yu, but he couldn’t find any entrance.
"You have to enter through a lake a hundred miles south of the mountain." The giant pointed to a vast lake spanning eight hundred miles to the south of the mountain.
"Let’s go." In one step, they crossed over and then stood on the tranquil surface of the lake.
The lake water was crystal clear, shallow enough in places to see the bottom, and fish could be seen swimming about.
Both Yusuf Zuck and the giant explored the bottom of the lake with their Divine Consciousness, and after a moment, they looked at each other excitedly.
There was a hole at the bottom of the lake, an opening like a spring, from which water steadily bubbled forth.
That cave must be the entrance to the Divine Tomb of Yu!
"Let’s go!" Without hesitation, the two immediately dove into the lake and swiftly swam towards the spring.
Just after a few breaths, Yusuf Zuck was the first to dive into the spring, followed by Think Tank, who, upon entering, suddenly wrapped something in mud and pressed it into the bottom of the lake at the edge of the hole, its identity unknown.
Once Yusuf Zuck entered the spring, the initial resistance from the water’s pushback was felt, but after a dozen or so breaths, a suction force came through, leading them into a pitch-black stone chamber entrance.
"Someone has been here before." All of a sudden, Yusuf Zuck pointed and released a flame, illuminating the surroundings, revealing chaotic footprints belonging to many people, not just one.
"It seems that quite a few people have come in!" Think Tank remarked.
"Of course!" Yusuf Zuck squatted down to carefully search for any footprints that might belong to Dai Hei.
Regrettably, due to the disorderly mix of prints, he could not find Dai Hei’s after a long search.
"The passageway ahead is long, likely leading in the direction of Mount Yu," Think Tank identified, pointing inside the stone chamber where a stone gate stood ajar, leading to a dark, lengthy corridor far beyond.
"You mentioned there was a labyrinth here before. How did you know?" Yusuf Zuck suddenly asked.
"I heard that the outermost part of the Divine Tomb of Yu is a labyrinth. Many people can’t make it out, walking in circles until they finally circle back. No one has reportedly ever made it through the labyrinth!"
"Then let’s get going." Yusuf Zuck strode towards the corridor, with Think Tank closely following behind.
Meanwhile, as Yusuf Zuck and Think Tank entered the corridor, the seventy-two undercover assassins from The Eight Great Families had already arrived at a mountain range to the east. This was where Yusuf Zuck and Think Tank had split up, with the path to the northeast leading to the Divine Tomb of Yu and the path due east leading to the lair of the Sea Demon King.
The group of seventy-two halted, and Jagger Torres, Waylon Berger, and the others gathered to discuss their next move.
"My suggestion is to head to the Divine Tomb of Yu first and eliminate Martin Huppe and his group!" Jagger Torres spoke solemnly.
"I suggest we go to the East Sea and find the Sea Demon King first. Martin Huppe and Laura Parham are not a concern!" Waylon Berger expressed a dissenting view.
"Jase Goodman, what do you think?" Jagger Torres inquired.
"I agree with Waylon Berger, to the East Sea first!" Jase Goodman stated coldly.
"I also propose heading to the East Sea first," Duke Arellano said, "Whether it’s Martin Huppe or Laura Parham, they must certainly be aware of the situation at Mount Xu Mi. Hence, they would surely guess that we are on their tail, and therefore, it’s not certain that they went to the Divine Tomb of Yu!"
"If we come up empty-handed there, we’ll just be wasting time!"
"I agree with Jagger Torres’ view. As long as Martin Huppe is not dealt with, he will continue to be a menace!" commented Xia Yan from the Xia Clan, in a heavy tone.
"I agree with Waylon Berger, we should head to the East Sea first. Only by the surrender of the six great bandits can we truly be at peace, and both Laura Parham and Martin Huppe will never reach the grand stage!"
"Heh, Jagger Torres, the reason you want to kill Martin Huppe so urgently is probably due to some personal agenda, right?" Watts family’s Lei Cha sneered.
All eyes turned to Jagger Torres. They knew what Lei Cha meant by personal agenda: among the Torres Family, the ’Landyn Torres’, a remarkable talent who had overcome the catastrophic chain tribulations, had limitless potential for future achievements.
And Martin Huppe might be a Divine King who had previously twice overcome those same catastrophic chain tribulations; thus, the Torres Family would not allow such an individual to exist, as he could potentially challenge the position of Landyn Torres in the future.
While the other Great Families also wished to eliminate Martin Huppe, none felt the urgency quite as pressing as the Torres Family!
