Jerome Hart and Paisley Kirk had figured it out, Yusuf Zuck and Ember Vance were having an affair, something fishy was going on because whenever Ember Vance talked to Yusuf Zuck, her face would turn red, and she seemed very nervous, as if she was afraid.

Of course, Jerome Hart and Paisley Kirk pretended not to notice.

Further away, Ainsley McCann also kept sneaking glances in their direction, but she couldn’t see anything, nor could she hear what Yusuf Zuck was saying to the beautiful woman.

"Two more friends are coming over in a bit, let’s wait a little longer, Ember. Let’s go talk in the car outside," Yusuf Zuck gave Ember Vance a meaningful look, indicating they really had serious matters to discuss that couldn’t be overheard by a third party.

"Okay." Ember Vance nodded, keeping her head down as she stood up and followed Yusuf Zuck out of the restaurant and into his white Range Rover.

Neither of them sat in the front; they both took seats in the back.

Ember Vance found herself more nervous than she had ever been in her life, sitting next to Yusuf Zuck. Her heart felt like it was about to leap out, her hands seemed to have no place to rest, nor did her feet, and she didn’t dare look up at him or speak first. She didn’t know what was wrong with her; she felt slightly dizzy.

Seeing how tense Ember Vance was, Yusuf Zuck thought she was afraid that he would take advantage of her again, so he said with a smile, "What are you scared of? I’m not going to touch you today."

"You jerk, jerk, if you dare to touch me again, I’ll shoot you," Ember Vance swung her little fist towards Yusuf Zuck’s shoulder without using any real force, which was more like coquetry than a threat.

"If you dare to pull a gun on me again, I’ll really pin you down, no courtesy," Yusuf Zuck teased her.

"No more, I won’t do it again..." Ember Vance replied weakly.

This fiery little beauty, this girl with a hot temper who feared nothing in the world, suddenly found out that she was afraid of Yusuf Zuck.

It wasn’t the fear one feels from terror, but the fear of making him angry.

Yusuf Zuck felt the change in Ember Vance; this chick seemed... seemed... to have changed her temperament, becoming obedient around him.

Yusuf Zuck wasn’t a fool, so he sensed something and thus, fell silent for a while. It wasn’t because he had touched her a couple of times that she had... actually fallen for him, was it?

If that was the case, then it would be a sin. He had flirted with her, taken advantage of her, partly because he felt this chick needed to be put in her place; if not, he would feel restless.

Of course, Ember Vance was indeed tempting; her fiery nature gave him the urge to conquer her, for subduing a fiery policewoman felt like an achievement.

Yusuf Zuck admitted that he was a chauvinist, and also possessed a strong desire to conquer!

"Why aren’t you talking?" After waiting for a while, Ember Vance lifted her head in confusion and looked at Yusuf Zuck when he didn’t speak.

"Oh, how did you get transferred to be the station chief?" Yusuf Zuck immediately asked.

"I was sent down to the grassroots for training. It was suggested by my family and my superiors. Probably they want to cultivate me. Since the old station chief was retiring, they decided to send me over in advance."

"Did you arrest Bud Trujillo for me?" Yusuf Zuck knew Bud Trujillo’s identity, so ordinarily, a regular cop wouldn’t dare touch him.

"He bullied you, so I caught him," Ember Vance said softly.

"Are you in trouble?" Yusuf Zuck pondered and then asked, "Bud Trujillo has connections, and hitting someone isn’t really a big deal, so did someone give you a hard time because of it?"

"It wasn’t much trouble. I found weapons and such in Bud Trujillo’s office, and his drug test came back positive. Then I took him to a remote location for interrogation and got quite a few bad deeds out of him. After that, his father got in touch with my superiors."

"As for the case, if I were dead set on prosecuting it, I could have locked Bud Trujillo up, but at most he’d get a year and a half. Plus, as soon as he’s in, his family would immediately get him out on bail or medical release, so we can’t keep him."

"The current situation is that I sent Bud Trujillo to the precinct, but I guess no one there dares to take on the case. So, in the end, the precinct will have to send Bud Trujillo back to me to handle."

"Bud Trujillo’s father is a person with actual power."

"So what I mean is, I’ll listen to you. If you want to put him away for a year and a half, I won’t listen to anyone else, just you, and I’ll go all out. But if you don’t want to prosecute him, I’ll just detain him for half a month, give everyone some face, and then let him go."

"Why would you listen to me?" Yusuf Zuck turned around, staring straight at her and asked.

"Saving you was the right thing to do. Seeing you, a girl, facing several gunmen, you seemed so brave." Yusuf Zuck gently patted her hand and said, "As for Bud Trujillo, don’t offend them to death. Just detain him for half a month and let him out, but I will send someone to your station to negotiate with Bud Trujillo and of course, the goal is to get money. He injured someone, he must pay for the treatment and compensation, at least five hundred thousand for each of the five people and at least a hundred thousand for the other injured ones. Only after paying this money, he can be released."

"Yeah, I’ll ask for more, he’s rich after all, I know how to handle it." Ember Vance mustered her courage, lifted her head, and opened her mouth to say, "Yusuf Zuck I... I..."

"Hmm?" Yusuf Zuck looked at her, as she struggled to articulate her thoughts.

With a "pfft" laugh, Yusuf Zuck also lightly touched her nose with his hand, and then lovingly wrapped her in his arms.

Ember Vance’s whole body immediately tensed up. She’d never been in a relationship before, and this was the first time in her life.

Yusuf Zuck looked down at her, smiled, and said nothing.

Just then, a Buick MPV pulled up in the restaurant’s parking lot. Samuel Ross and Dream Morrow had arrived.

"My friends are here. Let’s go upstairs together. Lift your head up," Yusuf Zuck said, straightening Ember Vance.

"Oh." Ember Vance’s face flushed, and she lifted her head, not daring to look at Yusuf Zuck.

At that moment, Yusuf Zuck leaned in and gently kissed her lips.

Ember Vance’s body shocked as if struck by electricity, and she went limp all at once: Bad guy... bad guy...

Her hands lightly pounded on Yusuf Zuck’s shoulders.
